  1. Gallagher is the only player in the entire squad who has a proper shot in his boots.
  2. Dack will take at least 2 months to get to full speed from the time he makes his first appearance. Gallagher gets better with every game he doesn't play. Where does Giles fit into this 3-5- 2 formation when Pickering's back?
  3. You're an optimist! Lose to Forest on Wednesday and its nailed on that a playoff place is gone.
  4. Wharton is the new Derek Williams when it comes to heading the ball like a 50p piece in the oppostion box.
  5. We'll be looking up at the play-ff places by the time we've played Fulham at the beginning of March. There is a lack of goalscorers in the team apart from Brereton - and even that has dried up. The "false 9" Buckley couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. I've seen more powerful shots at my walking football. He never makes a run to gamble on a cross into the six yard box. Rothwell plays far too deep and frankly looks nothing like a Premier League player. The failure to bring in an established goalpoacher like Maja will see us failing to even make the playoffs.
  6. Buckley can be brainless at times. Should have been booked for needlessly kicking the ball away, appealing for a pen after diving and then a ridiculously casual attempt in front of an open goal.
  7. Just hope that this is not a replica of the 1980/81 season when virtually the only goal-provider in the squad, Noel Brotherston got a season-ending injury 2 days after the transfer deadline. In the remaining matches there were numerous 0-0 results and Rovers missed on promotion by a single point.
  8. Any significant absence for Brererton between now and the end of the season - potentially 23 matches including internationals - and its over. Failure to sign any striker with a physical presence shows a total lack of ambition and commonsense.
  9. That's Mowbray. Round pegs in square holes wherever possible.
  10. No chance of Ejaria. He's under contract until 2024 and Reading's wage levels are way higher hence their problems with FFP.
  11. Those figures are simply wrong because the total wage bill is at least double the £9m quoted.
  12. Bournemouth can dilly dally on the medical to reduce the time left for Rovers to spend the funds on a replacement.
  13. Rothwell has previously missed matches with a back injury so its not a foregone conclusion that he's pulling a fast one.
  14. As with Armstrong any Brereton sale is likely to be after the accounting date for FFP so won't be included in this season's accounting period. Also the net reduction in squad size and reduced wages for the incomers is unlikely to shave more than a couple of million off the loss.
  15. Beware the new manager bounce particularly as any change is likely to take place just before we play them
  16. I don't believe there is any leeway whatsoever in the FFP calculations. The trainIng ground "profit" only keeps the loss to about the £13m level of the previous season. This seasons loss can be expected to be around £13m even after the c£10m profit om Armstrong. There is no scope for a sizeable transfer fee if the 3 season aggregate loss is to kept below the £39m limit.
  17. Under-23s are winning 4-0 with 10 mins to go.
  18. Might as well make use of Chapman as Burton Albion is the only other club he can play for this season. He needs to impress someone if he wants to maintain his current income after June.
  19. It is very unusual for a player to have such a serious injury without going to ground at any time and to walk off the pitch at the end. Conspiracy theorists can have a field day.
  20. Nyambe phoned in his contribution last night. Utterly disinterested he barely went through the motions. He might be an athlete but there is a lack of basic ball skills or intelligence. After nearly 5 years of supposed development he is still barely adequate for the Championship. Now he has clearly lost any motivation for this club he needs to be moved in January.
  21. Mowbray would still be there after a 0-10 defeat which it could easily have been.
