  1. Speaking of Garner's, Joe has just scored yet another one for Carlisle. He must have a good ratio now! EDIT: Jeff Stelling on SSN has just told all the viewers that Joe Garner has scored another for Carlisle and he is the son of Simon Garner the famous Blackburn Rovers player and Joe is on loan from Blackburn at present.
  2. This is true but Sav is not as safe in the tackling dept as the Axe. He gives away a lot of silly fouls.
  3. I wonder how long it will be before Manure's main fan base demands that OT be dismantled and re-built in Surrey or somewhere down that way. Saves a lot on travelling for the vast majority.
  4. Still it's great to see Matt Derbyshire get some well deserved recognition. Plus he will get the chance to play in the first match at the new Wembley; might even be the first to score there!
  5. Especially the January and early Feb one's. I wonder if we will get any honest retractions?
  6. So the obvious thing is to stop comparing them and asking who is "the best" and imagine instead how if we had both of them it would benefit us as a team.
  7. Does anyone actually know for sure what his perfomance for Rovers was (1st team only)? i.e. Number of starts, subs, and goals.
  8. Kanu for free and 10 goals looks pretty good value as well
  9. Nonda seems to be a complete enigma; he scores extremely difficult goals that nobody would ever expect him to, and completely misses the easiest chances that I am sure even I at my present age could convert.
  10. Just one little problem; now he's gone and told the whole world that that's were he usually puts them. All Prem keepers get your notebooks out!
  11. Jan: I do know a footballer when I see one, and what I saw when I watched Grabbi in the Rovers colours was a player with a strikers instincts but lacking in confidence most of the time. He did very occasionally seem to forget his fear and produce the goods. An example being his performance against Man U. as discussed earlier in this thread.
  12. Just speculating idly here, but does anyone reckon that if Grabbi had come here recently (but just as he was then) under the MH regime instead of the Souey regime, then MAYBE things would have worked out differently for all concerned. Sparky does seem to have a talent for taking on players with unfulfilled promise and a shortage of confidence and turning them into very useful players.
  13. I was watching that match on TV in a pub full of Manure fans; I was the only one in the place shouting for Rovers. When Grabbi disposessed the clown as you say Dave, I will never forget the looks on the faces of these Mancs. Talk about jaws dropping, and I was leaping about like a loony. Unfortunately the ref soon reversed the situation, but it was nice while it lasted (about 2 secs). One of the Mancs actually had the grace to admit to me after the match that Rovers should have had that goal as there was nothing wrong with it, and that Rovers had played very well.
  14. Absolutely right Mum. Also IMHO I think Sparky has a very real and genuine affection for Blackburn Rovers. Hence I don't think he will leave easily. It will, as you said, take a very special club and offer to make him think seriously of leaving Ewood Park. The media can speculate and try to unsettle him as much as they like; but if MH does not think it is genuinely the best thing for him, he wont even give it a second thought. And I really can't think of any other manager that you could say that about.
  15. I know I am thick, but please humour me. Firstly who is Joey Deacon; is he a member or past-member of BRFCS? Scondly are we saying that Joey Deacon is joey deacon? How has this got altered? I typed "Vinjay" where the bold bits are!
  16. Joe Garner just scored for Carlisle away to Leyton Orient. (15min) SSN
  17. As things stand right at this moment the answer to that particular question is ........ never! They ALL need to be persudaded. At the end of the day the paying mugs (ooops! sorry that should be customer) are the only one's that ultimately can do this. Thinking caps on time for us mugs!! See my earlier post near the top of this page.
  18. This is yet another instance of the never ending bias against all but the "special ones" i.e the clubs that the sycophantic media fawns and drools over; we all know who they are! The question is what can the other clubs or their supporters do about it? Surely the time has come for some kind of organised and co-ordinated protest to be made with maximum publicity. Something along the lines of: A mass boycot of all prem matches by the fans of aggrieved clubs accompanied by the message "Get this sorted out properly and permanently, or this protest goes on until you do". Would require organising by the Association of Football Supporters or some such body. The protest should also consist of all aggrieved fans stopping buying any newspapers until they back the action. Just think if ALL the fans of say 14 EPL clubs did this and stuck to it, it would be sorted out in quick time!
  19. This is the very reason why so many once committed football fans are turning their backs on the game. I would say this is the prime reason, with costs being a close second.
  20. At the moment I can't think of anyone better suited temporamentally to the job than Stuart Pearce. Not too sure about his coaching skills or tactical nouse.
  21. I almost agree with everything you are saying aboveT4E. But have to point out that although you may be right about the quality or attitude of the playing squad, it is ultimately the responsibility of the manager to manage these things and more. Therefore if there is a persistent problem in these areas, and the manager cannot resolve it satisfactorily in a reasonable time then there is nothing else for it; he HAS to go.
  22. The thing that worries me most is the fact that the players that were out there for England last night mostly play well for their clubs. Why don't they play well for England? The only answer I can see is ....McClaren!! Get rid of him NOW!
  23. 18.6m??? I wouldn't give you £18 for him!!. the number of times he gave the ball away, and when he did have it going forward he either blasted high or wide, or passed to where there was no England player with a hope of collecting it. On last night's form he would not be good enough for a Pub team. And to think some of us on here moan about the Axe!!!
  24. Great to see that Bentley was given MoM, he definitely deserved it. Nugent and Milner also were very good, and the only other one that was fairly good was Reo-Coker. The defence was crap! We are very soon going to get the media and his agent trying to unsettle Bentley so be warned!
  25. Hearts are already in trouble. They are now well on the way to having nothing but Lithuanian staff and players, and have already alienated virtually ALL the suporters.
