  1. You'd be pissed off if you were Ainsworth and Ferguson was picked before you. Absolutely nothing to suggest Ferguson deserves a shot more than Ainsworth. What's George Weah up to these days? Can he not put a call in on Ainsworth's behalf?
  2. Wilcox is one who intrigues me. He comes very well in interviews but does he actually have the desire to get into first team football management? He seems to be managing a lot of people at City - but not necessarily in a footballing capacity (as daft as that sentence sounds).
  3. He finished above Liverpool and Klopp with an inferior side the season before last.
  4. Recent United managers managing 20+ games (win percentages): Ferguson - 59.7% Mourinho - 58.3% Solskjaer - 54.2% Van Gaal - 52.4% Moyes - 51.9% Rangnick - 37.9% He doesn't necessarily strike me as a top manager, but better win percentages than Van Gaal and Moyes suggest he's not that bad. They finished above Liverpool and Klopp in 20/21. I'd certainly take him over some of the names being linked.
  5. Automatic promotion in his only full season and then sacked in December after a poor start in the Premier League. We should be dismissing the likes of Farke, Dyce and Wagner as contenders if being a success in the Championship but struggling in the Premier League counts as a failure.
  6. It's also where Huddersfield got Jan Siewert from though. That didn't go well.
  7. Wasn't David Bentley the first English man to score at the new Wembley - playing for England U21's?
  8. Let's make it a fair comparison - win percentages in the Championship. Farke at Norwich - 51.4% Mowbray at Rovers - 36.2% They do have similar records in the fact that Farke has won 71 Championship matches with Norwich and Mowbray has won 72 with Rovers. It just took Mowbray an extra 61 games to get that 1 extra win.
  9. Speaking of top 2 divisions, I heard a stat the other day that Rovers are now the only club in the top two divisions that haven't played at the new Wembley. I've not checked the validity of that, but assume it's correct.
  10. Completely agree. I used to be bored to tears watching us under Allardyce. There were games when we wouldn't look like scoring unless it was from a long throw, corner or free-kick. By all means, use the likes of Samba to add a few scrappy goals a season from set pieces, but don't become totally reliant on them. Was I glad we got rid of Allardyce? Yes. Was I glad we replaced him with Kean? Obviously not. Having said that - I'd take Dyche in our current situation.
  11. Joke - a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline.
  12. Perfect end to the season 😂
  13. Ben Brereton Diaz, Dan Butterworth, Tyler Magloire and Jordan Eastham have all been informed that the club have taken up the option to extend their registration for a further 12 months, keeping them contracted until June 30th 2023. Bradley Johnson, Jacob Davenport, Harry Chapman, Luke Brennan, Connor McBride, Sam Durrant and Joe Nolan, along with scholars Joe Ferguson, Brandon Lonsdale and Evan Cunningham, will not be retained upon the expiration of their current agreements, whilst Joe Rothwell has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer. Rovers remain in contract talks with defenders Darragh Lenihan and Ryan Nyambe, however as both players are over the age of 24, they are entitled to discuss their options with other clubs.
  14. The Ben Marshall one is a fascinating insight though.
