  1. Great. So why bring him on as a winger and move Dack into the striker role then? Mogga seems to think striker and winger are synonymous for some reason.
  2. Back to normal at Ipswich. 2-0 down, getting battered. At home. To QPR. Hurst looking likely to go down as one of their worst ever managerial appointments. Suffice to say Mogga made the right decision when he told Ipswich he wasn't interested.
  3. A combination of their good start to the season and Bielsa's reputation led to them being massively overhyped. They aren't the first and won't be the last team to start well and then fall away. Look at our first season in the Championship. On today's showing Leeds will be lucky to make the playoffs. We bossed the first half and could have been two or three up by the break.
  4. Up to 5th. Who could have seen this happening back when Mowbray was first appointed?
  5. Superb result. The sheer effort put in by the team today was on another level. Could have easily let our heads drop after conceding at the end of the first half, but kept going and got our reward. Well done Rovers!
  6. Conway's first touch an assist from the corner. The next twenty minutes or so are going to be torture.
  7. Because Mowbray. Loves playing strikers on the wing.
  8. Brereton playing on the right, Dack is now essentially our striker. OK.
  9. Graham off for Brereton. Time for our £7m man to come on and change the game.
  10. A couple of nice touches in the first half but hasn't imposed himself on the game at all. Other than the early goal Graham hasn't been able to get into it either. Our best players by far have been Reed and Armstrong.
  11. I suppose I should have said theoretically, Bell should be a better attacking option due to his pace. Bell's main flaw is his decision making, it just isn't very good at all. The positive is that it's something that can be worked on and should improve over time if he has an extended run in the team. At one point in the first half he made a great run through the middle of the pitch, but once in the final third seemed to have no idea what to do next and lost the ball, even though he had a couple of passes on.
  12. He was a £250k buy from Fleetwood, so it is what it is. You can see he has a lot of the physical attributes to be a good wing back but his decision making and defensive positioning is below the level you'd expect for a team in the upper reaches of the Championship. Williams is probably a better overall player, albeit with less of an attacking threat.
  13. It's pretty accurate tbf, although normally it's the first half we struggle in rather than the second.
  14. Disappointing but the two obvious problems are that we haven't taken our chances and we just can't seem to stop conceding goals. Very very poor goal to give away as well, defence just went to sleep as they are prone to do. A huge shame as we had a great half until then. It's just that lack of quality at both ends of the pitch that means we don't score when we should and concede when we shouldn't. You can't fault the effort of the players though. It was a great first half performance punctured by a Leeds goal right at the end. Keep playing as we did in the first half and we still have every chance of winning this one. We tend to be a team of two halves though so I'm pretty nervous about the second half now.
  15. Another great effort from Armstrong, unlucky not to score. He's been superb this half.
  16. He was the same in the last match, things just weren't coming off for him as he lacked any real support in front or behind him. Thought the criticism of him in the last match was very unfair. He may not always make the right choices but he's always trying to make something happen.
  17. Our energy and closing down so far has been second to none. We're constantly harassing them, not letting them have a moment to think. It's the total opposite to what we saw in the last match, we look completely revitalised.
  18. Reed has been very good so far. Dack has shown a few flashes of quality too. The full backs are trying to push forward, which is helping us when we attack and was one of the major reasons we struggled against Sheff Utd, so good to see that Mowbray seems to have recognised that issue.
  19. We're looking dangerous on the break. Should be 2-0 up.
  20. So apparently Fulham's owner is in talks to start a new wrestling promotion in the States... https://prowrestling.net/site/2018/10/19/nfl-family-reportedly-behind-a-new-startup-pro-wrestling-project-involving-cody-young-bucks-chris-jericho-jim-ross-and-others/ Possible reason why he suddenly pulled out of the Wembley deal? It would take a ton of money to try and compete with WWE at this point. If they had the likes of Jericho, JR, Goldberg, the Bucks, Cody, Omega, Adam Page then that could be pretty awesome though. If it does come to fruition (I doubt it will, but if) then I can see WWE throwing some hefty offers to anybody credible to ensure Khan's promotion had very little to choose from. It's basically what they did to World of Sport here in the UK, buying up all the decent UK talent and then essentially putting the lot of them on ice. With Vince starting up the XFL and his eye being off the proverbial ball, as far as the wrestling industry goes, this could be a good time to strike...
  21. I'd be quite happy for them never to set foot in Ewood again. Who is it out there that is so desperate to be graced by Venky's presence?
  22. If he's determined to play for a hopeless Scotland team to the detriment of his health and club then fine, but it's another reason we should be looking to replace him rather than keep offering him extensions.
  23. Nice to get some in depth analysis on Brereton. It sounds like we're going to need to change the way we play to get the best out of him though. I've said before that I think Mowbray's vision for our style of play is very different to what we're currently seeing, and signing players like Brereton seems to lend itself to that train of thought. We'll need a few more signings to bring that to fruition, though, so it'll be interesting to see if we're active in January. There's still a lot of work to do to build the type of team that a player like Brereton can thrive in, imo.
  24. Considering the happiness when he departed he should've been given a standing ovation.
