  1. One of my ongoing criticisms (not necessarily as a negative, but as a point to improve on) that remains, and was a constant annoyance to me when I was on the RT board was that while we were ‘critical’ as much as ‘friend’, it was very difficult to publicise the ‘critical’ side without coming across sniping. I feel that the problem remains, as even the criticism of the club comes across friendly, or gets mixed up in the ‘friend’ communication. But since being out of the loop, I can see how it can come across as more friendly than critical.
  2. I don’t think they do, and I don’t think they care. Their main focus is the money leaving India for England. If they feel it isn’t justified, they won’t allow it. That it potentially means asset stripping (as if they haven’t already been up to that in some form or another by neglect), or selling any asset worth a damn to stay afloat (or not) is irrelevant to India.
  3. My pet project of the window, Matt Ryan, seems set to join Derby 😭
  4. Given the speed with which the club plastered their social media with the stars that made the England team (Ella Toone, Keira Walsh, Georgia Stanway), will the club seek to put right its petty and poor treatment of female players, in banning them from using a coffee machine the men are free to use, and forcing them to share portaloos with the academy boys?
  5. I posted in another thread: I would hope we are planning to hold the club to account for the apparent sexist allegations being levelled by prominent ex-players and staff. Not being allowed to use the coffee machine because it ‘belonged to the men’? WTF is that about? The cheek of Waggott telling ANYONE ‘to be grateful’ to get money out of the club is the biggest case of pot and kettle I’ve heard in a long time. I would hope we continue to remember the ‘critical’ part of being a ‘critical friend’.

  7. @RoversTrust Waggott needs asking if he’s really that much of a cunt this is true.
  8. Doncaster I think? Wheelock might’ve been Chester?
  9. Just get @Miller11 in with the Marketing Prospectus!
  10. Looking more and more like a tosser as the tournament progresses.
  11. I was told I couldn’t use this as a criticism. I ‘could have saved up, you knew STs were coming out’. Turns out other people feel (and have acted) as I have.
  12. Don Goodman is one of the best commentators in the game.
  13. To what extent are @RoversTrust asking questions about this court case? Are we asking Rovers to clarify the statement made weeks ago, as the implications of that statement appear untrue.
  14. No, they should serve as a permanent reminder that nobody gives a shit about Rovers apart from us fans.
  15. Absolutely understand it, and agree with you. But at the same time, the Trust has struggles for years to get people involved, so someone like that getting involved was going to be inevitable if no fucker else can be arsed to put their money where their mouth is.
  16. While I too disagree with the guy’s view in that tweet, I would suggest that anyone feeling he shouldn’t be on the WATR board should have nominated themselves so that a vote, rather than confirmation, could’ve taken place. If you want to get involved then actually get involved!
  17. ‘There are no restrictions apart from this really fucking major restriction.’
  18. In the football message boards, we don’t allow politi- Oh…
  19. Do you mean specifically Venkys funding the club from their own pockets? Because they are requesting to be able to do that (which makes the club incorrect).
  20. Hands up, got ‘what they said’ wrong. As above 👆 But I still believe their assertion is incorrect, ie: Fake News.
  21. I agreed with your assessment of what was said, and therefore disagreed with @Forever Blue’s assessment. However, I must now point out we’re both wrong and @Forever Blue was right re: what the club ACTUALLY said (even if we believe they are incorrect). “The owners would like to assure all Blackburn Rovers supporters that the club will continue to have their full support in the short, medium and long term. “The ongoing court case in India is now related only to technical and procedural issues involving Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt Ltd (VHPL) and should have no future impact on the owners being able to continue to fund the club. “Even through the extremely challenging times of the Covid pandemic and during difficulties encountered last year, the owners have always supported the club, which will continue as and when they are required to do so. Finally, the owners would like to take this opportunity to thank all associated with the club for their support and have full belief under our new head coach John Eustace we can have a strong end to the current season.” I was wrong on what the club said. However, I believe they are incorrect. The court case directly influences funding Venkys are allowed to put into the club because it is a request to be allowed to further fund the club.
  22. Fake news. That’s not even what the club said. If you’re going to accuse others, get it right yourself.
