Ideally it would come from the Rovers Trust. The last letter they wrote was pretty good. This time around it would need a bit more probing and spelling out of concerns imo. Sharpe published the Venkys letter so should publish the Trusts. It should start with the training ground fiasco. The concerns about Waggots past. The ongoing senior management concerns. And it should end with an offer of reconciliation providing certain objectives are made and met. All my opinion of course.

Maybe the fans should type an open letter back. Explaining the state we are in. The reservations about Waggott and the training ground. And most importantly how we are desperate to have our club running as it was before. He could even meet with fan representatives when he comes to the ground. No effing and jeffing, no anger, just civil and cordial communication

At some point in time the Club has to turn a corner. I have been and will continue to be very critical of the Owners. This letter doesn’t even begin to touch the sides of what they need to do to redeem the last decade of mismanagement. But small steps like returning to the ground can only be a step in the right direction. We need Venkys to be local. It is the only way we can stop the constant stream of people like Waggott and Senior. If they are happy to be around the place then there can be no excuse for not noticing the state of the Club. Ultimately though, it is under their stewardship which has seen Rovers fall so low. Not just in league position but in business sense. The only way Balaji will ever reconnect with the fans is by employing an experienced board of directors who will advise him properly on how to manage and better a football club. All the financial support aside this crucial part of football club ownership is missing. It is skeleton staff operating a club on life support. We have open letters every now and again, none have committed to attending iirc, but all of that is a sideshow in comparison to making sure the club is functional and not in the hands of conmen like Waggott. If he gets rid of him and brings in people of the ilk of Williams or Finn he will earn my respect. Until then, coat of arms and attendance or not, this club will not move forward and they will not be forgiven for their role in it.

Short sighted JH We could be starting the season -10 pts if found foul of FFP rules Say what you like, the money has been there to spend the last two Championship seasons. The facts of the matter are it hasn’t been spent wisely and now this summer, coupled with the pandemic, has meant out relative spending spree has come home to roost The contract scenario is another of Mowbray and Waggot’s failures to properly look after the long term future of the club But all of the above would not be possible if they had genuine oversight from the owners and not instead just a yearly catch up -

It is no way to run a long term club but sometimes you have to think of the near term. Whatever we have to say about Mowbray, Waggott or the “journey”, the here and now dictates we need bodies in If the Armstrong deal frees up the finances to bring in the likes of Elliot then I’d be happy in the short term. If we start the season with the squad we have at the time of writing we could be looking at a tough year ahead. -
It begs the question: why employ him in the first place? A lot of ‘staff turnover’ is usually a sign of something bad. There’s been a few coming and going this summer. It seems odd Chamberlain has gone when one of our better signings last year was a dirt cheap goalkeeper from Belgium. I would very much like Waggott to piss off now. His time running this club has amounted to nothing. Has he done anything he has set out to do? Couldn’t even get the bloody sale of Brockhall over the line

I try not to get entangled in your baiting but to lay the blame of all of the clubs mess at Mowbrays door is lazy He’s is a symptom and not the illness The fact that average managers like Mowbray are allowed to run, without accountability, bills of up to £20m is down to a lack of board level scrutiny That board is determined by one group of people only - Venkys Mowbray was allowed to recommend a mate to sign up as CEO but it was the owners who ultimately hired him. And it is the owners who continue to employ him It is the owners who stuck by Mowbray through his latest bad spell And it is the owners who have seen us in two embargo’s in 10 years, 2 relegations and a decimation of professional structure This mess we are in is not solely down to Mowbray but a continuing decline of professionalism overseen by a group of people who have no interest in change. -
Chill out

He owns the club so of course he should show his bloated face once in a while Even if it is just for a picture to show Ms Hilton what he owns But all jokes aside the supporters of this club are well within their rights to have bad feelings towards Venkys for all that they have put this club through He doesn’t come to the ground because of a snowball - they don’t come because they know full well the reception they will get. That would change though, if only they showed a willing to run the club properly. The poor relationship isn’t undeserved.

It’s funny seeing the Chileans on social media posts demanding Brereton(-Diaz) constantly. I noticed on the home kit reveal and thought they’d definitely show him on the away kit. Instead we were given Gallagher. Small complaint but come on, give the fans what they want to see. Let’s see Brereton-Diaz in a home and away kit. They might be bloody tempted to buy it!! That’s if Waggot won’t try and screw them over on international shipping -

I had a feeling Macron would deliver that more personal touch Two fantastic kits. Think I’ll buy the away one. It will be the first shirt I’ve bought in years, not usually my style but too good not to buy imo -

What does generation have to do with this debate? 😄 The people making these decisions aren’t “Gen Z” - not that it makes a difference I don’t think the vaccine passports will happen. It seems too intrusive. -
2021/22 Pre-Season
Dreams of 1995 replied to Admiral Nelsen's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It’s all well and good shedding people like Holtby but if you can’t get a better player, why not give him a contract? A two year one at most We just appear to be very thin on the ground. Out of that squad that started today there’s a few injury cases. Ayala, Chapman, Davenport and Rothwell will pick up knocks. Maybe Lenihan too. Then the back up to them is pretty untested. Wondering if we ever will make a signing this summer. Very strange. The club has gone into hibernation. There’s not much of a commercial structure and the football side seems to be skating by. I am starting to believe that this season is all about hoping we aren’t the worst team. It could be a long year -

Must be some kind of sick joke. Mowbray is in charge of this club from top to bottom now. A real out dated way of running a football club. Although, Wanyama and Van Dijk were some signings -

East Lancs Cricket Club ??
Dreams of 1995 replied to sympatheticclaret's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
I think it is pie in the sky stuff to say local populace is irrelevant. And demographics being destiny is not dog whistle racism either. Demographics defines demand. In local areas where there is a high Muslim population it stands to reason pubs, betting agencies, non-Halal butchers etc all are deemed surplus to requirements. Therefore, long standing businesses like those will erode as the demographic changes. They will be replaced by new businesses which cater better for the needs of the new demographic. This goes for gentrifcation too. When younger people move in to an area the whole business ethos of that area changes. Demographics changed the destiny of that postcode / region or whatever. You only need to look at how the surrounding area of the East Lancs cricket ground has changed in my lifetime alone to see that demand in that area will change. In a club that apparently relied heavily on bar purchases for turnover it is no surprise that, when the crowds dwindle and do not get replaced with likeminded people, that turnover drastically falls. Compare with the likes of Cherry Tree which has a younger, British population, more likely to drink alcohol, and where the club house is rocking every weekend. They aren't taking new members at the moment - or at least wasn't when I last checked. This is a total turnaround from 15/20 years ago. This is the same for Read, Feni, Darwen etc. I remember my Grandad telling me East Lancs has had financial difficulties for some time but if that vital bar turnover has been taken away then that only furthers the burden. It won't solely be down to demographic change but it has definitely had an impact, otherwise he would not have mentioned the reduced bar income. -

That reads to me like the refurb is potentially delayed and they want to save the kit launch for when it is complete
