Don’t think he’d want us either and we certainly wouldn’t be able to afford him if he’s after the sort of money he was on at that lot. But how on earth can you say you wouldn’t want him? If it was possible which it isn’t he would be levels and levels above any manager we are going to be able to realistically appoint. He’s got two promotions out of this league and has kept a championship squad in the Prem for years and got them into Europe. It’s okay to say it now he’s left the Dingles, he’s a top manager who’s done absolute miracles and like I said, he’s a level above what we’ll be able to appoint in the summer. I’m actually baffled you’d say you wouldn’t want him.

Are we currently a more attractive club than Coventry? I don’t think so, it would be a bit of a sideways move for Robins. Ismael has recently took over at Besiktas and Daniel Farke I’m not sure would want to come here.

Sparky’s time here was unbelievable but I think his time as a manager at this level and of course the one above has been and gone. I’ve also seen a lot of his ex players speak really poorly about him as a manager. I will always respect him for what he did here, as a player AND as a manager but it should be left as such. We’ve only ever made appointments from the bargain bin under the Venkys and I expect that to stay the same, I don’t think Ainsworth would be after fortunes so from the poor options we’re likely going to have, I think he’d be the best we could hope for and he’d certainly be a popular appointment for a lot of our fans. Our chance to get out of this league has been and gone this season and we aren’t likely to get another for a while.

Luton’s next two are Huddersfield and Forest. It’s not over yet for us, on paper anyway we still have a shout.

Looking at Everton’s run-in you have to feel as though we’ll be playing them next season and not the Dingles.
