I did think at the time of his appointment that he was a yes man and Waggott had just gone for someone, who would just accept his lot. For that reason and for some of the awful football served up, I struggled to take to him, last season. I doff my cap to him, with regards to how well he has done this season, especially with what he has had to work with. I do agree with a lot of what you have posted though, as he would have been very naive, had he not known what lay ahead.

Good to here you recovered. -
I know we want a good goal scored but didn’t think we were signing a Gerry Hat trick. He gets 3 every game.

We should piss the walking football cup.

I find that a lot more likely than unlikely and not too sure why you think the way you are. Think Lambert and JDT as we all know they were given false promises, which is how things seem with Eustace. It is the managerial version of Maguire and O'Brien, as in promises made and then an about turn happens and it a lot more frequent than promises being kept.
-
As mentioned in another thread, I spoke to someone, working at a fellow championship on Wednesday and he told me that WBA approached us with regards to taking Eustace as manager and were quoted a compensation figure, that they were not prepared to pay. I fully agree that he won't be short on offers and that one tells us exactly that and he will no doubt be very miffed, if that was blocked and he now pays the price that a poor window will ensure and his reputation suffers, even a little.
-
Spot on. It is definitely, laying the gauntlet down, to them two, but what now of we sign no one of consequence this window, which is likely to happen?
-
It is the JDT version of calling Waggott and Pasha out this, in my opinion, only a lot more subtle.

John Eustace - our head coach

I think we now have another manager, who no longer really wants to be here, who has his hands tied behind his back due to the lack of transfer activity. Eustace is no mug and knows his reputation will suffer, if we start to drop down the league after this window. Whether he comes out and has a go after this window, remains to be seen, but just like the fans, but for different reasons, he will almost certainly be deflated at the end of the window. -

Obviously not, as a figure must have been provided and declined by WBA. Like you say, fairly predictable. -

I spoke directly to a scout of a current championship side, yesterday, who is also a former player and pretty well connected. He told me WBA had made an approach and the compensation figure there were quoted, put them off, as they were not prepared to pay it. I suspect that is why, he has now drifted, but I can imagine he will not be too pleased, given the likely pay rise and move to a club closer to home. I am pretty sure that is accurate, knowing the person who told me, as well as I do. -
From what I hear, it is Pasha who stops the deals, despite giving the recruitment team the agreed budget. Perhaps WATR can verify that.

I think it’s a touch harsh stating that JDT lost his way. JDT got pissed off being given shite to work with, so played them at their own game and eventually moved on and paid to do so. The same will happen with Eustace and we can’t suggest he lost his way can we, if he gets next to nothing in this window and we finish half way or worse? Sadly blaming the manager for losing his way, is exactly what the powers that be, want us to think, a bit like the Burnley fans gloating about our record against them, since this ownership racked up. This version of Rovers is nothing like the one, who spanked their arses, for years, but the club has not lost its way, it has just been infested for a while. -
He could go Schlupping every week, with the other new signing.

I think he is taking the Michael.

Suhail Shaikh / Pasha / The Shadow Man
lraC replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It has been stated in the transfer thread, that he is the one making the final decision on everything and is therefore responsible for things like the transfers breaking down and by the sounds of it the ground falling into disrepair due to his decision not to allow expenditure required for such matters. Whether he admits to that or not, or has a title fitting of essentially deciding the very future of the club though is debatable. He needs to become a but more visible in my opinion and also admit to what he is actually responsible for, hence the JDT quote form last year "Ask Suhail and Steve". -

I think JDT was relatively controlled for a while, whilst still getting his point across especially in the press. This seems to be how Eustace is right now. I have a feeling he will blow though, if he gets badly let down this window and it already feels like he is getting his point across in the press, as we have seen with the list. In the event of him leaving due to not being backed, the new man will be wheeled in, fans given another round of what direction we are heading in and away we go again. Plenty have said Suhail needs to be targeted if change is to be brought about and I think we saw how he reacted when called out by the trust, so I do agree with that and perhaps another vote of no confidence being threatened needs to take place, if the above, does play out.

My current favorite is the explanation that we receive funds for out going transfers in stages, so what looks like £20m or £10m doesn’t really count. We always pay all of the incoming deals up front though (yeah right) so we need to buy cheap, or free.
