  1. For those who need a reminder and those who have never seen it, here is a link to a story about our initial transfer dealings under the then, new ownership. People on the inside back then, were prepared to go public about such matters, but sadly that is no longer the case. I suppose we were lucky back then, that we had an agent who used to work free of charge. Perhaps we just have someone now who doesn’t tell us about the fees we pay for our bargains. https://www.sportingintelligence.com/2012/01/15/revealed-the-letter-that-exposes-the-history-of-blackburn-rovers-crisis-150102/
  2. Remember the “bargain” we got with the Rochina signing from Barcelona. I remember the agents fee at the time, being way out of line with the norm and questions being asked about it. Its strange how our players somehow leave for bargain fees or free still, even though these lessons have been learned and we used to be badly advised.
  3. I remember from the very early days of Venky’s tenure, that a company called the global 11 were involved in some sort of third part ownership scheme. I know that the Formica deal was rejected at one point, due to this and was later accepted due to it being presented in a different format. It was around the time that West Ham were also involved in something similar, with Tevez. I do wonder, given the reluctance to accept offers for certain players and also given our propensity to go for the odd “Marquee” signing, if there is still some sort of hidden third party type deal, still in the background somewhere?
  4. He will be very lucky to get back to the UK at second tier level now. He was never going to cut the mustard in La Liga, as it’s not too far behind the prem, at the very top.
  5. It’s a great feeling tonight to be feeling happy again, with a Rovers performance. Disappointing as it was, we looked far better at the back at Cov and that continued today. As has already been stated, QPR were poor, but you can only beat what’s in front of you. I was really chuffed for Dolan. Granted he has his limitations, but his last two games have been far better than the previous few. Hill looks like a decent loan, Walstead a lot more Assured than Pears and I think we have found a gem in Siggurdson. Another decent game from Szmodics too, who is justifying the faith the manager clearly has in him. Enjoy your night guys and up the mighty blues.
  6. A big ten minutes coming up. Keep it tight, stop their momentum and we could get a couple more.
  7. You are absolutely right. The poster did state that big changes were on the horizon and we could expect a brighter future. What exactly where you promised and are you prepared to accept that like the rest of us, Roverite, you were also fed a lot of bullshit by Waggott?
  8. The two Ian’s. That offer they made would look so tempting now and I do wonder if Venky’s regret refusing to listen. a I did have a chat to Ian Battersby, shortly before that offer was made and I’m certain, it was genuine too. I guess that ends further weight to my theory that they are hiding something.
  9. There has to be a willing seller and it appears that everyone and his wife knows, they do not wish to sell. Exactly why they don't want to sell is up for debate, as it makes no sense them staying around, to either lose £20m per year, or reduce the funding and see us begin to falter. For what it's worth, my theory is, there is some dark secret hidden away and would come out, if due diligence was carried out.
  10. Horrible news that and I hope you and your family can rally round her give her the support she needs and you support her to a full recovery. Its a terrible illness, all the best, I’m sure we are all wishing you all the best on here.
  11. This is precisely why the people who spout the we should be grateful to Venky's line, need to have a serious look. Where we would be without them? Probably at home to Someone like Liverpool in the premier league with almost a full house.
  12. It does beggar belief really that the powers that be allow it. Maybe with hindsight at play, should Chelsea have been allowed to benefit from what now appears to be laundered Russian funds. Surely a line has to be drawn somewhere.
  13. I agree and I have to say when I saw then celebrating, I could not help myself wondering if it felt right to them or not, or if the are all turning a blind eye. Given who they were playing though, I guess it could have been labelled the blood thirst derby.
  14. I guess this article suggests that certainly some Newcastle fans ate bothered about who owns them and in my opinion, quite rightly so. Newcastle United’s Blood Money Takeover – The WIRe (wordpress.com)
  15. I do draw the line myself sometimes, hence me saying what I have about how would I feel if I was a Newcastle fan. It doesn't feel right to me, being funded, by a regime as bad as their owners, but if it was Rovers, I would find it hard to turn my back on a club, I have supported for over 50 years. I would definitely be bothered though, as there are limits on the integrity of certain practices.
  16. I guess it depends on what owners we want. Not too sure how I would feel if I was a Newcastle fan right now, as for me an an outsider, the ownership does not feel right.
  17. Arbitro will know, but I thought both hands have to be on the ball and have it under control
  18. Oh come on. He has had his best half of the season so far. Hardly put a foot wrong and been very lively,
  19. You are missing a decent game. I’m at a loss how people are saying we are poor. Apart from the finishing, we have been very good.
  20. Once again, that figure contradicts an earlier reply, one of our posters on here got, as he was told a similar number to Walsall was expected. He has therefore by default knocked around 2,000 himself, so would love to know how he explains that one. I know Glen and also the trust have meeting with him in the not too distant future, so assuming they can take a copy of contradicting posts from here, he should have some explaining to do.
  21. He probably does and will drop it into his next comment about the bus. ”Had we got in who we wanted and not got rid of some, we would need a double decker”.
