In a meeting with me, as acting Secretary of RT at the time (October 2021), he told me verbatim: 1.'Businesses and commercial is more important than fans in the ground'. He dismissed my response that a full ground would be more attractive to sponsors and other commercial opportunities, surely? 2. 'NFTs are the way forward for us to generate more revenue', despite that technology having peaked around 2015, so clearly behind the times. 3. He justified his belief that 'fans in the ground aren't as important anymore' by telling me he was a Hull fan, but his son supports Arsenal because of a YouTube personality he likes. I replied, that just meant he couldn't market his own club to his own son, so how can you market BRFC to ambivalent commercial interests? Again, no answer. 4. He also insisted 'there's nothing special about BRFC compared to other clubs'. Now while I understood that he was repeating the outsider view, it occurred to me that he SHOULD know what is special about BRFC and how to sell it to commercial interests (halves are relatively unique, most successful town club in the world, and our most significant rivalry is with the last town club to win the league before us over 60 years ago). 5. He reeled off a list of marketing qualifications, and wasn't happy when it was pointed out (can't remember if it was Duncan or John) that Simon Williams (our most successful marketing person in recent decades) only had a BA and wide-ranging experience and proof of results from a marketing standpoint, rather than giving me a list of letters after his name. Basically a bloke full of ego and bluster, but no results.

I honestly thought he was shit, but maybe it's a generation thing? Loved Paul O'Grady, mind.

Not my bag I'm afraid. Not keen on using animals for sport.

Keep one of them (ideally Ketchup), sell the other, and challenge u23 keepers to step up to the bench. Wage bill reduced again. Plus hopefully some fee for Raya's sale. -
Serves him right. Slagged off Solksjaer's coaching staff; 'He's got Michael Carrick, no experience'. He's just battered you 5-0 mate.

Undone by three things so far: Luck against the run of play. Our inability to finish. Their goalkeeper. -

Ballsy move... If it doesn't work, I'm at least impressed he's trying it. -

He's been a very good defender from Jan until the most recent international break. -

That looks interesting although I'd possibly view it as Trav at the back of the diamond, with Wharton and Morton (hopefully) given freedom to roam forward. What I DO like is we could bring Dack into this formation if necessary (not today due to injury). -

Looks good to me? It's either 4-3-1-2 with Sammie behind Breo and Dolan or 4-3-3 with Sammie in the middle, Breo left, Dolan right? -

I genuinely think (for all of JDTs faults) we're in a much better position than I expected last July. We haven't yet (but still could) taken advantage of our position, but I can accept that given the limitations of our squad. We have been exceptionally lucky that we have a superb academy backing up and assimilating into our first team. Thomas, a goalscorer, a bruiser up front, a proper midfielder, a LB, a GK (assuming one of Pears/Kaminski leaves) is my wishlist for the summer. -
