Although I wouldn't take quite the pessamistic view that Jim usually does, I'd certainly agree with him that the tournament was too long. Ever since the competition was expanded to 24 teams there have been too many meaningless games. I think I'm right too that some of the best games were played whilst I was at work so, for me, I can't really remember the pulse racing too much (with the notable exception of watching the last 20 minutes of the Australia v Croatia game). Though, if I'm honest, if the team you love has such a bad tournament as England had, all the games could have been thrillers but it wouldn't have stopped my feeling of been underwhelmed.

For those posters who think the drummers need lessons in timing, may I suggest that you take lessons in accoustics (and specifically the speed of sound)? Chants that start at the back corners of the BBE are killed off because of the the time they take to travel to the ears of the drummer. By the time his moronic bangings to make their way back to people who actually have something positive to contribute to the atmosphere everything is out of time. You could have Larry Mullen Jr or Charlie Watts keeping timing; it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.
