v Birmingham City (a) - 7/5/22

Nowt to play for… TM should start Vale, can’t stop scoring for Rovers U23s and Wales U23s (or U21s). Give us a chink of hope post summer comings and goings. -
v Bournemouth (h) - 30/4/22

Well we were tonked today - gutted (especially with Burnley’s great escape in full flow) but at least it draws a line, we simply weren’t good enough. Had we won, we probably would still have missed out on the play-offs and we’d be agonising over all the Posh etc results… silver lining hey?! -
To be fair to the club / Venkys, they backed TM this season. Transfer windows we not only strengthened (at the time it seemed that way), but also resisted decent offers for Rothwell (maybe others?). TM has squandered that in the annual confidence sapped, tactical chaos, death spiral. Hopeless and uninspiring.

v Sheffield Utd (a) - 23/2/22 - Match Preview
JPTSwindon replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Another missed opportunity - felt like a play-off match, bits of quality, bits frantic, yellow cards flying. Despite ref calls going our way, but the oddity of Buckley sort of in a centre forward role, Gallagher out wide (and playing) etc - it wasn’t really any surprise we couldn’t score again. We could have had Vale on the bench, to at least have given us an option upfront. Lets hope it clicks on Saturday, we can’t slip up against QPR. -
v Middlesbrough (h) - 24/1/22

That will prove a big 3 points. Not just in the table, but after a run of patchy performances that will lift the team spirit / belief no end. Boro are a very good side, but were not given any space to settle. Great team performance, but for me Buckley’s vision and range of passing was a real joy. Big win. -

Grew up in Kidderminster, such a shame this match was overlooked for TV or Red Button coverage. An amazing result. -

How come ours seems to be the only non red button match? -

3 more points! Perhaps tougher than we hoped, but also showed we could tough it out after they snatched an equaliser. Who would have thought this is where we would end the year, especially after the Fulham tonking. As I’ve posted before, what is exciting is how many of the squad have come through the ranks, are young and firing on all cylinders. Just need the crowds to creep upwards! -

Mad that LF tests weren’t done earlier, with the EFL then able to make a decision before everyone set of for the stadium. -

Two key differences from previous seasons… 1 - Settled side, allows for better cohesion / instinct. 2 - Great mix of players who want to play / impress. Exciting times! -
My first football manager game was on the Amstrad 464 - Soccer Boss. Capped goals at first to 4, so loads of 4-3 wins. Loved it!

Great win today and another clean sheet. What a contrast to last season! Young team, gaining in experience and value - good times. -
First film I saw at the cinema was Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters Afterlife is a great tribute, well worth watching!

Just managed to get promoted via the play-offs in the first season, with no signings (and I terminated most of the loan signings to get the books to balance). 4-3-3. Butterworth 26 league goals, Nyambe, Edun and Pickering stars of the show. £25m pot to stay up. Told the players we would stay up and they were insulted! I fear it will be a tough season ahead.

FM22 is excellent. I’ve played every version and the match engine really delivers. I am midst getting Rovers back to where they belong.

Thumping win, plus more game time and experience for our rapidly improving young players - Dolan, Buckley, Wharton, Butterworth & Pickering. We are also benefitting from less reliance on loanees in the starting XI this season which will help the squad value. Very, very positive 👏🏻 -
v Fulham (h) - 3/11/2021
JPTSwindon replied to CambridgeRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Positives: Match was only 90 minutes, Fulham probably wouldn’t have stopped scoring. Negatives: Everything else. Humiliating. -
Still no news on tickets yet that I can see?
-
Same, I can only see coach tickets available?
-
I see you can buy tickets on the QPR site, but it isn’t clear if that includes for the away end?
-
Games coming thick and fast! I can’t seem to find anything on tickets? All sold out? Rovers site only seems to have coach tickets available?

Same old, same old. Tinkler TM gets the tactics / motivation all wrong. Why oh why does he keep playing people out of position? Magloire at RB?! Hopeless. 6 points thrown away this week. -
