  1. You are not teaching English I hope
  2. They are probably just repeating what their Man U supporting parents have said. Or are you at school in Burnleh
  3. How right you are Paul. However, to me the acid test comes against Wigan, it is absolutely crucial we do not fall flat on our face. We have a bit of a buzz going, in terms of impacting the support and keeping things going this is a huge, must perform well game. A let down against the Latics and it will be back to square one for the fans on the fence. I feel so good to be a Rovers fan today.
  4. Phew! Cracking goal of Bentley's thanks to the folks for the youtube thingy. Benni's wasn't bad (Doubt he could pull off that move in the prem) bloody well finished. My apologies to the public of Blackburn, lot's of you did turn out it seems. Proud tonight, bloody chuffed. Rangers in the group would be very, very tasty. Any reasons this could NOT happen other than luck of the draw.
  5. That coupled with the fact the dingles demise was in my trans Altlantic years assures that I will not return. Stanley regaining League status is another one. For the sake of local football I will stay where I am.
  6. Poor buggar, then you only know the recent dismal Burnley history and have to rely on the overly embellished stories of the "elders" regarding your World Famous support and footballing history. Brings a tear to my eye you poor poor boy. Power to you for sticking with your team (as misguided as you are) I can relate. When I followed Rovers we were 2nd and 3rd Div. They really only did well years after I left to come here, though they flirted with the big time on a couple of occasions.
  7. That's a bloody good point Rev, Someone at Rovers better be asking some questions about that one. Almost like they are TRYING to rain on the parade. The self flagellation bit? Halftime OK?
  8. You're not alone ozzie, sometimes I hate being a Rovers fans, always wanting them to do well but never going into big games with any sort of confidence we can win. As for the no shows, to me it absolutely beggars belief that someone who plonked down good money for a season ticket would be so lard arse as to not attend a free game of this nature. Yes I am sure there are difficult circumstances for those that may have to travel a long way, that is acceptable, but for any one local not to use the offer is ridiculous and unthikable. Come on lads ease my jitters, just get us in the group stages.
  9. OK marv, you seem decent enough, I'll put me brush away. For the time being.
  10. The irony in this is hilarious. Don't they want to achieve Premier status some day and just how big do they think they are. Personally I think it's great that small clubs are in the fray and some of the big city teams are mixing it up in the Dingle Division. Dingles think we are too small for prem. To be fair, one or two think so.
  11. Marv, if you check closely you may find that the biggest drop in support was through the last season and a half of Souness. About the same time your attendances started to wane. We actually, IMHO, did quite well in terms of keeping support through the relegation years. If we want to bang on about attendances should we start in about some of yours waaaaay back when you were in the old First division, 11,000-13,000's were regular. Lot's showed up for the big games, but the Ipswich's etc your support was crap. Just when did you start attending clarrot games marv? BTW you should fix your sig. I believe the song went Joe Mercer said to Bill Shankly. Took a look over your Clarrotsmad, what I find is the typical response from a dingle to a rovers poster is "don't you have your own board" or terms to that effect. Bit nicer here aren't we. Loved baby Scholes' Germany article, you lot really do hang on grimly to your past don't you.
  12. I'd just like to add I thought it was a cracking header he scored with.
  13. UEFA, Unacceptable Environment For Alcoholics
  14. You'll get precious little sympathy here.
  15. I was watching SSN about a week ago and they did a quick interview with 'Arry at training, I could have sworn I saw Matt Jansen in the background training with them. Anyway, as always good luck to the lad If only Beckha.... errr sorry Sven had decided to take him to Japan/Korea. What was clear at the time of the World Cup watching England is I really really felt that Jansen could have done something good for England. Oh well all the best to Matt he's a genuinely nice lad
  16. Sorry, way things are going though it seems inevitable it's a shame we can't get the crowds. Course I really hope not but we will need some sustained success to bring 'em back.
  17. To be honest, on the crowd thing, I think that pricing would have made little difference. The public of Blackburn are simply not going to go to the games it's been a downhill slide for several years now and it will continue until we can no longer keep attracting and paying decent and the club will decline. We've punched above our weight for a long time, eventually water will find it's own level.
  18. In answer to the question, quite simply NO NEVER.
  19. Entertaining story 1864, good one.
  20. I would guess it will be more like they will be feeling quite chuffed with the point, scoring two. We will relax feeling all good about our selves with the "only played Thursday and travelled" excuse being cited for a horrible performance.
  21. Ouch! Not sure how much I trust Neild either, I see he's off on his campaign of Hughes for Man U again.
  22. So Sparky is blinkered and doesn't understand the game. Should you tell Mr William or do I. Mark Hughes does not seem like a man who plays things that way, seems like a straight up front sort of bloke to me. So I doubt he would leave out what is best for the team just because of ego or such. There may be behind the scenes disciplinary issues, or some other thing we are not privvy to.
  23. Sorry must have clicked the wrong thread, I thought this was the game thread. Had not realised it wa the "neill's a prick, no he's not" thread. What happened did Lucas drop a clanger tonight? Apology accepted Rev, don't think it was you that drew it off thought. Anyway, good result, I feared the worst. As some had mentioned buggar to give away the late goal but shoe in the other foot we'd be happy.
  24. Funny part is up until that match they had been slating the lad left right and centre.
