  1. Where I’m (trying to) remaining optimistic is this streaky culture that Mowbray seems to have cultivated within the club. We’ll be due our decent run soon(ish) and hopefully that’ll be enough to get us over the line. I don’t think it can come after the Fulham match in 4 games time - we need to get a win and build on it sooner than that. Saturday is the ideal time to do that. Lose or draw that and I fear we could be in for the long haul.
  2. Yep. They aren't coming for anyone to be honest, apart from Buckley! Mowbray talks as though we pepper the opposition goal and carve out fantastic chance after chance. It was only in the dying stages against 10 men Swansea that we've done that since the turn of the year.
  3. Given we have Sheff Utd and Fulham away coming up - Sandwiched between is QPR at home - this has to be seen as a must win. No: "a draw isn't bad", "we'll put the point in the bag and move on", "Millwall are a decent side". We need to return to scoring and winning ways before we're out of the play-off positions, which lets face it will be quite likely if we don't get a win this Saturday due to the next three fixtures. Win this and who knows where that momentum takes us for those three very tough matches.
  4. The ace in his pack is his niche left peg, which IMO is a huge reason as to why he'll end up in the PL.
  5. Wharton. Top defender but pretty useless so far at attacking from set pieces. We really need these CB’s to start chipping in with the odd goal given our midfielders and attackers couldn’t hit a barn door at present.
  6. Yep. Bit of an odd one to bring in, in hindsight given the way we play. His biggest asset is his crossing yet we don't have Kieffer Moore steaming in to get on the end of his deliveries. I imagine Pickering will be back in at the weekend and Giles will then make do with random spells at on the left of the front three.
  7. Get the sense that TM isn’t happy with Ayala: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19924332.blackburn-rovers-tony-mowbray-explains-daniel-ayala-decision/
  8. Bang on. I’ve absolutely no doubt on Saturday night if we draw against Millwall - at home no less - that the same folk will be on here saying ‘it’s a decent point’. We need to win some bloody football matches, starting with this must win at the weekend.
  9. TWO goals in 8 league games. Feck me. Broken record, yep, but we don’t need more firepower eh.
  10. That decision to not bring in a striker (NOT Markanday Gav!) looking better by the day.
  11. The obvious choice tonight when Ayala pulled out would be Carter in at RCB / Nyambe RWB. But hey ho.
  12. 6’4 striker constantly played out wide. Classic Mowbray.
  13. Lost 6-3 in the end and as a result we're out of the PL Cup. All we had to do to progress to the next around was avoid defeat by 3 goals or more and they scored in the last minute!
  14. Love this. Good to see I'm not alone!! Come on lads, let's make it a bloody good night all round, and turn this form on its head.
  15. Really torn on predicting what’ll happen here. I’ll go either: 1-0 WBA / Carroll to score after bullying our defence all match. Bruce’s first home game, WBA on terrible form = Rovers the gift that keeps on giving. 3-0 Rovers. We’ll turn it on again at some point and if we are to win I don’t think it’ll just be a 1-0 or 2-1. Get the lead against them, their fans could turn a bit and they could well crumble. COYB, we have to get back on track.
  16. Just seen on Twitter that the lad is getting rave reviews at Pompey - they absolutely love him. Comparing him to Clarke and Webster who both ended up at Brighton for a lot of money.
  17. Reading this I had to wonder if I was actually on BRFCS! https://www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/general/qpr-fans/2572283-barnsley-match-thread Seems like they’re expecting the worst now and are also upset at their failure to bring in a striker in January.
  18. Who’s the chap who used to be on here that responded to every bit of news like this with: ‘who is his agent?’ Always does make you wonder at Rovers though under this lot, how some get done and others just don’t.
  19. Didn’t realise quite how tight it was getting below us…queue of teams only circa 5-6 points behind. We need to turn this slump around and fast.
  20. Yeah, I'd hoped he wouldn't return to type with the delusional post match pressers, but he's back with a bang. "We created loads of chances". For my money, we created one really decent opening all match. Forest had 6-7+. It was like the Mowbray of pre 21-22, where if we win the possession stats he seems to think we batter teams, when in reality we get to their final third and sh*t ourselves.
  21. That was the Lenihan from previous seasons last night. Brain dead, rash, frustrated. So, so unprofessional and the exact opposite of what we needed from our leader.
  22. Agree with all of this. You and I spotted the desperate need for more firepower yonks ago, yet nobody at the club seemingly did despite having a glaring opportunity to address things in the transfer window. The other thing about his handling of Nyambe, is Ryan is clearly a well liked member of the team, one of, if not the, longest serving players at the club. I can't imagine a few at least will be happy with TM's man management here and we need every single person at the club pulling in the same direction at the moment. He is one stubborn old goat at times.
