Well done to Arma for stepping up again after Wednesday. -

The fact remains we are yet to get a win against a decent team. We smashed Wycombe and Derby but the former have lost 6/6 and the latter have lost 5/6 so far this season. I can't really feel particularly optimistic until we actually start beating good teams. We couldn't break down Forest or Cardiff and Bournemouth and Watford both put three past us, even if the performances were good. There's still a lot of work to do - the new players should help but the proof is in the pudding and we haven't seen that yet. -

Disappointing. Down to 14th. Good teams play badly and win - they don't play well and lose. A lot for Tony to think about as our good start has essentially been completely nullified by recent results. We've got a couple of players to come back and new players to embed, but leave it too late and we're facing a major uphill battle. -

Anyone still think there's isn't a place for Dack in the team when he returns? -

Same old same old I'm afraid. Mowbray can't sort out a defence as a manager. Never has been able to and I don't think he ever will. The only way we get into the playoffs this season is if we score 3 or more in practically every game. Good luck with that. -

Always difficult to win a match when you ship two goals so early. A shame we've given ourselves a mountain to climb as we aren't playing badly at all. -

To be fair to Bell he's been doing OK all things considered, and Brereton has had a few moments where he's looked moderately useful which is as much as we can expect from our £7m man. As for Evans... unless we can hire a hypnotist to make him believe he's actually playing for NI, what's the point? -

I tend to agree, although he did score some goals for us as part of a front two so it's possible there is a formation that makes him somewhat useful. I don't think it's any of the formations Tony prefers though, which makes his signing all the more baffling. -

Gallagher doesn't have the attributes to play as a wide forward. He either needs to be played as a target man or not at all. If SG does play then we'd be better off having Arma in the wide forward role - at least he has pace and the ability to cut in with a great shot from outside the box. -
I can't understand this idea that we were 'unlucky' today. They had more chances and better chances than us, so how is that unlucky other than the timing of the goal being near the end of the match? Neither team looked particularly decent, but if anybody deserved to win it was Forest, unfortunately. It is what it is - move on and hopefully a much different team on Wednesday.
-
The only thing I will say in defence of Buckley is that he was surrounded by Gallagher, Brereton, Evans and Johnson. Dolan had a poor game as well. Far from ideal. He had a disappointing game but I'd like to see him tried when the likes of Elliott, Rothwell, Holtby and Dack are playing.
-
If we want to be in the top six we need to find ways to win in both scenarios. If a team sits back then a counter-attacking game isn't going to work very well either. Hopefully with the addition of the likes of Trybull and Harvey Elliott, plus the return of Rothwell and Holtby, and eventually Dack, we'll see more endeavour and creativity in games where we have significant amounts of possession.
-
Can't say we deserved anything else. Forest had 15 shots to our 6 and 4 on target compared to our 2. Nothing to do with luck. They had more chances and took one of them, whereas we had less chances and took none of them. Two goalless games and two insipid creative performances gives Mowbray perfect reason to shake the team up. There are a lot of players out there today who should only be called upon in the event of an injury crisis. Bell, Evans, Gallagher and Brereton at the very least. £12m down the drain as far as the last two are concerned but it's obvious neither are up to it. I appreciate Brereton works hard but he doesn't contribute with goals at all and only the odd assist here and there. Not good enough for what we need - Harvey should take his place immediately. Johnson isn't consistent enough to be a starter but will be needed for the bench. Thankfully we do have numerous options for the midfield, so I'm not as concerned about that as I have been in previous years. Hoping Arma will start scoring again when surrounded by better, more creative players. Dack also can't return soon enough.
-
This is the kind of game where we really need a player like Dack who can make a goal or create an assist out of nothing. I don't really think there's anyone on the pitch or on the bench today capable of that. Still the possibility of a scruffy goal, but it's not looking like happening at the moment.
-
A disappointing half, but not unexpected considering the lineup. The midfield is back to that slow, sludgy dynamic we had gotten used to. Unless some of these lads get their arses in gear (Bell, Evans, Buckley, Johnson, Brereton, Dolan especially) they aren't giving Mowbray much of a headache when it comes to replacing them with our new signings/returning players.
-
It really is a reminder of how many disappointing transfer windows we've suffered since the mid-2000s. There wasn't much to get excited about once the Trust pulled the plug on funding, and the vast majority of transfer windows under Venky's have ranged from average to embarrassing. Bowyer turned up a few really solid players but they weren't necessarily players you'd get that excited about at the time they signed for us. This and our summer transfer window in League 1 are probably the two best we've had under Venky's - partially because the incomings weren't predecated on us selling our better players first.

BBC have obviously done their homework as usual...

It's a small thing but the animal charity I volunteer for are starting to let volunteers return and have offered me a slot 10am-midday on Saturdays. Before the pandemic I used to go there every Saturday and Sunday, usually in the afternoons, and really enjoyed the social aspect alongside working with the animals. It's been roughly 7 months since I was last there, and being given the chance to go back has really boosted my mood after a pretty difficult past couple of months

Works well on Football Manager tbf.
-
Johnson has had a few periods where his form has been good, unfortunately it's never lasted due to injuries, fitness, or just not being selected for whatever reason. Here's hoping this season will be different. He's off to a great start,
-
I think we've shown we can still compete without Dack in the team, which is a positive should he get injured again or be sold, but when he's fit he's still our best player and needs to be involved in the first eleven.
-
As at any club the most important signing is the manager. I don't think Parker is the man to keep them up regardless of the reinforcements they bring in. Judging by his recent barbed comments towards Tony Khan it wouldn't surprise me if he's gone before too long.
-
Howe could yet be a one club wonder. He didn't pull up any trees at Bumley after all. I'd prefer Hughton.

I guess Hughton has lowered his ambitions a little. Either that or Forest are chucking him a shedload of money. -
Elite is really incredible in VR for sure. I don't think it's natively supported with the Quest 2 - you can hook the Q2 up to the PC or stream games from the PC to the Q2 wirelessly using Virtual desktop, but from what I've read there are some latency/lag issues. For that reason when i want to play games like Elite I'll probably still plug in the Rift. It's not a big deal hooking up a single sensor and sitting down. What annoys me is when I need to set up three sensors for room scale games like Robo Recall, Rec Room, Holoball, etc. The sensor setup and being tethered to the PC can be awkward at the best of times. Also having to connect everything up just to use stuff like BigScreen (cinema app) or Beat Saber is frustrating. I'm looking forward to the freedom and ease of use the Q2 will provide.
