  1. I for one am looking forward to this game, 2 - 0 to Rovers - I wonder if Fergie's "groin strain" will rule him out - I would not mind seeing Matty / Stead play up front with Nelsen at right back.
  2. Let's not beat about the bush, Rovers were poor - Bothroyd / Gally could still be playing on an empty pitch and would not have scored, Savage was lucky to still be on the pitch and did Lucas hand ball in the area late in the game? We really do need to keep Fergie and get a striker imo. I am incandescent at Winky Wanderers attitude - Spit should have been off for the elbow, Haim looked as if he had felled by a lumbar jack on several occasions but the worst offence was the 2 footed lunge a la Gerrard by Nolan on Savage - that could have snapped his leg in 2 and all he gets is a yellow card. The " penalty " was a farce - spit fell 2-3 metres after going around Brad - he should join the Olympic Diving Team. If that is how they play in Bolton, thank goodness I follow another team , I would be mortified to admit to following that bunch of thespian divers.
  3. Rovers board will have little sentiment - I cannot see Matty getting an extension, I think the club have been outstanding so far in supporting him, however it seems clear that his injury has permanently affected his cerebral functioning. I will never forget the goal he scored away at the Reebok in the Nationwide when Rovers won 4-1, the feint followed by the ball whistling past the keeper. I wonder how many leagues he may now drop to find an employer.
  4. Close game - I would play Nelsen - more muscle than Lucas as I expect to see Davis play against us, 1-0 in a tight game - wonder who the ref will be ? - could a card festival again.
  5. Good signing - the whole business has been handled in a disgraceful manner by Brum, shame he cannot play at St Andrews this season. What odds would you get for him being red carded against Wanderers ??
  6. Assuming he passes his medical, I will be the first to volunteer to chaffeur him in his Lamborghini on the Wrexham run - we must make him feel welcome by matching what he was offered to stay at Brum.
  7. I would guess Todd until the summer then to be replaced by Savage, goalkeepers do not make effective captains due to their limited mobility.
  8. Will Rangers do a buy one get one free package ? - with every midfielder comes a quality centre back who can, if all else fails be used to cook food ? Barry you know it makes sense - take Amo back to the promised land that is Ibrox.
  9. Hughes will take the FA cup seriously I am sure, 3-1 to Rovers, I could not survive another penalty shoot out this season.
  10. I will go for 1-0 Rovers, tight game with few chances.
  11. 2-0 to Rovers, MGP to play a blinder, Stead / MGP to score - I must add that I am not particularly good at this prediction game.
  12. What planet is Bruce on? Has he only just got to grips with what a transfer request is? Fancy the very thought of a player not wanting to be at a club any more - that stinks! It's disgraceful. Bruce would not win any Mensa competitions with statements like that!
  13. 2-1 to Charlton, sorry but I think Charlton are a step above us in quality.
  14. I would be happy with a draw, Cole for the Villans and Emerton for Rovers.
  15. Good afternoon out at the Freezeblock, fantastic piece of skill from Dickov to score, Nissa and Todd were untroubled all afternoon, they limited the Trotters to long throws by JJ and dealt with Boltons set piece threat impeccably. Have a feeling that the club has turned a corner under Hughes, with a couple of extra players , comfortable mid table looks increasingly likely.
  16. 1-0 to Rovers, don't care who scores or how as long as we get 3 points.
  17. It will be interesting to see if Dyer was onside and I think Brad could have done better with the free kick. Official web site reporting Bothroyd injured yesterday and Reidy doubtful for Tuesday with an ankle injury - cue MGP ??! Brad - 5 has played better Neil - 6 solid game Todd - 7 kept PK quiet, likewise Ameobi in the second half and scored! Nissa - 7 good performance - Bellamy was certainly ineffective all afternoon Emerton - 6 still an enigma - very reluctant to try and take on his marker Reid - 6 some decent runs early on Flitcroft - 6 battled away but went AWOL on occasions - also needs to practice shooting - too many Row Z specials Ferguson - 8 - my MOM, looked comfortable, great free kick to Dickov for a change Dickov - 7 irritating and niggling as always, good finishing for the goal Stead - 5 will it will work out for Jon? - a couple of decent efforts in the first half , tried hard but faded badly Thommo - 7 brought some impetus and urgency to midfield, managed to avoid being booked Gally - not on long enough to impress Shame to see Souness being booed every time he entered the technical area and no Shearer. Messias replacement by Mr Rennie took far longer than the allocated extra time. Will a point be enough ? - time will tell. Good crowd of 29,000+ Bring on the Breezeblock - about time to convert 1 point into 3.
  18. 2-1 to Rovers, Bellamy first and then Emerton / Dickov, Bramble red carded for kicking Dickov - let's hope for a bumper crowd, good reception for Souness and a late Christmas surprise for him - no points to take from East Lancs. Then bring on Horwich Wanderers - hopefully they will have been stuffed by the scum and their losing streak is maintained agaisnt us .
  19. 1864's summary is good, I came away pondering how Everton are 2nd and we are flirting with relegation - they had one meaningful attempt on goal, tried to kick Rovers into next week and their 2 shaven headed midfield generals were runing round more like plucked turkeys than supposed accomplished footballers. Cahill was poor,Bent had no service and was Kilbane on the pitch? Positives for Rovers - Emerton took the Pis out of Stone down the left, Todd and Nissa looked assured even against the lumbering Hulk Ferguson, Flitcroft brought some steel into midfield and Brad seemed to more in charge of his box than of late. However - still not convinced that Dickov / Bothroyd will score enough to make us safe before the trip to Spuds and there still seemed to be a lack of conviction in the midfield when it came to taking on a Toffee - too often they ran square or passed backwards. Still I am reasonably happy tonight with other results going in our favour. I am looking forward to the Barcodes and we have to go to the Breezeblock with increased hope - their form has been worse than ours recently.
  20. 1-1 , Bent and then Bothroyd would be a good result for Rovers.
  21. Got our tickets today - there is still a choice of upper / lower tier available.
  22. Not sure why but optimistic about this one 2-0 to Rovers, Lawro says 2-1 to the Eagles - lets prove him wrong again.
  23. Teletext are reporting that Ledley King may not lay due to a foot injury - more good news for Rovers.
  24. Hopefully Spurs will be cream-crackered after their extra time in the Carling Cup- 3-1 to Rovers, Keane for them with that irritating celebration in front of the BBE then 3 second half goals from Stead / Emerton / Reid.
  25. 2- 0 Cole / Boa Morte - sorry but I think Fulham's front line is too fast / experienced for our back line.
