After figuring a few bits out, think I'll just do a Rovers save. When I can afford a better machine to run other leagues, that's when I'll go all out and try the Pentagon. But this will be my FM for a few years unless they do a console one.

Up and running! A bit slow but I'm not after super fast playing, just casual. Aiming to take Chester to the Champions League.

Yes, I'd be using it for FM and literally nothing else. Just realised an alternative. I have this netbook: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04999120 I was given it as a teacher for OpenOffice and browsing. If I uninstall all non-important files/programmes, and install Steam (can store the files on an ext hard drive to relieve some burden), reckon that would be good enough? Not bothered if it runs a touch slow, or about quality match graphics (I still admire the 3d engine in fm14 ffs).

Right... If I want a laptop/netbook SOLELY to play FM (no other function necessary), what can I get for as little as possible?

You can change one result in Rovers' history....

The FA Cup semi vs Chelsea. Every time. A Wembley appearance on top of all else Sparky achieved here would've been amazing. -
Well I outlined above it's an assumption I made when I was 14 and haven't given it any particular thought since, not that I could care much less whether he is or isn't. He might be, he might not be. I can't particularly remember the circumstances of seeing them, but either I saw them being flirty OR my horny hormone-ravaged self thought I saw that. Certainly not intended as a malicious thought and if it was just a business partner or a friend then I was (and am) mistaken. You seemed to assume I thought he 'must be gay because of how he looks', which is what I was annoyed by. My actual point was that given my assumption that one of our players was gay (meaning I doubted it was unique or that anyone thought less of him for it), it's a shame we live in a society that still somehow allows homophobia to slip through. We can agree that it's a weird point in time where it would probably benefit wider society for a player to come out as gay AND YET we shouldn't expect that or be bothered if they do. Weird world.

Based on seeing him with the same man at my late uncle's restaurant fairly regularly when I was a teenager. Could've been business or just a mate ofc, but I assumed it was a boyfriend at the time. Not sure I like the implication of the question, mind. I certainly don't think gay people have 'a look'.

I made it clear to my missus that Rovers, Golf, and Wrestling are my first loves. They got me through hard times, and were there for me when my exes weren't. Happily she likes football (but a Dingle), and keeps trying golf (reckon I can convince her to get lessons), but she'll never understand my love of 'men rolling around in trunks' though...

If they did, they'd get my money every year.

My dad puts it more diplomatically: 'Had Edwards survived, Moore would've played second fiddle in the England defence.' However, more controversially, he adds: 'If the crash had never happened, Edwards would've trounced Finney as the best player ever produced on British soil.'
-
Most likely, yes, but what happened to him happens to no pro ever. 99 other times out of 100, he'd have been safe. I'm only just learning about using statistics to inform my own game, and (until lockdown) was seeing fantastic results. IE: play to 'your game's rather than 'safe'.
-
Statistically 'playing safe' is the worst way to play.

Loved him on ISIHAC

I'm practicing keeping my takeaway more 'out' rather than bringing it in. That way, as I drop from the top I come from inside. Producing a slight draw at the range, but unfortunately not been able to get on the course yet this tear. Even the ranges have shut now.

Wish we were the same, unfortunately golf is completely locked down too. Not that I've ever been within 2 metres of another player thanks to my wicked slice.

Personally has to be THAT Tugay goal vs Spurs. Mickey Gray up on the right wing for some reason, cut back and crossed it in. The usual pinball heading occurred before a Spurs defender took the sensible decision: 'If in doubt, head it out'. However, the phrase is not 'If in doubt, head it out to their best player.' But not even the most optimistic Rovers fan thought the next 5 seconds would happen. So audacious was it, that as the ball dropped from the heavens, nobody truly thought even the maestro would attempt it. And yet he made perfect contact with a horizontal volley, the ball unmoving, not spinning even slightly, as it flew past a flailing pre-Rovers Robbo. https://youtu.be/_5oLISbbemA

How are resident golfers coping with the lockdown? In the absence of the Masters, I've been watching highlights from my favourite golf the last few days. Namely: Masters 2005, Ryder Cup 2012, Masters 1980, Masters 2019
