I still watch Raw and Smackdown but it's mostly out of habit. Raw is a genuinely awful show at the moment, for the most part, whilst Smackdown is better but is also helped by being shorter. Needing to fill three hours does Raw no favours. I stopped watching NXT a while ago - something just isn't the same about it since they moved onto network TV. The Takeovers are still decent but not what they used to be either. I really enjoy AEW, by far the most creative and varied product out there. Not having to do a PPV every month is a massive benefit to storyline pacing. Not everything they do is great - truthfully some of it is really bad - but by and large I find the show consistently interesting and well paced. Their main weakness is their women's division, which has been sadly neglected since day one. I don't watch any other promotion so can't really comment on Impact, NJPW, etc. I do miss NWA Powerrr on Tuesdays though.

Nitro was the show I first watched as a kid, starting around April/May 1996, and I watched far more WCW than WWE until around late 1998 when the roles reversed. As a result I saw a lot of Benoit before he came to WWE and remember more of his WCW stint (early Horsemen feuds, Raven, DDP, the Horsemen Reunion) than anything he did in WWE. Benoit's rise in WWE coincided with a general drop in interest to me in wrestling in general so I don't have a ton of memories from his WWE days and wasn't watching when he and Eddie had their WM moment. I can remember liking Benoit in WCW and thinking he was OK but kind of bland in WWE - before I stopped watching some time in mid-2002. I do recall exactly where I was when I heard about his death (outside a nightclub at something like 2am) and it definitely shocked me - especially when the details came out about what really happened.

You should watch the Dark Side of the Ring episode on Benoit, as well as the Lapsed Fan podcasts on the subject. It will give you a much better understanding of what Eddie's death truly did to Benoit. The psychological impact was far beyond any other deaths he had experienced.

Made even more tragic by the Benoit incident, which likely never happens if Eddie lived. Chances are Benoit would still have died before 2010 due to his heart, but he wouldn't have taken Nancy and Daniel with him.

It certainly isn't going unnoticed.

The article I read didn't mention how much Morris would be involved - but if the people with money want change, it'll happen, and you couldn't blame them for looking at Cocu's record at Derby and thinking 'we can do much better than this'.

Sounds like they will have new owners incoming shortly. I would imagine Cocu is gone once that is officially confirmed.

If we weren't so wasteful with our chances we wouldn't have to worry about a single penalty, soft or not.

Every time we play a decent team we concede 3. It's a joke. No good "playing nicely" if as soon as we come against anybody remotely decent the defence crumbles.

Must've been a while since we recorded two 4-0's in a season, let alone by October and with a 5-0 in there too. Some cracking talent in this team. If we can find a way to keep the goals out against the better teams we have a chance of doing something special this season.

Has to be trolling us at this point. Repeatedly putting Gallagher on the right is total madness otherwise.

Please let us never see an Evans/Johnson midfield combo again. The pair of them together nuke our entire style of play. Obviously we're playing ten men here, but even so we're back to looking dangerous and mobile.

Well done to Arma for stepping up again after Wednesday.

The fact remains we are yet to get a win against a decent team. We smashed Wycombe and Derby but the former have lost 6/6 and the latter have lost 5/6 so far this season. I can't really feel particularly optimistic until we actually start beating good teams. We couldn't break down Forest or Cardiff and Bournemouth and Watford both put three past us, even if the performances were good. There's still a lot of work to do - the new players should help but the proof is in the pudding and we haven't seen that yet.

Disappointing. Down to 14th. Good teams play badly and win - they don't play well and lose. A lot for Tony to think about as our good start has essentially been completely nullified by recent results. We've got a couple of players to come back and new players to embed, but leave it too late and we're facing a major uphill battle.

Anyone still think there's isn't a place for Dack in the team when he returns?

Same old same old I'm afraid. Mowbray can't sort out a defence as a manager. Never has been able to and I don't think he ever will. The only way we get into the playoffs this season is if we score 3 or more in practically every game. Good luck with that.

Always difficult to win a match when you ship two goals so early. A shame we've given ourselves a mountain to climb as we aren't playing badly at all.

To be fair to Bell he's been doing OK all things considered, and Brereton has had a few moments where he's looked moderately useful which is as much as we can expect from our £7m man. As for Evans... unless we can hire a hypnotist to make him believe he's actually playing for NI, what's the point?

I tend to agree, although he did score some goals for us as part of a front two so it's possible there is a formation that makes him somewhat useful. I don't think it's any of the formations Tony prefers though, which makes his signing all the more baffling.

Gallagher doesn't have the attributes to play as a wide forward. He either needs to be played as a target man or not at all. If SG does play then we'd be better off having Arma in the wide forward role - at least he has pace and the ability to cut in with a great shot from outside the box.

I can't understand this idea that we were 'unlucky' today. They had more chances and better chances than us, so how is that unlucky other than the timing of the goal being near the end of the match? Neither team looked particularly decent, but if anybody deserved to win it was Forest, unfortunately. It is what it is - move on and hopefully a much different team on Wednesday.

The only thing I will say in defence of Buckley is that he was surrounded by Gallagher, Brereton, Evans and Johnson. Dolan had a poor game as well. Far from ideal. He had a disappointing game but I'd like to see him tried when the likes of Elliott, Rothwell, Holtby and Dack are playing.

If we want to be in the top six we need to find ways to win in both scenarios. If a team sits back then a counter-attacking game isn't going to work very well either. Hopefully with the addition of the likes of Trybull and Harvey Elliott, plus the return of Rothwell and Holtby, and eventually Dack, we'll see more endeavour and creativity in games where we have significant amounts of possession.
