  1. Actually quite surprised Derby went for him. He was a good L1 player but not one of the 'very' best last season. Can only imagine he will be a squad player at Derby.
  2. The more I think about it - I believe us getting Chapman hinges on this and Pulis asked us to whack a bid in around $4 million to get the ball rolling so that their $5.5 million suddenly looks a good deal. Wasn't Chapman in Blackburn yesterday? Could have had a medical in advance?
  3. The only way to accommodate AA up front when DG goes off would involve changing formation in my opinion to have two up top. He is not suited to be like for like with Graham.
  4. How ironic that this transfer deadline day was the one in the past few years where people really got excited about it but its actually turned out to be one of the worst. Claims of 4/5 players (ok not all perms) and bids of up to 4 million going in and we end up with nadda - so far.
  5. If its an experienced winger they wanted - we could have just given them Conway as part of the deal for their guy. That would leave us light in the dressing room timekeeper department thoguh admittedly.
  6. Exactly, some people took days off work for this! Not me as why waste a holiday refreshing BRFC's when I can do that at work anyway (when the boss isnt looking)?
  7. And rushing to get new shirts with 'Nobody' printed on the back.
  8. That is certainly a curse that I have not heard before, made me chuckle actually the first time around - that is if I got it right, duck, dack, and a few other words came to mind before I 'think' I got the word he was saying.
  9. So net spend is about 1 million more than last season in a division lower. That's your competitive budget folks. We will now loan in 4 players on the pretense that they are with a view to signing.
  10. Fact the Rovers twitter has been cold silent all day kinda tells its own story.
  11. I still think this squad is capable of surviving but we should always be looking to strengthen.
  12. Perhaps on the premise that we get Chapman should they get their man?
  13. We cant even get loans over the line - this place will erupt if absolutely nothing happens today.
  14. TM thinks we do if we are aiming for 4/5 signings.
  15. I think we do need some genuine competition for Raya though to keep him on his toes. We saw in the last match that he can still have a clanger in him. problem with keepers is that you have to buy them really, as nobody is going to loan out a keeper just for him to sit on our bench, they will expect him to get minutes. A cheap but Championship experienced keeper would be good - not Steele!
  16. Pretty certain the Canadian was signed purely because he was an international and it gaves us the option to move games on international weeks so we could avoid being without Mulgrew and to a lesser extent Evans.
  17. Deadline day, the stuff of nightmares for F5 keys across the country. Could be a good day for us, money to spend (allegedly) and no players have been seriously linked away all summer.
  18. WOW - I dont think I have ever left this message board for six hours and had to come back to so many pages ! At least its potential signings and not fit birds or arguments about positivity. 4 million - are we really? What the hell was our budget then? Someone mentioned it might be total 10 mil as that is the difference in revenue between the leagues or something a while back on here if i remember? 2 mil on Armstrong (up front at least), lets say for arguments sake a million for Davenport and Rothwell and now we are bidding 4 mil on Martin Freeman and close to 2 mil on Trapp Door?
  19. That list of favourites for the job is sorry reading if you are a Blackpool fan. Like JH, the better ones with potential are not going to go anywhere near it. Appleton would have been a good shout but I think he would have learnt after coming here and he will probably get a shot somewhere better down the road anyway. Have a sinking feeling it will be Coyle as he will do it on the cheap and lives close by. The Oystons dont give a flying fck anyway.
