  1. I'm not sure what Premier League clubs would take a chance on him at this stage. Same with Chris Wilder - if you get sacked towards the bottom end of the Premier League, it seems that other Premier League clubs won't take a chance on you.
  2. Thought Dyche was nailed on for Watford. I was fully expecting Rob Edwards to be one that we would go for with who his agents are. I'd definitely be having a go for Dyche.
  3. On the brink of league one.....a massive 3 points from safety with only 15 games to claw it back. Whilst Coyle was certainly the main reason we were relegated and he left a poor side....Mowbray wasn't without fault. There was plenty of opportunity for him to keep Rovers up.
  4. I'd be replacing Benson with Billy Mercer after Burnley got rid of him. He's done alright with Heaton and Pope there.
  5. Well if he's going - you pay him up and replace him. Do you want us to wait until his contract runs down and then bring the new manager in? The season starts exactly one month after his contract is up. They should be issuing a statement one way or another and getting him replaced asap.
  6. Well if the Championship team of the season is anything to go off - it should be him and Lenihan* as first choice, with Wharton as back-up. EDIT* - I've somehow got it in my head that Lenihan is staying. Not sure why.
  7. We've certainly got a bad track record of trying with young managers. Paul Ince - 40% win percentage at Macclesfield (did a great job to keep them up), then a 60% win percentage at MK Dons. Henning Berg - 41.6% win percentage at Lyn, 31% at Lillestrom. Only appointed due to his connections with the club really, although he's been fairly successful since. Michael Appleton - 25.5% win percentage at Portsmouth and 16.7% at Blackpool. No idea what we were thinking there. Ince in theory was the appointment most likely to work going off his previous record - but he struggled to fill Hughes shoes (or his own suit).
  8. Blind optimism considering we don't have a clue who the manager will be or whether players like Lenihan, Nyambe and Brereton will even still be here.
  9. A Jermaine Jones type player alongside those two would be incredible. I was gutted we didn't sign him permanently at the time.
  10. Well I went for a few: Ainsworth - Think he's done a remarkable job with Wycombe whether he's a Blackburn lad or not. Deserves a chance at a bigger club. Farke - Would absolutely be my first (realistic) choice. Proven at this level and a good style of play. Manning - Got a great win percentage over his career, plays good football and a young, upcoming type of manager. A gamble, but maybe that's what we need. Roll the dice! Hughes - Purely for the old romantic in me and you'd think he'd be interested. In reality, it's probably not a good idea to go back there. Dyche - Probably would take him over Farke...but doubt it would happen. Be brilliant to have him taking Rovers up as we watched Burnley slide down.
  11. Ryan Lowe - he's only just started at PNE, not going anywhere (although I think he's probably the best of the bunch) Callum Davidson - his stock was very high last season after winning both cups, but they've had a poor season this year Paul Warne - Done a decent job at Rotherham, but doesn't fill me with any excitement Steven Reid - Saw he'd been linked with the Wimbledon job the other day (I think), but no experience. Avoid. Kenny Jackett - Not the worst option, although his last job at Leyton Orient wasn't his best.
  12. I see they've released Connor Ripley as well. If we suddenly announce he's signing, I'll know Mowbray is hanging around.
  13. I don't think you'd get a response if you were Steve Waggott 😂 You're not Steve Waggott are you?
  14. Presumably the sort of son that you don't get to watching playing football on a weekend....because you've dropped him.
  15. Well they didn't know you could get relegated from the Premier League....maybe they think we are still in it?
  16. You've got to remember that the list on there is the list the bookies have come up with, not the club. Our list is probably even less imaginative. Mowbray Pulis
  17. It feels to me like it's Del and Rodney trying to become millionaires. We will try for years to get to the Premier League and if we finally get there, we will realise it's not actually any fun when we just get hammered most weeks.
  18. Not for me. He's done nothing since he left Leicester. Derby - 14 games (Win % 21.4) OH Leuven - 56 games (Win % 32.1) Watford - 22 games (Win % 31.8%) Bristol City - 61 games (Win % 27.9) Not a great record over the last 7 years.
  19. I can't see him ending up back as Celtic manager this summer 😉
