  1. Knowing TM's aversion to play newcomers in the starting eleven and the fact that none of them are likely to be match fit or available, I think we are likely to start with 3 at the back, being Nyambe, Ayalla and Darragh. A midfield 4 of Buckley, Evans, Johnson & Bell and Brereton, Arma and Dolan as the front 3. You can perm any of the recent acquisitions and the usual crew on the bench. Today is likely to be a tough encounter and would be brilliant if we were to win and would set us up nicely for when the new boys are likely to come in to the reckoning. The rest of the season is an exciting proposition. Thoroughly looking forward to the match, just sad we're not there to cheer the boys on. From my armchair, sat on my jack jones, COYB!
  2. I just had a chuckle to myself: can you imagine the response if Elliot Bennet and Amari Bell are the full backs tomorrow, Evans the defensive midfielder and Gallagher and Brereton the wide forwards? It couldn't happen, could it? But Tony is in charge..... (Great window potentially though, I hope we've dispensed with all the nonsensical selections now and are really going for the top 2). Hopefully exciting times ahead, shame we can't be present.
  3. I'm looking forward to the game after having had bugger all to do or watch that I'm interested in sporting wise during the international break. (Has it only been 2 weeks?) The new norm, couple of cans, settle down in front of the TV and hook up ifollow from the laptop, no mates, with BRFCS lurking in the background as best option for discussion. Fecking best we can all do with the current scenario! Hopefully it'll be more of the same with the exception of the Cardiff stalemate. Rovers high tempo pressing game and speed of thought and movement in attack being the worry for Forest and not uncle Tony worrying too much about Hughton and his team. Hopefully Kaminski will be available and if Williams is unavailable, as is the suspicion, Ayala and Darragh will be fine in the centre of defence. I hope JRC is fit because his link up down the right flank with Dolan shows great promise and will have me sat on the edge of my armchair! It will be a shame if Holtby isn't fit but, as others have said, could be a great opportunity for Bucko to fill his role. I hope TM isn't tempted with Gallagher in the starting 11 and leaves Big Ben, Arma and Dolan to carry on as they started the season and terrorise Forest in the final third. So cheer us all up Rovers, COYB!!
  4. I've not seen or heard anything either Tony, hence the reason I sent the email. I didn't expect a reply in honesty but at least they did. Yes perhaps if Kamy still frequents the board, it could be something he could take up and ask what the implications are for The Rovers or any Club. I'll post the response to my request for further clarification if and when I receive one
  5. That's a good point but would make matters even worse. I've written again to the EFL, thanked them for the reply and asked for further clarification.
  6. I wrote to the EFL several weeks ago to ask what the current situation was regarding FFP and credit where its due, I received a reply as follows: "Proposals were approved in the close season by all Championship Clubs to amend Profit and Sustainability Regulations in order to address the impact that Covid-19 has had on Club finances and on all Clubs P&S results. Clubs will now report on a four year period that covers 2017/18 - 2020/21 instead of three years 2017/8 - 2019/20." Make of that what you will but it appears to me that it just kicks the can down the road.
  7. Exactly, it's the main entrance to the stadium. Any company with any pride should want the best first impressions to be made on any visitor, whoever they are. The excuses offered make it even worse and border on pathetic. As Mercer said, just get it bloody sorted.
  8. 2 of the 'big 6' (Chelsea and City) can only be classed as such thanks to their benefactor owners' clever manipulation of FFP. It will be the final nail in the coffin for football as we know it (knew it?) if this is passed. Disgusting opportunism from initially United and Liverpool. Would United be proposing this in 1975?
  9. When the floodlights failed and Faz scored a late winner?
  10. An absolutely ridiculous scenario but the EFL being themselves..........
  11. A bit late now perhaps, but I'd have been intrigued to see what our owners did had FFP been postponed. Perhaps not our priority in terms of signings but Joe Lolley would have been a brilliant option if available. Surely there must be a class left back available? I always remember Hird and Bailey as 2 brilliant attacking full backs in the early 70s team, way before their time. They'd be worth an absolute fortune in the current climate. I wish we could replicate them!
  12. Just a thought and perhaps an alternative take on matters, what if: June 1st 2020: Right lads and lasses, as we all know we're all faced with the unknown from Covid-19 and when we may be able to allow supporters back into Ewood Park. Faced with the unknown, Season Ticket prices this season are frozen as per last season if purchased prior to July 31st and subject to a £50 surcharge from 1st August. As a consequence of social distancing, you may not be able to sit in your regular seat, we will however look to accommodate you as best we are able. Should supporters not be allowed into Ewood Park or if supporters would prefer not to attend because of fears for their own safety, all home matches, in all competitions, will be available to subscribers free of charge on ifollow. As an act of good faith, a further 7 midweek away games will be available on ifollow free of charge. We appreciate that the current situation is less than ideal for all of us and as a thank you for your continued and invaluable support, would like to offer all season ticket holders for the 2020/21 season a 30% reduction should you decide to renew your season ticket for the 2021/22 season before 1st July 2021. Thank you very much for your continued support, WE Are The Rovers!!
  13. Surely EFL should issue a statement that FFP no longer applies in the short term at least. Despite what's happened in the past 10 years, at least our owners haven't upped sticks and left The Rovers in the mire. If Waggott and co. had handled things totally differently, had shown empathy and understanding of supporters views, I'm certain that our supporters would have had a totally different view and reacted in a much more positive way. There's a right way and a wrong way to deal with us as supporters, for what ever reason, whoever has been in charge at Rovers over the past 10 years, they have always managed to piss their lifeblood off. I largely agree with the OP and its' sentiments but as others have said, disagree with any semblance of criticism of us as supporters. Had this situation been handled totally differently, I'm certain that there would have been a similar amount of season tickets purchased as in previous seasons. Waggott, get yer bloody coat!
