  1. I remember an interview after his last game as caretaker manager at United where he announced he was leaving the club. He was saying something about needing a break from football at that point (IIRC). I wouldn't be surprised if Lancs Live are just using comments from that.
  2. I would certainly not think that was the case. He's said that he's made the choice to do it. He's not a high profile name for the papers to be threatening to out him. There must be much higher profile gay footballers that presumably people within the game know about.
  3. You'd also assume the potential £15m coming in would be in instalments as well.
  4. The odds make me laugh on Skybet: Michael Appleton - 20/1 (Surely he's not done anything since leaving here to justify another go) Rob Edwards - 25/1 (Hasn't he just got the Watford job?) Sam Allardyce - 33/1 (This would seem fairly unlikely)
  5. They sold Matty Cash for £16m and Arvin Appiah for £8 in that time.
  6. 100/1 with Skybet last time I looked. Same price as Arsene Wenger.
  7. I saw an article this morning suggesting Mark Warburton would be a solid appointment. I don't want a solid appointment. I want high risk/high reward. A solid appointment is never going to get us promoted. We need to take a chance if we ever want to go up.
  8. I was wondering this as well. Don't know a lot about the guy, but he appears to have had 19 different jobs, only 3 of which have lasted more than 50 games. His successes all seem to have been in Portugal and nothing particularly outstanding when he's been at Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea.
  9. The BBC reporting that he's signed a contract for the 2022-23 season. Someone in the comments said it should have read: 20:22 - 20:23
  10. We're all hoping for a Farke, Ainsworth or a Dyche.... Then the Hodgson/Judan Ali joint management team gets appointed.
  11. 😂 It's been awhile since I've heard that name. He was always in the betting when the job came up!
  12. Absolutely not. Coyle has assembled a terrible squad.
  13. Bowyer - the one with a worse win percentage than Mowbray with a squad including the likes of Paul Robinson, Grant Hanley, Josh King, David Dunn, Tom Cariney, Jordan Rhodes, Ben Marshall, Shane Duffy and Rudy Gestede. Should have been getting promoted with that squad.
  14. I wouldn't trust any of Sharpe, Nixon or Rovers into admitting/knowing when the recruitment process was starting. Rovers are bound to claim they've only just started recruiting. It's like your divorce becomes messier when your wife realises you were recruiting her replacement before you split up.
  15. He's been the best manager we've had under Venky's (even if that isn't saying a lot), but it was time for a change. All the best Tony!
  16. I'd expect another month or so of calm going by how quickly this lot do anything.
  17. I'm not sure what Premier League clubs would take a chance on him at this stage. Same with Chris Wilder - if you get sacked towards the bottom end of the Premier League, it seems that other Premier League clubs won't take a chance on you.
  18. Thought Dyche was nailed on for Watford. I was fully expecting Rob Edwards to be one that we would go for with who his agents are. I'd definitely be having a go for Dyche.
  19. On the brink of league one.....a massive 3 points from safety with only 15 games to claw it back. Whilst Coyle was certainly the main reason we were relegated and he left a poor side....Mowbray wasn't without fault. There was plenty of opportunity for him to keep Rovers up.
