  1. Dont get me wrong I'm not coming from this as a JE hater. I said if he keeps us up lets see what next year brings with him and thats still where I am. Nor do I think it wasnt time for JDT to go. The dressing room had clearly been lost. But my general opinion is once we had players returning from injury we would have picked up a little bit under JDT. With Dolan, Gallagher, Hyam, JRC and Pears back, plus we had added McFadz and Chrisene, I dont buy in to we were definitely going down. I genuinely believe he would have achieved the points total Eustace did albeit he wouldnt be performing at the PPG level of the rest of his Rovers spell. But I do think his time had run. Eustace has come in and achieved the points total to keep us up. There were a lot of holes to be picked in the performances to do that, but now he can bring players in to really suit how he wants to play so from next season we will see if his own identity can come through and achieve more than a full-on relegation battle. It's just knowing what I know now, if I was a championship side with a good level of ability in my players gearing for a proper promotion push I would rather have JDT than Eustace. If I had a limited squad who needed motivation and togetherness to outperform their ability then I'd rather have Eustace. Rovers sit in the middle but slightly towards the latter of those two scenarios, hence the constant bickering by people for and against the two managers.
  2. The point about footballing abilities is correct, but JDT's coaching records at Malmo and at Rovers already are superior to what JE has achieved as a coach, and he also took Rovers on their closest run to promotion since Venkys took over. SS was very diplomatic all around in that interview but he clearly believed in what JDT was doing on the pitch. There's little doubting his coaching ability in that area. It was ultimately his man management that let him down and his refusal to change from his footballing beliefs when injuries and fatigue built up. It's a very good watch actually. I put it on last night to skim through it and watched the whole lot. Especially liked Big Sam calling the Rovers / Burnley derby "evil".
  3. I spent almost all of JDT's reign saying he was stubborn and had no Plan B and you denied it. Now Szmods says it suddenly it confirms it.
  4. Let's hope his very short term ambition is to be a Chief Exec. Can't be any worse.
  5. Hmm. So they sacked him to stop him blowing the whistle. An action which would probably make him more likely to blow the whistle. Ok. Got ya.
  6. That’s the whole point. They can’t. EFL rules state they have to give us 2000 or 10%, whichever is smaller. That means they have to give us 2000, which is practically all they give us anyway.
  7. Went to Whitehaven School and sixth form then Bolton Uni. I presume therefore he’s moving closer to “home”
  8. Just jumping slightly off topic but the Dingle at work has now accepted they are probably going down. He's claiming they will only give Rovers 1000 tickets next year and leave the rest of the away area empty as payback for their reduced allocation at Ewood in 2023. "You're not allowed mate. It's a 2000 allocation or 10% of your ground, whichever is lower" "Well you didn't give us 10% of your ground. So of course we can. We're just doing the same as you did." 🤡
  9. 🤣🤣🤣 Blackburn, Leeds, Norwich, Forest, West Ham and Manchester United interested. Ok then. Next.
  10. McGuire probably looks at how Sheff Wedneday ended the season to stay up and thinks "if only I'd not got in that taxi from Sheffield to Blackburn".
  11. Stoke starting from £344
  12. Brereton late on away at West Brom late in the game last season, but that’s the only one I can recall in a long while.
  13. From the outside that appears bonkers.
  14. BBC - Could Palace's Wharton make England's Euros squad?
  15. I've watched a few Palace games since AW went there and they seem to be a good partnership. Wharton just pins the midfield whilst Hughes can get around the pitch more. I agree on last nights viewing Hughes probably caught the eye more, but what I liked in Wharton is that we saw a lot more of the side of his game that was supposedly lacking a little at Rovers. We know given more of the ball what he can do, but we saw a good level of discipline. I still think of Hughes as being the kid that broke through at Derby years ago. Just checked and he's 29 years only and now played approaching 200 games in the Premier League. He's been a good, solid pro without ever being in any kind of discussion for a spot in the national side.
  16. Especially one that already has over 50 appearances in league football. I’m all for loaning players out to gain first team experience, but he already has it.
  17. Whenever I see Rotherham, Rathbone looks pretty poor. I don’t think he’s Championship standard. However when he plays against us he’s like prime Roy Keane.
  18. Wonder how many Sheff Wednesday and QPR fans who wanted their previous managers gone could have named Rohl and Cifuentes? Not many. Therefore how did those respective clubs manage to find managers who did such an excellent job? It’s almost like those clubs had people whose job it was to specifically know more about football coaches than the fans do.
  19. A bit like Dack, it took him a while to find his feet, but once he did it’s been a superb season and a half. He’s in the prime of his career at 28. Without wishing him away, if he’s going to have a crack at the Premier League it probably has to be next season. And if he does good luck to him.
  20. To be fair Leicester did exactly the same as Norwich, and did it infront of their own fans.
  21. Begone horrid season. But fair play to the 11 on the pitch today and the manager.
  22. But everyone told me that we were safe on 49 points, and no way we would go down with 50 points. It was a billion to one or somethings. If we concede here I think we go down.
