Deeply worrying. JDT gone in the summer. Will Broughton bring in a proper replacement or someone he can control -

Look at our bench and starting lineup to see where the blame should lie and the deeper issue. Game is not played in a vacuum - coventry would throw everything at us and the changes were to deal with that. With Sorba, Brereton and Dolan on the pitch we have players to counter-attack. With our bench i think we made the changes available to us -

🤣 Think i would have remembered that.. -
Fair play - they did the job, board made a good appointment (not so clear cut at the time), the admin team did their job and everbody really bought into ”do everything we can” including the players. Rovers - look and learn ffs even if it is 10 years late. 2 seasons in a row that we have been in a good position in january only to fuck it up. IMO our head coach is the least culpable and i will be surprised if he stays here if there is not a serious change in recruitment policy/routine in early summer

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

I would say that we have a more skillfull set of players but the others have more strength (physical and mental), more depth (look at Norwich subs today) and more balls/bottle as you point out. often i find the phrase “men against boys” springing to mind but many of our players have 100+ senior games behind them 🤔 -

Agree with much of what you write but not sure about the bit i highlighted. We know our team can mix it when everyone is fit and in form but our squad is pretty thin and we have few leaders that can drag the rest along when it gets tough. JDT is hamstrung but i agree that ”balls to the wall” should have been the tactic today and for coming games -

Wondering if Conte has a severance clause? Could be that sacking him at any point triggers a decent payout and from his perspective why not try and make it happen… -

Read before the game it was must win - we won. On to the next one… Credit to JDT and the players - would not have 10p on us last summer being top 6 with 10 matches to go. However it enda - i hope he stays next season.- 9495 replies

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

If true that Greg B identified and recruited JDT then hopefully he, should the need arise, will be picking the next one as well. Until then I hope JDT gets what he wants/needs in terms of player recruitment -
Does Broughton actually have that remit or can he only suggest changes to the very people that cocked up?
-
Anyone else get the feeling that Broughton will be deemed responsible and removed/resign in the summer so that the circus can carry on? Now we know why he wasn’t exactly comfortable doing the video about the appeal/failed transfers

Wonder how much cash they wasted on this fantasy adventure?

Priorities for the summer
Roverthechimp replied to wilsdenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The issue is unlikely to be Venkys refusing to pay for a pitch. Think more about a decision regarding upkeep and a suggestion that the budget for that be raised by a factor of 100 That would probably cost Waggot his job. Much better to say a request has been made that he refused and saved them x millions Good boy - pat on head and owners feel good that somebody is looking after their pennies… -

Make sure that JDT stays- preferably by signing players for positions that he has prioritized… -
Would the 28th be 14 days after the request for arbitration and, according to the regulations, the last date for it to be held in accordance with the EFL rules? 🤔😉

January Transfer Window.
Roverthechimp replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Agree - the story is a win-win for the idiots at the club. The only question is why BB hasn’t signed the Villarreal deal. If it is because of family then i think it is a reasonable deal for the club. That the club is using it to distract from catastrophic failures on all levels of admin is also clear. -

And from one of those 3 players we heard that an offer was forthcoming but too late (and probably too short of a deal). So all things considered I find it plausible that we would offer something to someone already expected to have a better option in place… That it comes from Nacko makes me think the real offer will be about 18k a week -

We might have done but at that point he was being touted for PL riches can imagine we made offers for 2+1 year around the 15-20k mark but his agent told us to do one on the, reasonable, assumption that he could do much much better. As it is now - if the player is hesitant about a relocation and form is not there then the agent is doing his job by exploring options ”in accordance with his clients wishes” whilst possibly improving the odds for a successful and lucrative move. -

Do we know that the Villareal move is ”big money”? Can actually see it being less than most PL clubs and a good few championship clubs although maybe not 5 years -

1.5m all in for a 10-20 goal striker for one season is pretty cheap (imo) Consider that it is not much more than the total cost for a decent loan Of course at a normal club it wouldn’t be necessary but we are Rovers 🤣
