  1. Sorry, I can't help recalling what he said was the worst day of his life...
  2. Honestly, we just won't know until the season builds up-Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday etc... I am absolutely positive that a risk assessment carried out on this season's squad would show a likelihood of key injuries ( e.g. to centre halves) as pretty high and the the severity of the consequences of such injuries, as very high..... Meanwhile, I was delighted for Scott and Hayden.... And I have just listened to the LT podcast and talk of supporters needing blind faith. The problem is that Blackburn Rovers is an earthly business -not "the panting heart of Rome"!
  3. No the "fixation" is on what seems to be Suhail and Gestede's dumbing down agenda and the fact that we will be here again in less than two years. Endless fresh start syndrome....
  4. I heard Stuart Metcalfe say "Blackburn"...and he was Rovers through and through. I think this is what the yanks would call a nothing burger...
  5. The Scott Wharton thing brought genuine joy, as we watched on TV... And I ended up telling my offspring about the League Liner and a previous away win at Watford with goals from Endean, Napier and Field... Over 50 years ago!!
  6. It's not all rosy again, but I do think there is something in what you say. The buzz of a win lances the boil/diminishes the energy for the (necessary) protest......temporarily..
  7. Agree totally. Even when I was boycotting under Kean and Coyle, I still kicked every ball and cheered any Rovers goal! Surely, it is possible to despise Venky's, have grave misgivings about Gestede and Suhail...yet enjoy a good away win... On the other hand, someone said to me yesterday, it's a bit like getting a lovely new guitar, when you have just received a terminal diagnosis! I guess it is summed up by the old phrase: "Love Rovers/Hate Venky's"..
  8. Eustace would be a good shout!
  9. I think Tavares will be able to play his way up to speed. He has clearly got something... Nzonzi took a while lol
  10. β€œWhat's that smell in this room? Didn't you notice it, Brick? Didn't you notice a powerful and obnoxious odor of mendacity in this room? There ain't nothin' more powerful than the odor of mendacity. You can smell it. It smells like death. Tennessee Williams
  11. I think we have been badly let down by local radio and press..
  12. Agreed. I can't help wondering if there is a deliberate functionality in the actual churn produced. Who gains etc?
  13. Yeah, it might be handy if the flags were not blocked at the entrance...and I witnessed this happening to a supporter of many years with a completely non-abusive flag...
  14. Honest questions..Do you think that the plan enacted by Suhail and Gestede will make Rovers a better team? What is your assessment of the risks entailed?
  15. So....20% to the selling club, 20% to the surgeon....60% to the agent?
  16. Sounds great. Can I order ten of the blue ones with the "Gestede is a gobshyte" logo?
  17. And they are busy trying to sell it as a reasonable decision! Also, we have history of selling two centre halves and relegation..... Gestede is a gobshyte...I just can't listen to him without needing to find a hole to be sick in...
  18. Next, the club will be doing a deal with Scales funeral service
  19. I remember someone telling me years ago that Nixon was in cahoots with the agents...and to be wary of the agenda behind any Rovers related transfer story...
