I’ve only properly seen Bucko at Rangers when he came on. I’d seen all the comments about him on here so I was watching out for him, and I was very impressed. I can’t say he made me as excited as an in-form Rochina (for me, the most exciting player we’ve had whilst I’ve been old enough to understand football properly), however I could definitely see him reaching well above Ruben’s levels. I’m glad he’s staying, and I look forward to being furious he’s not a regular starter come February (barring injuries)

At this stage of a transfer window, with the attacking line we possess, even the middle of the park, we shouldn’t be settling for not supporting two clubs who have 35 minutes at the time of writing to practically avoid ceasing to exist. The lack of defensive reinforcements, be it loans or permanents, is frankly embarrassing given our GA column last season. Here’s hoping something changes by Friday!

He said a lot about Chapman being immature (for want of a better word) with regards defensive duties in his first spell, so I would imagine he believes Downing’s age and experience has given him some defensive ability. Not entirely sure if that will work, the idea that as a player gets older they somehow learn to defend, but we wait and see.
