How do you know JDT had the final say, other than some other failures at Ewood told you this in an interview when they were probably trying to save their own neck. If you can find a quote from JDT I’ll admit I gladly admit I was wrong. Something you haven’t done on the 3000 minutes target quote from Rudy.
-
So we don't know that JDT signed off on Telalovic over La Liga man. And we certainly don't know (the main point) that JDT was happy with either.
-
The likes of Vale and Markanday will be 24 at the start of next season. To put that into context, Shearer was 24 when we started the 94/95 season. Jansen was 24 at when we got promoted and started the Worthy cup winning season. They aren't teenagers anymore. They should be almost at their peak now.
-
How do you know this, but more importantly, how do you know JDT was actually happy with either? I doubt JDT will have come out and said it, unlike Rudy actually saying on camera that the target for academy players is to get back to 3000 minutes in the first team.
-
JDT wanted another striker all summer. On deadline day they probably said "It's Telalovic or nothing". He could have said no, but when you are in the last 12 hours of the window there will be an element in desperation as to whether they are 'wanted' or not.

Tracking our (outbound) loan players 24/25

Stanley fan at work said Batty looked decent when he played. Would love him back but knows it’s highly unlikely. -
Gestede actually said:- "The plan for our squad is to give as much (acadamy minutes) as we can. The year before was 2000 minutes for our academy players, almost 3000 minutes the year before, so now we want to go back to those numbers." That, as @roversfan99 says, implies that we do have an objective of getting back to 3000 minutes.
-
I’d rather Stockport, just for another local away game next season.
-
They’ll probably sell Pickering and promote Batty. And before someone says is he ready / good enough, they don’t give a shit. It cuts costs and hits their targets. As Rudy said, exciting times.

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

You watch him come on for West Ham this season and he looks a shadow of the player of just 2 years ago. Even without the bastard baggage, I’m not sure how much is left to justify the huge wage it would take. -
What are your expectations for next Season?

Baath and Weimann being replaced with kids or cheapies. Not beating any of the promoted sides away. Making a mess of Preston away. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Trav getting injured at Millwall. The start of the rot. Baker leaving a few games later and then Tronstadt getting injured compounded the lack of depth in that position. Plus Baath getting injured. If either of those two didn’t happen we’d have done it comfortably. -
In general, Blackburn with Darwen had the lowest gross disposable income per head of all Lancashire in 2021. It was one of the lowest in the whole country. So of course people in all areas of the UK feel financial pressures, but on average there is less spare money to go around per person in this area than other parts of the country.
-
I imagine CB number 5 will be O’Riordan or one of the academy lads.
-
It won’t have been my first game as Dad will have taken us to many games before this one and I would have just played down the front, but my first game I can recall being at is the Man U cup tie in 85.

BRFCS Player of the Season - 2024/25 ⚪️🔵

Is it based on average rating across all games? Or most POTM won throughout the season? -

Sanderson is a very “blood and thunder” type of player, but I’m not sure how good a defender he actually is. He did a job to cover injuries when we brought him in, but he’d be a 4th / 5th choice option for me, so I’d only bring in if it’s dirt cheap and we don’t fancy our academy lads as squad cover. (As per @Exiled_Rover post above which I’ve just read !) -

Kargbo might come on next season, but hasn’t contributed much this season and wasn’t what we needed in January. Rubeiro was the only bright spark in that window. -
From where we were at the start of the season , success From Christmas , failure.

I wonder if replacing Baker with a suitable replacement would have been worth 2 points. Still, at last they saved a few bob to help towards their KPI's -
It’s not important. It’s just my preference.
-
I meant the only reason for wanting United to win was to stop Spurs winning anything and keep that run going.Thats why I would be a bit undecided. Same reason I wanted Liverpool to beat Newcastle in the League Cup final.
-
United have just got fortunate with opposition red cards in the last couple of games. Lyon would have beaten them with 11, and should still have beaten them with 10 but for a spectacular collapse. Bilbao went down to 10 and fell apart. Loving the implication that United have been regularly embarrassing themselves in the league infront of 70,000 paying home supporters, and getting dumped out of the cup at home to Fulham, just to concentrate on the Europa League. Spurs could still screw up an all Premier League final, but if it happens I’m not sure who I’d want to win. Probably Spurs, but I do like these supposed ‘giant’ clubs not winning things for years and years.

Cantwell is OK but massively over-hyped. I don't know what he was like when he was younger to get the reputation, but he's just a decent Championship player. I'm still not sure what his best attributes are meant to be as he gives the ball away and get's dispossessed far too easily. Technically comparing him to Adam Wharton is clearly unfair, but someone like Tom Cairney was leagues ahead of him on a technical level. Rothwell had more drive. His vision isn't the best. When he signed I felt it was a coup and we were lucky to have him and that it would probably be for just one season. Now I'd be surprised if someone with genuine promotion aspirations came in for him. However, like Dolan, if he left the chances are the replacement would be unproven or unready.
