  1. You make some good points regarding the obvious misspending and mismanagement at the club prior to those sales. Anything of value was shipped out at the detriment to the team which ultimately saw us relegated but this was probably after the venkies had seen enough of their money seemingly going down the drain. Like you alluded to however, as much as we all hope that they are in a position to not only trust TM but continually back his sensible strategy without pulling the rug from beneath him - you never know with this lot. What I liked about one of TMs recent interviews was where he said he has millions of agents in his ear all day long offering him millions of different players but he ignores them and concentrates on working with his own recruitment team to get his own targets. I bet the same couldnt be said of one or two others in the not so distant past.
  2. The key is being able to 'reinvest' from sales which is where we have been let down before. They have done the whole buying young, potential and selling them off for profits before but stopped dead at the next part of the plan which was to reinvest that money on more.
  3. I think TM would have known all about Dack from his time managing Coventry in the same league - he won the Player of the Year in that season too.
  4. Gets injured the deal falls through altogether. They are obviously happy to sell him so I would not read too much into not being in the cup squad.
  5. Well you could either use a VPN or you could just wait a little longer until one of either of the two clubs uploads them to their YouTube channels -
  6. Yes, he is a deep playmker type. Interested to see what he can offer - very highly rated at city.
  7. Not sure he is in Best's class as either a player or a drinker but he could prove to be the best bit of business (financially) that this club has ever done if he carries on as he has been. Just hope we can match his ambitions for as long as possible.
  8. Bit harsh on AA who I think has played well up front in the last two games but I agree that at home it should be Graham and let AA off the leash when away with all that additional space. Whoever suggested dropping him to the bench though - cannot agree with that.
  9. I would be delighted with those three on perm deals. I think we could shut up shop then.
  10. Could be another reason why Evans has upped his game, probably knows the club are actively looking to strengthen that area and its going to be either him or Smallwood in alongside him. If he loses his spot the chances of a new contract get slimmer. Throw in Davenport and Travis who will be competing for a spot as well and he really needs to be playing well to hold his place.
  11. At the end of the day, we can all say how we would prefer to spend the budget but it is TM who will ultimately decide and I dont think he would be signing this kid if he didnt believe he has what it takes. It would be a gamble yes and in my hands I would probably spread this apparent 8 million around on a few more players if that is all we had but, and I cant believe i'm going all Chaddy on this but we would have to trust his decision. We do not even really know how much our budget is anyway and could possibly be trying to fill other positions too - though I would expect a couple in on loan.
  12. The benefits of having a good academy. Lenihan, Nyambe, Raya and now Travis starting to get involved. Really excited to see how far these kids can go.
  13. Im more amused at the different spellings people have for this breretino guy.
  14. That miss though! Played well otherwise I thought.
  15. We really needed that win to keep these boys confidence humming along nicely. Undefeated in how many matches now? Really proud of the boys, Hull were pretty awful but winning away anywhere is an excellent result.
  16. We should have won the other two as well - we have nothing to fear in this league.
  17. Have to say that Evans had an excellent game for me and was MOM, Armstrongs pace is going to cause problems for a lot of teams this season - what a snip. Lenihan the usual rock at the back. Nyambe just gets better and better. LB is Bells to lose now. Raya - what a stop. Those four (excluding Evans) are all young - what will they be worth in todays market after a good season? Then add Dack into that too.
  18. TM and the medical team would not let him on the pitch surely if it was anything to worry about.
  19. WBA were 4-1 up then i checked about 4 minutes later and it was 7-1
  20. When is it our turn to play them? Win this and we got Reading next who are still yet to register a point - could be in the playoffs after next match.
  21. Could suit when playing away from home, decent pace up top to counter with. DG struggling with a knock or Armstrong keeping his place due to Carlisle?
  22. Agree that its harsh, our players often misplace passes but most of the time we are not punished by a 30-yard blockbuster because of them. Was just a peach of a goal and would be difficult to blame him for the goal in my opinion - most shots from there go into the stands.
