I can only assume they weren't expecting long throws reaching the first man there because that should have been 3-0. -

As the Ipswich game is showing, it doesn't matter if we spend or not because they recruitment team because they haven't the slightest clue what to look for in a player. Until they're gone it makes no difference. -

Get Ismael gone at half time. This is the worst defending I've seen all season and that's saying a lot. -

We're 5 minutes in but it's already clear that Cashin is shite, at least with these tactics. This is why I have zero trust in any signing these clowns make regardless of cost because whatever metrics they use to decide to buy these players is clearly off. -

Awesome, we've signed a centre back with no brain. We're going down. -

Not convinced on this signing again, especially Val saying he wad a natural fit in the summer when we don't even play the same way. Hope to be proven wrong, but yet again for me we've gone for a punt on a young unproven player instead of anyone with the experience for the league we're in. We'll have a better idea of him this time next week at least. -

To be fair I'm relatively confident that the dumbest AI in the world could look at the data and conclude Henriksson up front doesn't work. -

Can't say I agree with that. Literal bull in a china shop that seemingly had no control over his own body at any time I saw him play. Scored a couple sure, but up there with the absolute worst players I've seen in a Rovers shirt in his general play. Now, if Eustace had continued with him that may have changed, but we'll never know. . -

Now that's gone through there's really no excuses for having a striker in for the weekend. -

We donate far too many points to teams in the bottom half and are completely reliant on turning up against the better teams. Even of our form picked up I have no confidence that this will be against the teams we really need them to be against. Not all 3 points are equal in this kind of position. -
v Hull City (a) - FA Cup R3 - 11/01/26
RTM08 replied to davulsukur's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Give over, the squad isn't great but there are plenty of managers out there who could have got more points out of the games we've had in that run, which includes Wenesday, Oxford, Portsmouth and Charlton. One win against almost the entire bottom half ffs. -

I wouldn't mind so much considering the squad available if we actually went for it, but it's clear he hasn't the foggiest how to get us to attack, regardless of who is in the squad. Still confident he'll take us down -
What on earth is going on with Palace? So little effort (and unfortunately I include Adam in that)

I'm not exactly enamoured with our new players but I will disagree with you a little bit. Alebiosu to me seems to be able to get some kind of cross away in any position on the right, some that he had no right to do so. Not every one is perfect, but none of the rest of the squad seem capable and even on the occasions all ball does go into the box they've all been seemingly trained not to get in there to anticipate the ball in. In a league where his team actually know where to attack he could potentially thrive, though I'd expect him to take some time to acclimitise. -
Sooo, hands up who actually thought Keith Andrews would do this good a job ar Brentford?

The January 2026 Transfer Window

We have McCloughlin, Pratt, Atcheson, Miller, Pickering fit who have all played at CB sometime or other. One way of alleviating any issues back there would be to not play 5 at the back every single game no matter the opponent. However, if we are determined to keep the current formation we currently have one striker to cover 2 positions if you're going to refuse to play Tyjon and Gueye, and we arguably don't have a single player capable of playing either wing back position effectively with Hedges and Alebiosu absent. Now, if we pull in a couple of strikers and a wing back in before the Hull game I'll concede it's a redundant argument, but as others have pointed out we need to ship 4 or 5 players with likely few suitors out the door before we can do that without likely overloading our player budgets. -

I'm not saying CB hasn't been an issue, but Pratt and Atcheson stepped up for some cover and statistically the defence is much better than the offence. Striker is by far the main priority followed by the wing back positions for me. -

Complete waste of the budget for me and tells me that we're committing to this garbage 5 at the back formation. CB was never the main priority and I would argue to position of least concern outside of the keepers. Once Carter and Wharton are back any guaranteed playing time could keep 4 or 5 Rovers developed players out of the squad too. -

Baradji again! First two times in months I've seen someone follow the cross in and we have 2 goals from it - amazing how that works. -

The fact that this is the best attacking play I've seen in quite a few matches says everything about us, because we still have no end product. -

I think the point is it's perspective. It's like when United fans whine about how they have the worst owners in England when it's clearly not the case. -

Atcheson with more attacking flair than our front 5 have in 3 months, hugely unlcuky there.
