I still don’t see what he offers. Apart from the odd run with the ball (before getting it stuck under his feet 9 times out of 10), he’s woeful. As I say, with Dack injured, Arma aside we have zero goals in the side.

Yep, simply has to be number one priority now. Then back-up GK, Garner and perhaps a Graham replacement and we’d be laughing. Of course we could do with better strength in depth at LB, RB and CB too, but I don’t believe we’ll have the money nor the time.

By all accounts he was injured early in the year, fit after the Covid restart, but they didn’t play him as they knew he was off. I didn’t realise that Ayala initially joined Boro having been ‘scouted’ by Mowbray, but then signed by Venus who was in the caretaker capacity.

He’s certainly not been great since the tail end of last season, but it’s certain to say we’re a Lenihan injury away from being up it without a paddle! I’d even expect the same lack of urgency in the market if it did happen.
