  1. The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps
  2. I played against Dave many times. He had a year at Rovers but never got a game. Think he went to Stockport or Crewe, somewhere like that, afterwards but faded quickly and played non league footie for a while. He was a bit of a handful by all accounts......
  3. Amazing result for them last night and a shocker for their rivals, but neither tie is over yet. I'm very tempted to put a fiver on a double for Celtic and Dortmund both to qualify. Celtic will not be as bad again and if Haaland is back for Dortmund and they get the first goal it will be interesting. Away goals don't count in the way they used to so a 2-0 win for either of the sides who are behind takes it to extra time.
  4. Ronnie Spector and the E Street Band - Say Goodbye to Hollywood
  5. Stone Foundation - The Limit of a Man
  6. Squeeze - Take Me I'm Yours
  7. The Jam - News of the World
  8. I think there was a phase in the mid 70s where throwing darts at the footie was rife, and not just at Ewood. There were various photos in the tabloids of young men being led around various pitches with darts sticking out of their heads/faces and in one particularly graphic photo, an eye! Slightly later than that, Terry Gennoe once said that one missed his head by about 2 inches in a game at Ewood against Burnley.
  9. Georgio Moroder - From Here to Eternity
  10. Bill Slater would be the missing one - Clitheroe born if I'm not mistaken?
  11. Edwyn Collins - Running Away With Myself
  12. David Bowie - Oh You Pretty Things
  13. That's because its a bit chilly for the soft southern ponces Nick.
  14. Lori Anderson - Oh Superman
  15. Sweet Sensation - Sad Sweet Dreamer
  16. The Clash - Straight to Hell
  17. Paul Weller - A Bullet For Everyone
  18. My brother is Mick Young, he was a giant at the age of 13 and played centre half, but never really got any taller as he got older. He played a couple of games for Rovers Reserves and also for the Rovers youth team at Old Trafford directly against Norman Whiteside. Two bruisers there! That would have been I dunno, 81 or 82.
  19. Alan Bradshaw coached the town team for many years - nothing unusual about a 15 year age gap between teachers. It was definitely Pete Briggs. They both ran the very successful Blackburn and Darwen schools sides of the early 80s that contained the likes of our kid, Mark Brennan and others. I think they won all the local and regional trophies and got through to the last 8 of the English Schools Trophy.
  20. That's him, well remembered 🙂
  21. Sam and Dave - Soul Man
  22. The Main T Possee - Fickle Public Speaking
  23. Don't think Alan got much use out of it 🙂 Alan Bradshaw was a really good schools coach. My brother played many games for his town and county teams. Him and another teacher (Briggs?) were like Cloughie and Taylor.
  24. I thought he went to QPR?
