Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
JHRover replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Even if by some miracle they decided to replace Waggott with a competent external CEO rather than promote the work experience guy from within, ask yourselves who is going to come in and work at an organisation whereby Pasha is technically subordinate to the CEO but practically is the head honcho as he is the only one with a connection to India and has their ear. It's just a ridiculous and laughable situation. Unworkable even if they decided to recruit a proper CEO, which they won't because those cost and will need assurances. Easier and cheaper just to muddle on with the chuckle brothers and hope it works out ok. Unacceptable in professional football. -

I always expected Waggott to bail when the shit was truly about to hit the fan and that until that day arrived he would hang on collecting his hefty salary. So hopefully the regimes collapse is imminent. Then again more likely in my opinion a convenient shuffle to cover for his retirement whilst putting out an impression of changes been made when we all know that won't really happen. It will still be business as usual upstairs and probably even more power for head stooge and his patsy Gestede. Give it a year or two and Gestede will be the sacrificial lamb when the pressure is building again. -

Indeed he's gone. Confirmed by the club in a typically limited and vague manner with zero mention of who is - officially at least - running the show now. As far as I am concerned a positive but ultimately pointless whilst Venkys and their main stooge remains. We will just lurch from one incompetent to another under their ownership. I expected a fall guy this summer. Last year it was Broughton, they needed one this to keep the heat off India and head stooge which has been building. The women's team furore will have caused them grief so this announcement used to head off trouble there. They aren't daft. Of course it has long been rumoured that Waggott was preparing for retirement so it may simply be that and the head stooge attempting to collect some credit/points by making it appear as a removal. Venkys out, that's all that really matters. -
Which is why there is a good argument to say that the chaos that unfolded at Bolton, Derby, Reading etc. is a preferable and better outcome than what we are enduring here. Yes fine Venkys have ensured that the bills have been paid and we've avoided administration and all that comes with it. I'm not sure I'd consider that a badge of honour on their part considering where we were when they rocked up but hey ho. But those other clubs have suffered short, sharp shocks, changed ownership and cleared the decks and rebuilt and renewed. Give me that and some future optimism and trust between ownership and fans over the hell they continue to subject us to here, nearly 15 years in.

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
JHRover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Is this the bit where "we can't compete" with what Derby are offering (ignoring our billionaire ownership and the fact they are skint and were in admin a few years ago, and we'd go the same way as them if Venkys ever left)? -

If you are going to lie might as well go high especially when half the fanbase will swallow it whole. -

Once they walk then a new owner comes along. Many, many, many owners have given up owning clubs and funding losses and have passed it over to someone else to take it on. League One Reading managed it only last week. The fans don't need a plan on that front. It isn't a job for the fans to concentrate on. All we can do is hope the new owners are better than this lot (highly likely). No club has ceased to exist because an outgoing owner hasn't found a replacement. -

It makes financial sense to shut the whole thing down and put houses on Ewood and Brockhall. I'm interested as to why some seem to think it is ok to slash in some areas because it saves money but stop short of going the whole hog. Basically it's because "I'm alright Jack" as long as there's a men's team at a reasonable level every other Saturday at Ewood nothing else bothers them. Be careful though...the same excuses and reasons for this could easily be transferred elsewhere to justify what they are up to. -
Agreed, although I do believe that the cash for Rhodes, Brereton and Gallagher was possibly one of the Indians' personal cash that they agreed to stump up front hence the sudden and strange nature of those deals that stand out like a sore thumb. I think one of them agreed to cough up the necessary extra cash for those on the basis they expected to recover it again from later sales.

I'm convinced of it, I'm sure the only reason the Indians agreed to employ him was on the basis he would ultimately pay for himself with savings made. -

"In a structure that is community based" What does that actually mean other than small time operation? What is this obsession with "community" they have down there other than it excuses them thinking small every time? -

Exactly. The principle applies equally to all other aspects of the operation including the men's team. Only they won't be so blatant about it with the men, the end result will inevitably be the same, ending up at a lower level on a permanent basis because it is easier and cheaper for this lot to handle. -

Look on the bright side, it isn't all bad, that saving will do wonders for Waggott trying to hit his target and qualify for his bonus next year. -

Can I just check, do Venkys still 'never refuse to sign a cheque' or have we given up on that one at last? -
Name of the game here is to pretend they are offering price cuts and making efforts to get more people in, without actually doing so or jeopardising their financial targets. Hence the Riverside price cut, knowing full well it should be cheaper given the facilities, it used to be before they upped it and drove loads into the JW stand instead. Only a lot won't move from behind the goals, relatively full and vociferous BBE to sit in the wide areas of the Riverside to save a few quid. But to compensate for the Riverside cut they've upped it in the BBE, which will drive some elsewhere and others put off renewing altogether after another season of nonsense from the management. End result another big drop in numbers. That hardcore that will 'always renew regardless' seems to me to be getting ever smaller.

My fingers remain tightly crossed that this is going to break them and their cruel grip on BRFC. Either by them being found guilty of serious crimes once that investigation eventually completes, forcing them to relinquish control, or in the meantime by these clearly onerous requirements on funding preventing/discouraging them from keeping the show on the road. As with the Oyston era at Blackpool the only way we are getting rid of this lot is with the help of higher authority. As long as things remain ongoing on that front I'll stay hopeful.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
JHRover replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Or maybe Broughton and other staff had done all that was needed, told the media boys to release it but then Venkys and their slippery stooges pulled the plug. -

Only a matter of time, probably not true yet as that would be impressive work even by Venky pond life standards to force a manager out before his first transfer window has even opened. But it will come. Once he realises that he'd get more backing, clarity and plan working at Clitheroe he'll set the wheels in motion Remember - the last two preferred unemployment and a high risk of League One with Derby County rather than stay at this stinking cesspit. If that doesn't tell you a story nothing will. -

Lesley Fielding are you referring to? Well a quick online search suggests she went to Witton Park school from 1979-1984. Likely means she was born in 1968 or thereabouts. Making her 56-57 at a rough guess. So she might be retiring but if she is I'd say she's either very fortunate or has been on a very good number at Brockhall. I think those of us with common sense can see what is going on down there. Patterns emerge of popular long-standing staff members leaving in their droves. That doesn't happen at stable and well run organisations. -

Club shop in town centre costs too much - shut it down Matchday programme costs too much - get rid Home fans in Darwen End / BBE upper tier - close them down Radio Rovers / Rovervision cost too much - shut down Academy and Brockhall sites cost too much - attempt to shut down but can't be done easily / on the cheap and too much red tape to deal with so leave for now Ewood shop / Blues Bar - start to shut down, reduced opening days and times and doing their utmost to discourage people from going with incentives to stay away from the Ewood site I've probably missed a few Women's team - costing too much - what happens next? Why stop there? Mens and reserve/youth teams don't make money either. Any reason for keeping those going? It isn't to benefit the town or fanbase that's for sure or they'd make some effort with it. -

Covers all the topics that the regime and the local media have done their best to avoid and the head-in-sand brigade pretend aren't there. Brilliant stuff again -
The best 'deal' would have been to have backed our manager 12 months prior when the PL was achievable, and again the following summer, and again the following January, whilst Wharton was here. Had we done any of those things there's a decent chance we'd have got to the PL, kept Wharton and now be naming our price for him like Palace can. None of the above is far fetched or ludicrous stuff. It was there to be done and our owners flushed it down the toilet because they don't care. So I'm glad they've missed out on millions on Adam, it's the least they deserve for their behaviour.
