8th and 70 points in 13/14 is the best we've managed, if memory serves. You don't win any awards for half a season. -

After the 0-0 with WBA I remember saying we'd be out of the playoffs in a month's time. Genuinely didn't think we could be out of them before February even ended. Remarkable incompetence even by Mowbray's standards. -

Sorry but that is not a factual statement, it's an opinion. We dominated somewhat once they went down to ten, but they actually had 13 shots to our 11, and 6 on target compared to our 4. We only really had one clear chance which was a long ranger by Pickering of all players. What you saw as dominant I saw as clumsy and mostly ineffective. These are facts though: 5 games without a goal 2 goals in 9 matches 2 defeats against teams who were down to 10 men in the last 4 matches 9 points from our last 27 Down from 2nd at the start of January, 7 points clear of 7th, to 5th now, out of the top 6 if Boro or potentially Luton (dependent on GD) win their games in hand on us. Those, unfortunately, are actual facts. -

5 matches without a goal, and in two of those matches the opposition were down to ten men for at least 20 minutes. We lost both. Absolutely pathetic. Losing faith and hope at this point, but at least if we do finish outside of the playoffs Mowbray will surely be gone. If I'm being honest regardless of how the first half of this season went, I can't wait for him to be gone. I'm beyond tired of these stupid negative patterns we get into. The only reason we've not completely plummeted this time around is because we have a stronger defence - but it only slightly helps when you literally cannot score. People will say "would have taken a point away from home against Sheff Utd, would have gotten it if we hadn't missed a penalty, what more do people want" - but in the context of the match this is three vital points dropped, combined with another goalless performance. We literally can't score against teams playing for significant periods with one less player than us. I've always felt that Rovers under Mowbray have had a mentality problem. Able to fly when things are going well, completely bomb when things begin to go south and take a long time to recover. Buckley and Rothwell are certainly showing that, despite an impressive first half of the season, they can't be relied upon to be our solution when BBD is out. Neither have stepped up when we needed them. We had the game handed to us on a plate tonight and blew it. Genuinely feels at this point like we won't score for the rest of the season. Mowbray will ultimately leave this club having blew our best chance of promotion in a decade and with multiple negative records to his name. That's a reality I am 100% certain now will come to pass. -

Mowbray Out. And I'm dead serious. -
Bowyer had a major blind spot when it came to central midfield. If there was anything that sabotaged his tenure it was his inability or unwillingness to give us a half-decent central midfield pairing.

We are fucking useless without Diaz. A total one man team. -

What a horrendous tackle. Travis right in there windmilling, good to see. Even less likely to score now though. -

Considering Rothwell's recent form after Bournegate I'm not sure Johnson would be any worse. -

Gallagher just loses the ball constantly. For a professional footballer his ball control is embarrassing. -

Another 0 in the GF column here and I don't see how people can't be concerned. I'm not sure I've ever seen a Rovers team that looks less like scoring than the current lot - which is strange considering at one point very recently we were second highest scorers in the division. Was it really all down to Diaz? -
Sounds like he's doing a bit of a Danny Murphy at Sunderland. Fans can forgive lack of talent for quite a while if the commitment and desire is there, but if a player is clearly half-arsing it that is never tolerated for long.

QPR's form over the last 5 games has matched ours, I think. Fortunately they've lost form at the exact same time as us!

Missed most of Elimination Chamber, forgot it was on tbh, but caught the Men's match... Decent start, then Brock comes in roughly 9 minutes into the match, destroys everyone and wins. Lol. Lashley protected somewhat by getting 'injured' before he could come in, meaning he never actually faced Lesnar. or anybody, for that matter. No Cody debut either, which is probably for the best. There wasn't really any obvious spot for him on the card. Madcap Moss took an absolute brutal bump in the match with McIntyre. https://v.redd.it/f6ixp0pq3ui81/DASH_1080.mp4 Hopefully he's OK.

Premier League season 21/22
DE. replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Lampard is an extremely risky appointment given the position Everton are in. Risky on both sides really - Everton gambling their future on a relative novice, and Lampard with the very real possibility of having relegated Everton on his CV. -
People are obviously talking about our recent form, though, not how we were playing months or years ago. Our problem is that we are not finding a way at the moment, and the one player who consistently bailed us out with goals, helping us find our way in the past, is potentially out for a while. Keep in mind our next top scorer is Gallagher with 6, and then it goes down to 3 goals for our next top scorers. We were hugely reliant on BBD for our goalscoring, and suggesting others will step up goes against everything we've seen since 2022 began.

v Millwall (h) - Saturday 19th February
DE. replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Looking like it was going to be Buckley false 9 and Gallagher right wing again, so yeah, maybe the ref did everyone a favour. -
WTF. Hasn't he been out of management since 2014? Where did that come from? They must really want to get relegated.
-
Probably, but no harm in looking up rather than looking down. The Championship is a strange league! With that said I expect Fulham's result today will be a blip rather than the start of a TM-style death spiral.
-
Well, this isn't true in recent times, is it? We didn't find a way in 6 of our last 8 matches. You can't cherry pick the two games we did score a single goal in and say 'we always find a way'.
-
Overall another solid set of results for us today. Fulham lose, Boro lose, WBA lose (now overtaken by Luton & Coventry), QPR drop points. Sheff Utd picked up a win but can't expect every single result to go our way.
-
Tbf if we actually had anybody in the team who could score a goal we would have beaten them soundly as well. They were absolutely terrible.
