  1. Ben Brereton Diaz, Dan Butterworth, Tyler Magloire and Jordan Eastham have all been informed that the club have taken up the option to extend their registration for a further 12 months, keeping them contracted until June 30th 2023. Bradley Johnson, Jacob Davenport, Harry Chapman, Luke Brennan, Connor McBride, Sam Durrant and Joe Nolan, along with scholars Joe Ferguson, Brandon Lonsdale and Evan Cunningham, will not be retained upon the expiration of their current agreements, whilst Joe Rothwell has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer. Rovers remain in contract talks with defenders Darragh Lenihan and Ryan Nyambe, however as both players are over the age of 24, they are entitled to discuss their options with other clubs.
  2. I'm not his biggest fan, but over the last four seasons he has failed to start in 33 games and we've only won 7 of them. We definitely do better when he plays.
  3. Cedric Kipre is available again, though I don't think he's had much game time over the last couple of years.
  4. Just saw a clip from the Undr the Cosh with Mark Atkins. He said Alan Shearer came in on £10k a week when Rovers were first promoted to the Premier League and he was on a basic wage of £1,200 a week. Different world to now.
  5. Exactly that. but are unlikely to have the same bearing as they did during their last managerial search Clearly they picked a manager last time that was happy to work with existing coaches. Now it is being suggested a managers willingness to work with existing coaches won't have the same bearing. Pointless sacking them all and giving them a pay-off and then realising that the new man coming in really rates one of them as a coach. Let him decide who we keep.
  6. Definite downgrade on Van Hecke, but if we could persuade Lenihan and Nyambe to stay, it would be excellent having four defenders that have come through the youth ranks competing for spots (Lenihan, Nyambe, Wharton and Carter) - then you've got the likes of Phillips coming through as well. We do produce some decent defenders. I think Carter can play at right back as well?
  7. "Conversations over backroom staff are expected to form part of the discussions with the new manager, but are unlikely to have the same bearing as they did during their last managerial search" I'm reading that a bit differently to most. I'm taking that as, "We've not got rid of them yet (in case the new manager wants them), but if the new manager wants to bring in his own backroom team, then we will discuss it with him".
  8. It'll be exactly that. Most managers leave via 'mutual consent' these days - presumably they agree somewhere in the middle.
  9. Didn't even remember he resigned. His contract suggested that if he resigned - he would have to pay the club 12 months salary. Wasn't he kicking up a fuss suggesting he'd been forced to resign by the fans, presumably trying to avoid paying that.
  10. Perhaps it's just a case of Mowbray picking his mates again then.
  11. It does add to the theory that they don't actually want us promoted 😂 "We won't go up with that clown in charge" "He's actually won a few games" "Get rid of him"
  12. Is he all that? Serious question, as I've not seen anything of him at Rovers. I know he was highly rated a few years before he joined us, but it worries me that he's seen as being below Pears in the pecking order. You'd be as well putting a mannequin in goal rather than Pears.
  13. Probably some kind of massive gambling syndicate that can fly under the radar when we're not in the top flight. Would explain some of these terrible runs we go on.
  14. Forgot that one. Edinho Jr was the worst of them for me. Maceo Rigters level of quality.
  15. Carlos Carvalhal as manager Pears Orr Nuno Henrique Daniel Ayala Sam Gallagher Petrovic Sacha Petshi Fabio Nunes Koita Nuno Gomes Edinho Junior I realise this is unrealistic. Daniel Ayala won't be fit.
  16. Just looked at the managers win percentages of anyone appointed since 1960 (blue ones are Venky's managers). Dalglish unsurprisingly top - but he had the backing. Ray Harford - top coach, but did a very poor job with the squad he inherited. Mark Hughes - what a top job he did and a wonderful time to be a Rovers fan. Roy Hodgson - considering he spent a fortune and his reputation, he was a disaster after that first season. All in all, of the 28 names on the List - Venky's were responsible for 5 of the bottom 9 (win % wise). I realise it's all relative and it's not a completely fair comparison, but I've not much faith in them getting this appointment right either.
  17. Although he has stated himself the wants to be playing Championship football next season having done time in League One - he believes he's ready for the step up.
  18. We loaned 6 in and 8 out last season. It'll be similar again.
  19. Should absolutely not be letting him go, purely on the basis of how much the Portsmouth fans rave about him. Would save us buying at least one defender.
