Just finished Astro Bot: Rescue Mission on PSVR. I've had it a while but only just got around to getting through it. Incredible game and outstanding use of the VR platform.

I don't think any of us need pre-season results or performances to inform us on how next season is likely to go. If we finish 21st that will exceed my expectations.
-
I was under the impression it was the opposite way around, that Venus preferred the more direct style and Mowbray was more into tippy-tappy, possession-based football.

This season, during the 2 wins in 17 run, was the first time I can remember so many fans united in agreeing it was time for him to go. For a lot of us at least a year too late, but even the most staunch Mowbray supporters by that point realised it was best for all parties for the relationship to end. Under any other owners it'd be impossible to explain why Mowbray was still here. With Venky's though, anything is possible, and for our club that is never in a positive sense.

It's just the end of another FFP cycle. Seen it all before under Bowyer and wouldn't be surprised if it ultimately ends in the same way. The only difference I can foresee is that I don't think we'll be bouncing back up at the first attempt next time. -

Honestly if Armstrong goes - and with Dack injured and no budget/ability to replace either of them - I think Mowbray could end up relegating us. It would be a very sad end to things and pretty much render his League 1 promotion moot as all it achieved was further debt and hopelessness before dropping back to the same division he got us out of. I hope I'm wrong but I'm more pessimistic about this season than any other since TM took charge. He was clearly a busted flush last season. The players know it. We're in big trouble imo. -

Remember when they said Derek Shaw had 'gone rogue' then proceeded to continue employing him in the same position? -

That's the thing, I don't think he is trying to do that. I think Mowbray is arrogant, deluded and has completely lost the plot, but at the same time I am sure he genuinely believes - as ridiculous as it appears from the outside - that he is doing the best job possible in the circumstances. The real culprits aren't in the manager's dugout, they are much further away and are the true people responsible for the club's destruction over the past decade. -

I hate that Mowbray is our manager. I don't hate him personally. -

At this point you have to think anyone who doesn't understand the issue is wilfully ignorant of it. Even the biggest Mowbray fans at the very least went silent during that horrific run, whilst many outright turned on him. Crazy that he's still here, taking pre-season like everything's OK, appointing his mates as usual, already trolling the fanbase with idiotic soundbites. He must wake up every day and thank whatever malevolent deity brought Rovers and Venky's together. -

He'd be sacked way before game 17! Even Mowbray publicly admitted he couldn't believe he was still in a job. I'm not sure there's another club in the country with owners so disinterested they don't know or care about such a disgusting run of form. -
The top six ended up making a bit of an embarrassment of the rest of the league last year tbh. Reading in 7th finished 7(!) points behind Bournemouth in 6th, and a ridiculous 27 points behind Norwich in 1st. Now granted it's not uncommon in recent years for 1st place to slaughter the rest of the division, but that is the largest gap between 6th and 7th in the Championship since the 05/06 season when 7th placed Wolves finished 8 points behind Crystal Palace in 6th.

Might as well have added to the application "must have worked with Tony Mowbray previously". Would have saved the other 86 applicants wasting their time applying. -
Even that he probably leaves up to his wife. "If the lemon drizzle wasn't up to standard you'll have to talk to the missus, I let her decide where to buy it from. I don't really believe in supermarkets."
-
Amazing how Mowbray always palms these things off onto the senior players. The bloke takes absolutely no responsibility for anything, ever, so you have to question what the point of him being here actually is. The senior players look after their own fitness, apparently, and he's also said he lets the players control the dressing room. He doesn't believe in formations either. So, what exactly is he bringing to the table?

Lol yeah, I can't say I really 'enjoyed' the game in VR... it was certainly an experience though. The clip is from the original Japanese opening of Dragon Ball Z, Cha-La Head Cha-La. It's a pretty fun opening with some nice visuals - very different to the American version which was essentially just a rock track with lots of fighting being shown! Cultural differences I guess.

It's not quite so bad if you've got the sound coming from the TV (depending on your setup obv) but if you've got earphones/headphones on with the 3D audio... terrifying!
-
The only reason I didn't was because I'd already played the game normally, so I knew what was coming. With that said a lot of parts were still incredibly creepy and uneasy even knowing what was coming. There were also some smaller scares I'd forgotten! Just saw the Paranormal Activity VR game is on sale on Steam for £5... will be good for a night when I really don't want to sleep.

The manager is a bigger problem for me. To get promoted under him we would need a squad far, far superior to the rest of the division (as in League 1) to negate his influence. There is no chance of that happening so, in my view, there is no chance of promotion even if we theoretically had a squad capable of achieving it.
-
Maybe he's been offered a huge managerial role in South America after dazzling them on TV with his tactical wisdom.
-
It was bad timing for us to become interested in him then regardless of the medical team's culpability. If we'd signed him straight after WC94 we probably would have gotten a few good years out of him before he broke down.
-
Dahlin's success mainly came in Germany and at international level. I don't think he can be counted as an after tournament buy anyway considering it was 3 years after USA 94 and Sweden didn't even qualify for Euro 96, but regardless he had a solid reputation before coming to Rovers. We never saw anything close to the best of him, unfortunately. Just bad timing all around.
-
Dahlin was a top player tbf, we just got him at the wrong end of his career.

Summer transfer window 2021.
DE. replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We've had, what, one decent summer window in our League 1 season under Mowbray? I expect the same old story of failing to bring in anyone of note in July, then scrambling around in August for anyone available to plug the gaps. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we start the season with a lot of young, untested players in the first team squad. The eternal optimists will laud the club for bringing through the youth and being loyal to 'honest' Tony, even whilst we plummet down the table. Meanwhile Ayala and the other known crocks will soon pick up injuries again, making our situation even more dire. Maybe Downing will be brought back again. Relegation seems very likely to me. I'll be stunned if we aren't bobbing around the drop zone for most of the season. I would say 'in a relegation fight' but under Mowbray I can't foresee it being much of a fight. -

As of now I'd agree, but once pre-season starts the later we sign somebody the less chance they have to bed in with their team mates and take part in pre-season with the club before the season starts.
