  1. Think Bell deserves a run of games now and Williams should have to force his way back in.
  2. I imagine he would be the bench option this season unless he really impresses greatly from the get go - I would imagine he would be told that the plan is to mold him into the main striker for next season. Minutes from the bench and a good shout at being a regular starter the next season certainly sounds better to me than rotting in the Forest reserves.
  3. Hurst has gone to having a road named after him and being the messiah to the most hated man in the country inside six months to their fans. They expected and accepted that he would go at the end of the season but the manner of that departure - which was quite obviously tapping up and had been agreed long before the end of the season is what has annoyed them. They say he stopped doing interviews after matches and that their poor run of form at the end of season massively correlated with what must have been him with his head already on Ipswich. Then to make matters worse, for them, he decides to, in their opinion, tap up two of their best players (made obvious by their synchronised handing in of transfer requests) and make offers to his former club for them via text message - right at the end of the window leaving them little time to replace.
  4. Could you imagine??? He already abuses the ignore function
  5. Not really bothered what the bookies think but from what we have seen so far, I would assume we have it in us to be safe at the very minimum. Anything on top will come down to any more additions we bring in and whether we get lucky on the injury side of things. Evans is likely to break down again at some point but we are more than adequately stocked there and I doubt we would really miss him that much despite playing OK so far. My main worry injury wise is Mulgrew - we were lucky to get a full season (give or take) out of him last season but he had been hampered with them prior to that. Downing as a replacement? Williams? It really does not bare thinking about really.
  6. Thats the team I would be going with. Not much off the bench to excite though - which we will hopefully be addressing.
  7. He was here 20 years ago, yes 20 years ago. I liked him though as he was open and honest.
  8. I wouldnt, its been crashing like a bitch all year.
  9. Exactly, even as an impact sub he makes us stronger and still so young, so plenty of time to develop into a starter.
  10. It is but even three from the four or similar deals but with the likes of Brereton or some other attractive names would go some way to nullifying the disappointment of deadline day.
  11. Somebody mentioned Sam Alladyce who has quite a bit of experiencing managing teams tipped for relegation and him saying something along the lines of the first ten games being massively important. In his experience, those who got good hauls of points on the board early usually managed to stay up, those that didn't usually got relegated. Its easy to say its a long season but we certainly do not want to be on the back foot early doors. We need a win to keep the lads confidence up and to get ourselves firmly involved in the top half of the table. This is especially when you consider that on our paper our fixture list in the early part of the season looked good for us with plenty of winnable games. Two of those have already become draws when arguably we could and probably should have won both of them. The good news is that it really should have been 6 points - which in itself means that we have competed and shown that so far, there isnt all that much to be afraid of. The bad news is that for whatever reason, we have not managed to get the full points on the board. Great time to play Hull, so lets take it to them.
  12. If that came true and they were all 'to buy' - I would completely forgive the permanent window shenanigans.
  13. Micah Richards and Charlie Adam - two signings I would be tempted to avoid. Firstly they are at the wrong age completely and secondly, their wages would be quite huge (unjustifiably so).
  14. Haven't read this thread in the regards to the post-match aspect but all I can say is that isn't it the done thing to bring off your worst performers rather than your best ones? Okay, in the first game, Dack wasnt at his best but it was his first game at this level but he still seemed to be the one player in the team that could make something happen. Palmer from what I read was the best player on the park in the last game. So I am a little confused as to why both were brought off. Sounds like Millwall were there for the taking, so a little disappointed at the result. I imagine mid-safety to possibly relegation battling teams is going to be our level this season - unless this perm to loan, loan to perm, or whatever it is manages to net us some gems.
  15. Bolton and Wigna now both winning - crazy
  16. Having read more about Brereton and what their fans say about him, I would probably opt for him if had a direct choice as he has plenty of potential. Gallagher is not someone I would be totally against either - as long as we do get somebody on a loan to permanent deal in the striking department. Massively important as this player will have to supplement Graham and eventually become his replacement. We do not want to have to be trying to find one next season especially with so many other players being out of contract next season.
  17. Had a dream we lost this 1-2 last night and everything went off on here. When BRFCs is now in my dreams I think it might be a good time to take a break!
  18. Surely if Forest hired an agent to find a club for Brereton, they would have told the player they are looking to sell him? As from what I gather, the player was shocked and didnt want to go when we put our bid in. Would you even need to hire an agent really anyway to get rid of a prmosing teenager that was linked with top PL clubs a year ago? Surely just whacking him on the transfer list and making a few phonecalls around Championship clubs would bring in the interest.
  19. Thats his new target. He expected 2/3 in yesterday and was waiting anxiously to gloat that he was right all along. It didnt happen so he now moves the goalposts. He EXPECTED 2 signings yesterday and told everyone else beforehand that it was going to happen and that we were all impatient and not trusting TM. Now it will be the same until the 31st where he says he expects 2/3 loans to be permanent - lets see if that happens too.
  20. I think it was reported they have brought in 15 new players this summer - might be wrong. They knew Maddison, Edwards and Marriot would be going, in fact they love selling on players as its their model.
  21. I think that would go someway to appeasing many - would still need a good striker in alongside that though at a minimum.
  22. Respect you for that comment - sometimes it feels like us versus them in this thread but there has to come a point when the 'positives' - there i said it, have to admit have to climb down from their horse and agree that things have not gone as 'positively' as they would have liked instead of then changing the rhetoric. I dont think anyone can dress deadline day up as anything other than disappointing. We dont know the reasons of course but for whetever reason, we left it late to bid (allegedly) multiples of millions for players that were valued far more than what we bid. Were these gesture bids to try and convince the fans we were trying or just smoke and mirrors to deflect for the fact that we ballsed everything up and have to make it look like we actually did something? The QPR lad, did we do any work to establish before hand whether he might be available? How about the Forest kid? We were knocked back sharpish on both it seems which to me sounds like desperation or as I said earlier, smoke and mirrors. We left these bids to the eleventh hour - seemingly after we had realised we were not getting anything but had to create some kind of stir in the media. The media has been dumbing us down bit by bit to expect loans to be our main bit of business while the club has been telling everyone we have 5/6 planned to come in and millions to spend. People keep harping on about the loan window but I think most will be bitterly disappointed if they think we will be tieing up loans with a fixed future fee. it serves no function to the selling club unless they have players they want shut that they dont deem able to grow in value during that loan period. TM himself said himself last season that the loans he made last season were with a view to more permanent business - only AA has come from that so far. Chapman possibly too to come but I dont think TM sees him as a top target. Anyhow - lets hope something good happens in this loan window as we go into August with a decent first team but nothing else behind it. By August 31st if we have not picked up a decent amount of points we might come to regret it - especially as any new loans that do come in will have to bed in and learn our way of playing.
  23. No, to me the disappointing thing is the 'we have money to spend', 'we expect 2/3 or in before the deadline', 'we want 5/6 in to add to the squad' - all stuff that has come out in the media in the last couple of days. 5/6? We didnt get 1. If they have had told us that there would not be any incomings or lessened our expectations then fine - but no, its a load of bullony in a last ditch attempt to sell a few more season tickets.
