  1. That's exactly why I firmly believe that they owners have not learned their lessons. I am convinced Mowbray would not have said what he did, had he not meant it, but here we are 3 months later and it hasn't been sorted. There are still outside influences in my opinion, affecting what goes on and that has happened since the very day the owners turned up.
  2. They tickets did go on sale and were withdrawn again, as the fans kicked off about the prices. the main gripe was there are no season tickets on sale at the minute and the season ticket holders missed a match last year, as their last home game V Brentford was cancelled. They were priced at £24 and no reductions for last seasons season ticket holders. I don't know if the are having a rethink about the process, given the reaction, or there is something more sinister going on. Serious trouble ensues come what may though.
  3. I find it incredible to be honest that certain people think that the past is the past and lessons have been learnt. Venkys will never learn their lessons and hiding away in India, funding the club for some strange reason, does not mean they have learned their lessons. They still have no proper structure or plan for the club and just lurch from one disaster to another. Do not be surprised to see a relegation battle again this year, another managerial casualty and some cheap chancer brought in to put it right.
  4. It won't help with FFP at all, as it was designed to stop this happening in the first place. It does depend of course what the funds are used for, as some of it would be ignored, if for example, it was used toward the academy. It is still frightening how much money the owners need to keep pumping into the club to keep it going. A lot has been self inflicted, but I still see no reason, why they keep on with this.
  5. I did fear we would be down there for a while and spare the thought, wondered if we would drop even further. After the ridiculous appointment of Coyle I guess the only way was up and thankfully we have moved in the right direction. Understandably fans now want success in this division and a return to the top flight, so Mowbray's credit has now run out with most people and he is about to feel a real backlash, unless the next 5 games, show an improvement.
  6. I have followed this a fair bit, as I have family and close fans, who are Wanderers fans. I can’t see a way out of this for them and hope they somehow survive. Sounds like Bury are also in serious trouble. Could this be the start of the combustion of football, that many have predicted?
  7. Go on grass him up!!
  8. Exactly. Its more a fans thing too the rivalry and although it is fierce, if it makes sense for the clubs and the player.
  9. At first glance you T looked like an F
  10. Bolton are 2/1 against being relegated at the minute, which looks like printing money to me. In fact, I would go as far as to say that Salford to be promoted and Bolton to be relegated at a shade over 15/2 is a must for any football punter and even Salford to win League two and Bolton to go down, at 23/1 looks tasty.
  11. I agree. I first saw him in a night match at Ewood and went into the work the following day, to tell the Dingles there we had a huge star on our hands. He was as good a prospect I had seen come through the ranks in years. Amazing how his fee alone, almost paid Venkys back what they paid for the club.
  12. I think that's the bigger issue here. If we have been tracking him for at least a season as reported, then to see him plucked from under out noses like that, doesn't bode well.
  13. That could upset the applecart a touch.
  14. It could have been worse, Aldi in Accrington next year?
  15. I remember my Grandad having a beer or two with him, in the seventies, when I was growing up. I never met him, but hears he was a nice guy and spoke about his time at Rovers, very fondly. He used to have a drink in the Ivy Pub in Blackburn I believe.
  16. It could be a very interesting season and maybe the adage anyone can beat anyone, may well apply to the coming season, even more than the last 2-3 seasons. A quick look at the relegation odds for example has Barnsley as the 2/1 favourites to go down, but none other teams, including Rovers are under 5/1. The favourites for promotion are Leeds at 7/4 but even that market is tight as a further 8 teams are then priced at 5/1 or under. As usual the first ten games are crucial and should give us an indication as to whether we will be fighting at the top or bottom end.
  17. A bit like what they have done with the football club really. It seems to have been bought on a wing and a prayer, serves no purpose to them and just sits there rotting away. I suspect eventually they will realise that they are throwing money at it to maintain it and pay the fixed bills, such as insurances, standing charges for the utilities and the council tax, but the purchase, makes no sense whatsoever!!
  18. Am I seeing things, or was there no segregation? When they scored there were celebrations amongst the crowd in different areas, imagine that these days.
  19. A manager from yester year would have offered him a contract and paid him and his agent a huge signing on fee, describing him, as the next Pele or something. At least we have to be thankful for small mercies, this lad has been sent back to the equivalent of the 7th or 8th tier, where he seems to belong.
  20. Not certain, but that might have been Grimsby. I think he was born there and something rings a bell abut him scoring two, in his home Town.
  21. I think we ended up with Ossie Ardiles too, around the same time.
  22. Duncan McKenzie, all those years ago. Pure quality, even at his age then.
  23. It was Salgado who I was referring to as well.
