  1. Agree with the team selection but think we will lose 3-2. I have no idea what the crowd will be but doubt it will hit five figures.
  2. Best wishes to the lad. He’s had a bit of a rollercoaster the past couple of years.
  3. I always thought the smaller school-sized pitches across the road from Blacksnape, know locally as Sett End or Roman Road, were even more exposed to be honest. However I once played a game against YMCA in Mellor in the middle of December and it was easily the coldest I’ve ever been on a football pitch. The pitch was very exposed to the elements and it was driving hailstone (no joke when you’re bald like me!) We won 11-0 that day and our keeper, Steve Walmsley, needed a welder at the end of the game.
  4. It must bring back memories for yours and @arbitro’s generation of when it was first built eh lads? 😂😂😂
  5. Martha Reeves and the Vandellas - (Love Is Like a) Heatwave
  6. Brilliant den. The kids inside the boundary rope blocking off the Gloucester fielder made me chuckle too - they were great days watching Lancashire in the one day competitions.
  7. RIP Mike Hendrick, ex England fast bowler, who has died of cancer at the age of 72. Good seam bowler was Mike.
  8. I was lucky enough to work with him for a while on a homeless project in Motherwell and he was a brilliant guy. He did enjoy a drink by all accounts but I don't know whether the 'long battle with illness' relates to that or not.
  9. Yeah there's a thread been started in the football section mate. Ally was a terrific guy who did a lot for the homeless up here in his spare time.
  10. Yeah I meant on covid grounds mate - crikey when you think how long the players were away from their families in the old days this lot don't know they are born.
  11. They should delay the Ashes for at least a year mate.
  12. I think the white collar looks great tbh. It’s my favourite away kit since the Time sponsored black and red striped one of the Souness promotion season.
  13. I believe ex Rover Ally Dawson passed away today at the tender age of 63. We never really saw the best of him after he suffered a horrendous head injury while playing for Rangers but I still have fond memories of his time playing under the Don. RIP Ally
