  1. Coyle is a key part of their strategy, so no contradiction there.
  2. Before the season I drew a conclusion and several months later I see no reason to change my mind. Appointing Coyle= Certain Relegation
  3. Goodbye England's rose; may you ever grow in our hearts. You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart. You called out to our country, and you whispered to those in pain. Now you belong to heaven, and the stars spell out your name........ FFS, Reg....I hope you are embarrassed!
  4. The King was right. I don't take anything these shysters do at face value. There always seems to be another agenda, apart from getting the best possible team with the best possible manager.
  5. Re being taken for fools, I agree. As for me, I have never been in Deliverance and I don't aim to start now..(.pigs, squeal etc)
  6. Interesting.I also noticed the hundred mile an hour babble, answering his own question almost before the interviewer's one was asked. What I don't know is whether this is how he always deals with interviews. But taking this, alongside his amnesia about a certain agency, I am inclined to agree.I would love to interview him, cutting through the meaningless (nervous?)babble to press home a question or two.... Back in 2011-12, when you took time out to condemn the Blackburn fans' treatment of Steve Kean, what agency were you represented by? Steve Kean, himself, said that you were both represented by SEM. Why do you think he might have been under that impression?
  7. They must have meant a sigmoidoscope!
  8. Now if Brutus and Cassius were from Shad.....
  9. Yep.And I remember another significant occasion where a team that only just survived began the following season significantly weaker. As if that wasn't bad enough, we then proceeded to let Emerton go, refused to play Salgado etc...Thanks Venky's!
  10. Years ago I remember a really strange set of results over the last few games, contriving to send the seemingly safe Tangerines to the third division....
  11. Goal difference means it might as well be 10 points.
  12. Absolutely. I won't have him in the house. However, I am afraid your comments apply to so many of the football pundits.Nicholas and Merson are my pet hates. Jason Roberts OBE (guffaw) descended through a few trap doors after his Quisling comments about Kean and Venky's. As for Savage and Murphy......
  13. That is my fervent hope. Why would they have gone to the trouble to appoint Lambert and co, if they were not going to take BRFC a bit more seriously? Why would Lambert have taken the job, if he had no guarantees? But then again, why buy a famous club just to destroy it? Why Kean, why Barnet Spiv, why Agnew, why Singh, Why Portugueezers...why, why why, f****ing Delilah?!
  14. To get the full 100% it should have been done much earlier LOL
  15. "Son, you're forgetting yourself..." LOL
  16. Apparently, the creator of Captain Pugwash was absolutely gutted by the urban myths about Roger the cabin boy and Seaman Staines etc, who never existed in the original. I am sad enough to remember that the cabin boy's name was Tom False titles are only too relevant on here......Steve Kean, the football manager, The Walker "Trust".......I am sure you can think of more
  17. Not sure about this,Stuart. Yes, the fans could organise a strategy, which might include different methods of protest etc, BUT we all know who the owners are.Kings of upside down perversity and arrogance. A few years ago, we escaped the drop by the skin of our teeth. Venky's response?......not only did they leave Kean in post, but weakened the very squad that only just survived. Even after the Bolton game, Kean remained. After relegation, yes, you've guessed it..and somewhere along the line, he even got a new contract, as if to show the fans they didn't count In the end, when Kean disappeared, they hadn't sacked him. I think he even took them for constructive dismissal.
  18. Not quite, PB. Before the Tranmere game in November 71, we believed in men like Bancroft and Furphy. This is a different world. No trust, no belief...
  19. "If I had the wings of an angel"... Personally, I was always struck by the powerful contrast in the next line.....
  20. Yeah. Remember Gordon Lee before a home game with Charlton? Something about Northern grit being too much for the London outfit
  21. Absolutely.Mainly good but certainly mixed.A bit of a paradox.... Kick-ass, promotion, Worthington Cup....then fall outs and physical fights with players. Did he break his hand or was it a foot after an incident with one of his own players? Yorke, I think? The Rovers fans away at Newcastle were chanting something like "See what Souness left behind!" We were definitely going down, if he hadn't left. I will always remain grateful to him for his achievements, though
  22. I am the same and I have been called a football fascist for my views about glory hunters! What right have I to decide who other people support?... blah, blah... I was in the Hare and Hounds a few years back when Rovers suffered one of their customary, dodgy refereeing decisions at Old Trafford. Anyway, this Utd fan was celebrating- OTT- in front of all his Rovers supporting mates...they were all only 18 or so... I should have known better. I waited until he had stopped and everything had quitened down. Then, in the politest, most charming, avuncular voice I could muster I said. "Excuse me , mate. Do you mind if I just ask you something?" When he acknowledged me- innocently- in front of all his mates, I asked,: "What part of Manchester do you come from?" Cue... All his mates turned on him, howling abuse, catcalling, saying that he lived in Mellor! The kid was so angry . He started swearing and calling me all sorts. Into every young life, a drop of rain must fall....or something.
  23. Well he certainly got these three wrong uns. Maybe there are seven other Rao children with modesty, emotional intelligence, intellect integrity, inclusivity, good taste and communication skills?
  24. Granada ..95% sure
  25. If Frankie Howerd set up an accountancy firm.... Re Ian Battersby, in the words of Mandy Rice Davies " he would say that wouldn't he?". Mr B's strategy must be to try and engage the V's. Inn his shoes I would take the same line, I guess. Right now I don't feel like being strategic..the whole thing has been rotten from the very start. To quote my youngest during the infamous Spurs game.." Why did they have to buy our club?!"
