  1. I really like Travis and the energy he brings to the middle and would rather keep him around rather than send him out on loan tbh. Unless of course we sign somebody else to go in there. I just feel he could end up pushing his way into the starting lineup eventually this season. Evans is likely to get injured at some point and I am not confident Smallwood has what it takes for the Championship. Who else is there? Whittingham is seen as surplus, Rothwell I imagine will compete for the more forward positions and Davenport who is currently injured. I dont think TM sees Bennett as a CM although he can play there. Keep him and blood him when possible and he will eradicate mistakes like Carlisle
  2. I would buy him...but not at 8 mil. Perhaps performance added bonuses on top of the 5 we put in and a sell-on fee. Even that seems over the top really but...
  3. But you said you dont want us to sign players for lots of millions in June ! Why do you change your mind so much? This is why the Chadometer came about ! Have an opinion and stick to it instead of changing it to suit the current management team ! Previosuly you did not want us spending millions - now you want us spending millions on 'potential' and a youtube clip! Do you not see why people get so wound up with your postings?
  4. Exactly, Chaddy wants it because we the club are seemingly interested despite Chaddy's comments a few months ago citing he would not want us to spend millions on players. Nobody is allowed to debate this potential signing in Chaddy's eyes. Even though it goes against what he himself wanted just a couple of months ago. Will you ever learn Chadster?
  5. Isnt it more than they just spend on a forward who is ahead of him in the squad? If the kid is worth that much, why are they buying strikers worth less and playing them ahead of him while this kid cannot barely even get on the bench? Someone mentioned Bamford went for 7 million and he has a very healthy scoring record in this league and plenty of experience - even won player of the season apparently one year. So how is this kid worth more than that?
  6. Anything further from that MacAthony chap about Maddison?
  7. Do we really need both? Would be nice of course but it sounds like he is just covering bases with the two. (Nixon i mean).
  8. Strange thing is, that long before any of us knew we might have a budget as large as we allegedly do, TM said in the papers that some targets were real and then a club comes in and bids 7 million for them. I really wonder if Bamford was a target of ours early doors. At the time people suggested it was Gallagher but i'm not so convinced now.
  9. Ouch! Definitely do it externally and save it - could even reuse them all by combining them at the end of the season to get a feel of how they all performed overall! Now that will be some work haha.
  10. It will happen eventually, just hope we can continue to match his ambitions and start challenging nearer the top in the next couple of seasons (if we even manage to hold onto him for that long).
  11. Definitely, two different types of full backs with their own strengths. Just feel we have lacked one that likes to overlap and get forward when he can. As you say though, its an area we are okay in with those two.
  12. Buy a player in a transfer - breaks his leg first game Loan a player with an obligation to buy in January - breaks his leg first game Same difference.
  13. Just feel Bell provides more width, can take a man on and has some decent pace. Needs to work on his end-product a bit though.
  14. Dont think I would want him purely as a loan - that only benefits Forest as it increases his value if he does well. Would rather take a young PL striker if we are just going to loan without a permanent fee agreed.
  15. I would like to see more of him central to see if he really can cut it there in the Championship. He is certainly clinical and a more natural finisher than Graham, more pace and movement too - its just his physicality which is a worry. The team would have to play to his feet or through balls for him to get on the end of. Would be a good idea to switch him there when DG comes off and bring someone on like Rothwell into the three behind. Better than relying on Samuel or Nuttall in a straigh swap for DG in my opinion.
  16. Bowyer did a great job both here and there, sure he was raw here but he steadied the ship and has since progressed.
  17. If TM can at the very least replicate the form we had with him in the Championship we will be fine. Yes his stats are great but at the same time we have to remember that most of them came with a Championship squad in L1 plus the addition of a number of excellent signings (which he should take credit for). This season is where we can really judge him. Besides that though, I have to admit that his honesty and the way he seems intent on building this club back up is a testament to guy that he is. He really is a good bloke with the best interests of the club in hand.
  18. To get a better player than Dack we would have to pay at least double that tbh
  19. problem is Smallwood doesn't get suspended but becomes a fraction of the player when he is a card away. Edit: BDS beat me to it by seconds.
  20. I didnt actually say that, just going off the two games gone. Its more to do with the good work that Lenihan has been doing - at no stage did I suggest he should be replaced.
  21. Think when you compare the past two league games, its clear that Lenihan has done most of the good work back there. That said, Mulgrew brings other qualities such as leadership and his set pieces.
