  1. Get them in for who though? Gallagher who struggles to anticipate at the best of times and is usually somewhere on the right wing? Dolan who is 5 foot nothing? Trav and Johnson who score once in a blue moon? All three centre-backs also struggle to head the ball on target, so I don't think the crossing game is one that'll bear much fruit for us.
  2. Looking like another game where we'll get hit by a sucker punch and lose 1-0. It's truly incredible how abysmal the current side without BBD is at scoring goals. We've probably never had a collection of players on the field who are this incapable of putting the ball in the net. It's impressive in some respects but intensely frustrating to watch. 495 minutes without a goal. 495 minutes! And it'd actually be over 500 if you take injury time and such into account. What's sad is that we're actually doing well at most other aspects of the game (other than set pieces, which have been pathetic as usual). We look good in many respects, but if you can't score it really doesn't mean anything. Dolan has brought some real energy to our front line and shown just how little Buckley was contributing in terms of effort lately (playing poorly out of position I can accept, lack of effort not so much). Something needs to go in off an arse or an elbow.
  3. I give up. I can only conclude we are doing this on purpose, and we actually don't want to score goals. How else do you make sense of such incredible ineptitude in front of goal?
  4. Hook Khadra and half time and send him back to Brighton. This is ridiculous.
  5. Khadra, lol. Two awful corners and then can't even control the ball. Lad is having a stinker. And yet still 475 minutes + since we last scored a goal. This domination counts for nothing if we can't put the ball in the net.
  6. Fuck me. We are never going to score again. After missing a penalty in the last match and then missing that one, Khadra is proving costly.
  7. We might as well not even bother taking corners. Just give the oppo a goal kick. Do we practice set pieces at all in training?
  8. Dolan doing more in that false 9 position in the first five minutes than Buckley did in the last 5 matches.
  9. Based on post-Bournemouth form Rothwell won't be much of a loss. Barely noticeable in the past five games and much like Buckley has not stepped up when needed. The latter certainly can't complain about being dropped, the main problem is we have so little in reserve to replace either Rothwell or Buckley. Still, something had to change. Gallagher will play whenever possible because Mowbray wasted £5m on him, sadly.
  10. We all have different opinions and that's certainly fine. It wasn't all bad tonight, but honestly despite some nice play I never felt like we were going to score, and that's very concerning. Considering our current form and our lack of goalscorers we simply have to score penalties. If Khadra is the best we've got then that's a big worry. We really need to work on our set pieces too. They are simply awful, and when a team is struggling to score from open play set pieces become absolutely vital.
  11. Our trajectory this season actually isn't too different to previous seasons. A middling start followed by a peak around November-ish into January, followed by a trough in February-March. We usually enter another peak around April, although by that time it's usually dead rubbers. Main difference this season is that our peak period was a lot stronger than previous seasons, elevating us to 2nd as opposed to usually biting at the heels of 6th. That's what makes this trough seem so much worse. We can only hope that we have another April bounce back, and that by then we aren't already too far away from the playoffs to re-enter contention. I'm not optimistic but I suppose we will see.
  12. 8th and 70 points in 13/14 is the best we've managed, if memory serves. You don't win any awards for half a season.
  13. After the 0-0 with WBA I remember saying we'd be out of the playoffs in a month's time. Genuinely didn't think we could be out of them before February even ended. Remarkable incompetence even by Mowbray's standards.
  14. Sorry but that is not a factual statement, it's an opinion. We dominated somewhat once they went down to ten, but they actually had 13 shots to our 11, and 6 on target compared to our 4. We only really had one clear chance which was a long ranger by Pickering of all players. What you saw as dominant I saw as clumsy and mostly ineffective. These are facts though: 5 games without a goal 2 goals in 9 matches 2 defeats against teams who were down to 10 men in the last 4 matches 9 points from our last 27 Down from 2nd at the start of January, 7 points clear of 7th, to 5th now, out of the top 6 if Boro or potentially Luton (dependent on GD) win their games in hand on us. Those, unfortunately, are actual facts.
  15. 5 matches without a goal, and in two of those matches the opposition were down to ten men for at least 20 minutes. We lost both. Absolutely pathetic. Losing faith and hope at this point, but at least if we do finish outside of the playoffs Mowbray will surely be gone. If I'm being honest regardless of how the first half of this season went, I can't wait for him to be gone. I'm beyond tired of these stupid negative patterns we get into. The only reason we've not completely plummeted this time around is because we have a stronger defence - but it only slightly helps when you literally cannot score. People will say "would have taken a point away from home against Sheff Utd, would have gotten it if we hadn't missed a penalty, what more do people want" - but in the context of the match this is three vital points dropped, combined with another goalless performance. We literally can't score against teams playing for significant periods with one less player than us. I've always felt that Rovers under Mowbray have had a mentality problem. Able to fly when things are going well, completely bomb when things begin to go south and take a long time to recover. Buckley and Rothwell are certainly showing that, despite an impressive first half of the season, they can't be relied upon to be our solution when BBD is out. Neither have stepped up when we needed them. We had the game handed to us on a plate tonight and blew it. Genuinely feels at this point like we won't score for the rest of the season. Mowbray will ultimately leave this club having blew our best chance of promotion in a decade and with multiple negative records to his name. That's a reality I am 100% certain now will come to pass.
  16. Mowbray Out. And I'm dead serious.
  17. Bowyer had a major blind spot when it came to central midfield. If there was anything that sabotaged his tenure it was his inability or unwillingness to give us a half-decent central midfield pairing.
  18. We are fucking useless without Diaz. A total one man team.
  19. Pathetic, but did we expect any different?
  20. What a horrendous tackle. Travis right in there windmilling, good to see. Even less likely to score now though.
  21. Considering Rothwell's recent form after Bournegate I'm not sure Johnson would be any worse.
  22. Gallagher just loses the ball constantly. For a professional footballer his ball control is embarrassing.
  23. Another 0 in the GF column here and I don't see how people can't be concerned. I'm not sure I've ever seen a Rovers team that looks less like scoring than the current lot - which is strange considering at one point very recently we were second highest scorers in the division. Was it really all down to Diaz?
