Mowbrays Successor
Bbrovers2288 replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Out of a change of manager gamble or going into administration gamble I know I’d rather just change the man at the helm. I completely understand your want for a new ownership I just can’t comprehend if it went wrong -

I don’t like what venkys have done to the club as much as anything, however going into administration doesn’t bear thinking about in my opinion. Who is going to want to buy into something to lose millions of pounds -

Poor management absolutely, but they pull the plug and we don’t have a club. A necessary evil I’m afraid so best to let’s just make the best of it -
Heading to Chesterfield by all accounts

We will see. Iv got a feeling next appointment will be better than hat we currently have or had. Venkys are ploughing money hand over fist now in an attempt to get to the prem league, they must know they need right man for the job. Like to think lessons learned -
I’m not going by other so called bigger clubs that shouldn’t be there failures. I’m going by what Iv seen with my own eyes and my own beliefs for my club and it’s ambition. Mowbray doesn’t work for either

I think they have altered their ways quite a few times. Got rid of the shebby Singh nonsence, Jerome Anderson ways, giving managers time now instead of sacking on a whim, pumping money in and not forcing fire sales. I’m not saying they are perfect by any stretch but willing to change I’d suggest a case could be argued -

Lazy to suggest we only go for managers attached to one agency. Venkys for all their faults have shown they are willing to change and learn from past mistakes. I said myself maybe carrick doesn’t want to be manager. to suggest he is too good for us is baffling, see no reason why we aren’t thought of as an attractive management job -
Who took us down? Coyle may have started the process but he didn’t finish it. We had a chance to stay up, lack of ambition in games such as Preston and somebody else , fails me, but anyway we drew 0-0. Relegated. I don’t see much particularly good that any journeyman manager wouldn’t have been able to do. Not my head that needs wobbled, it’s your tinted specs . Open your eyes lad

I can’t really remember Appleton’s time here all that well to be honest. I don’t think it was impressive though, like you say, maybe just too soon. He wasn’t given long in his defence -

Who do you think carrick is going to go to in order to start his managerial career? He isn’t going to get a Man Utd or West Ham job because he is a gamble. As another said, question is more should we take a gamble on carrick and not the other way around. I don’t even know if he wants to be a manager, just felt he sounds knowledgeable in interviews I saw and had a personality I feel would work well with management. Your lack of ambition and pride in our club is astounding. I don’t see us as wee Blackburn, and I’d argue with anyone that said it to me -

Well done mate, absolutely. Small time mentality fans can go and support Chorley, no offence intended for Chorley -
Failure from his appointment. Relegated us. Yes we got promoted from league 1 but the football was horrible, no style , no plan, we got up in spite of him. Had a big budget and players too good for the division we didn’t need to sell. Two further years of poor quality football, false dawns, missed opportunities all while not having to sell and opportunity to spend. All in all, failure

Although I’d prefer to get some big name experienced manager if we were to go the gamble route I reckon Michael carrick might be worthy of a go until the end of the season and see if he has what it takes -

I’m with Tyrone, warning signs were there in promotion season when in the majority we played poorly bar doing enough in short spells to win games. Great chance to get a brand of style with the team and used it to play loan folk out of position. Baffling really -

I think the injuries are another sad state of how we are being run, transfers not being given full medical, lot of players continually picking up niggles so not being managed correctly. You will always get a bad challenge or just an unfortunate injury but we seem to pick them up more than most due to poor conditioning. Are our players as fit as they should be? -

Hate mowbray mate, actually embarrassed he is our manager -
Because he is still here after 4 painful years. Of course nobody is actually unsackable however but I’m sure you knew that or do you just miss exaggeration for effect
-
Agree with your sentiment, to me it’s the fact mowbray is almost unsackable and no end is in sight. It’s painful and wholly frustrating when you want something so bad but can never get it

A great playing rovers playing career can mean I forgive a lot. I imagine behind closed doors he maybe has a slightly different opinion, he probably feels he should toe the party line for the club. mowbray doesn’t have a great playing career here so he gets no credit from me -

I understand the fans frustrations but to start belittling Dunn and then dack is a step too far for me. -
