  1. Paul Weller - Back In the Fire Nice use of the word 'wanker' in the lyrics....
  2. Dion and the Belmonts - A Teenager In Love
  3. I seem to recall that it was indeed Bill Fox. Franz Carr was selected as an apprentice at Ewood ahead of my younger brother, Rovers only took one or two on every year at that time and they could only afford one that season. Franz’s dad was a bit pushier than mine! (joking apart Franz was an exceptional player at 16 and even our kid understood why he’d been selected).
  4. Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana
  5. The Jam - Beat Surrender
  6. Culture Club - Time (Clock Of The Heart)
  7. The Jam - When You're Young
  8. The Bay City Rollers - Bye Bye Baby
  9. : Kaminski, Lenihan (c), van Hecke, Wharton, Nyambe, Travis, Buckley, Rothwell, Zeefuik, Hedges, Giles Subs: Pears, Johnson, Ayala, Davenport, Khadra, Rankin-Costello, Brereton Diaz
  10. Ocean Colour Scene - I Told You So
  11. I'm afraid this spoilt what was otherwise an interesting post. Rovers have had many more than just the 3 'glory seasons', even if you believe that football didn't exist until 1992, which it most certainly did. For what it is worth, 1995/96 was Jack's biggest mistake. For all the reasons you have alluded to.
  12. Mott the Hoople - One Of The Boys
  13. Prince Buster - Madness
  14. The season we won the league I think Andy Cole alone cost united more than our entire transfer outlay that season? He certainly cost as much as Shearer and Sutton combined (albeit Shearer was bought 2 or 3 years earlier)
  15. David Essex - Rock On
  16. He wasn’t really a defender to be fair but your sentiment is spot on anyway. He was the perfect foil for Mecky in the midfield at his peak.
  17. Good, that means he's staying put. Nice one Merce 😉
  18. Oh what the heck, go on then.... The Jam - Down In The Tube Station At Midnight
  19. They threw a bloody toilet over the wall and into the away end. Tossers. Mowbray played for Boro that day.
  20. You could hear the coins pinging off the floodlight pylon in the Rovers end that day Nick. Patty tells a good story about that game in his book. We got escorted to London Bridge station in a police personnel carrier after that game. Cockney wankers.
  21. Sweet Sensation - Sad Sweet Dreamer
  22. Pears aside I don't think that's too bad a bench. With Giles' delivery, if we need a goal late in the game we throw the big fella up front. Johnson also has a goal in him. Main thing for us is to continue to keep it very tight at the back - we won't need too many goals then.
  23. Neil Finn - Wherever You Are
  24. Except he doesn’t because they don’t play there any more.
  25. The Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
