Celtic were a well organised team with a world class striker and two other very good forward options. They knocked two fairly average premier league teams out but I think would have struggled against the top 4 of the time. And you know I’m a Sellick sympathiser Mark but I do get a bit sick of hearing about that UEFA Cup run.

Because we passed it around nicely but barely created a chance of note. They were always going to score with their forwards. Then Andy Cole missed a one-on-one early doors in the second leg and they destroyed us after that.

Because the job is still seen as a decent one within the game, whatever we think. Also, he’ll see the time Mowbray has been afforded here and probably think that’s a plus as well. Our problem isn’t attracting a good manager - it’s having someone with the gumption and authority at Ewood to actually appoint one.

For those of us who hate the red rags with a passion, it’s glorious mate - for this very reason. -
After Woods, the National and Burnley have buggered my betting weekend I might need a place on the guest list 😂😂😂

I don't think we bottled it as such, to be fair. The keeper had an absolute nightmare but apart from that we played well enough to have won that game comfortably. You can't legislate for what Pears did that day. It would be like saying Liverpool bottled the champions league final against Real Madrid when Karius dropped his clangers.

I seem to remember him winning the US Open on one leg many years ago. I've got a tenner each way riding on him anyway :)

The thing is, nobody would be THAT surprised if he did, would they?

RIP June Brown, aka Dot Cotton, at the grand old age of 95. Very rare that nobody has a bad word to say about someone, but literally everybody says she was an amazing woman and a fierce defender of civil liberties, as well as a fine actress.

It would have been the 80s when they were scrapped. The only UK force that continued them was the City of London Police. Probably related to being able to see over large crowds or something. I doubt they will still able to impose those requirements these days. -

A terrific effort from the England team in the Women's World Cup. After losing their first 3 games and being on the very brink of elimination, they have turned things around in superb style and have just absolutely smashed the Saffers in the semi final. Bring on the Aussies in the final now.
