  1. So you wouldnt watch us if we started all over again?
  2. So what is the alternative that you are waiting for? That one day we might stumble on PL? I realise that going into admin will put us back but it will also give us a future and give us our club back. What future do we have under this lot? What are we actually doing? We are just bumbling along with no real hope of ever doing more than what we are now. We hire unambitious managers that run the club from top to bottom and even hire their own bosses. There is no direction from the owners, no nothing. They just put a few mil in each season as if to swat us away. And they expect fans to buy into it?
  3. Job is totally the wrong word. Edit: I wrote out a long couple of paragraphs explaining why and it ended up bringing up emotions that are still raw to this day. So decided to delete them. Its been done to death and I think you should just leave it there before stirring things up again. Accept it, some will never return until they are gone (awaits the "until we are PL again" response).
  4. Feel another Brexiteers/remainers boycotters/nocotters argument coming on. Bout that time of year I suppose.
  5. Dack was actually 750k, which is still a lot more than what BB is worth in my eyes.
  6. There are clearly numerous others. Wells, who you tried to use as an example and Bamford are two players bought in the same bracket as SG and BB who have scored goals. Both signings have sofar proved to be a waste of money...even Samual got similar numbers. Unfotunately, good signings will attract praise and bad signings will attract the opposite. That's just the way it is. Not the player's fault of course but the manager that deemed it right to spend such money.
  7. Hilarious. SG and BB have proven (thus far) to be awful signings. I dont care if other clubs might have made bad signings too. We signed two expensive flops in a row. So, we are to expect that 7 million buys you 1 or 2 goals a season from a striker? You are acting like this is the going rate. We could of course flip it around and mention all the bargains/good signings that clubs have made in the Championship in recent years. Mbuena at brentofrd, 5 mil and 20 + goals, Watkins at the same club cost a mil or two and is now on the cusp of a 20 mil transfer. Pukki and Dack off the top of my head. Sure there are plenty more but cant be assed to look.
  8. Chaddy, you are happy with whatever the club does...we sold him, you are happy. If we didnt sell him, you would be happy we didnt sell him. I dont recall you saying that we should sell Raya in your opinion...until it happened. This is why you will not say whether we should extend Downings contract, you have zero opinion. If we extend, you will be happy and the club made the right decision, if we dont extend, you will be happy and say the club made the right decision. Selling Raya on it's own is not really the issue here. Yes i rated him and feel he will go on to have a PL career. Despite that, if we had replaced him with an experienced keeper that was better or at least equal, we would all be happy in the main, We didnt. We brought in a desperate loan kid after somehow not managing to line up a replacement before selling off our goalie. He has turned out to be one of the worst goalies I have seen pull on our jersey. But you are happy we weakened our squad, all just to score points despite having no opinion on anything ever....
  9. So 5 mistakes in total means he has not improved his decision making? Your are judging hi from a handful of games rather than reading what Brentford fans say about him?
  10. Bargain in most peoples eyes. When a BB costs 7 mil, a HR at 6 mil is a downright snip.
  11. Have you watched every Brentford match this season? How do you know if his decision making is still the same? Why dont you go to the Brentford forums to see what their fans think of his decision making. As for not good enough, its good enough to be recognised as one of the best keepers in the Championship - while we had Peter Crouch's brother in goal.
  12. One of their best players this season, 8 mil in PL is diddly squat. Good signing. Also an excellent player to have for if they do come straight back down. Happy for Reed more than anything if it does go through. Been wanting to play PL and done very well on each of his Championship loans so deserves the chance.
  13. Yeah but these are your Dolce and Gabana players, not Tesco basics. Top top players are top top players for a reason. They have the nouse and football brains to be able to take to new positions far easier than some of the plodders we have.
  14. Sad thing is that he must still be better than what we have.
  15. Never liked that BMW thing, corny. Nowhere near as cool as the SAS or BAG (Brereton, Armstrong and Gallagher). They often have overhauls though and simply replace outgoings with incoming that have the potential to be just as good or better. The M was the latest one this season to come in at 5 million to replace the outgoing Maupay at 20 million. Comes straight in and bags 20+ goals. Out went Konsa for 12 million and in comes Janssen and Pinnock for 8 million combined. I expect perhaps B and W to go. I don't think they will actually miss Benrahma that much. On his day unplayable but whenever I have seen him play, he is lazy, inconsistent and greedy. Cant knock the numbers he pulled up though. Watkins would be a good signing for a lower half PL team. M though, first season in the league, so expect them to hold onto him to get better value after a strong second season. As for the stadium, that's probably been paid for by the net profits they have been pocketing in previous seasons. Doubt they had it all riding on promotion.
  16. Ok, after this im closing the browser lol. In the same way that his 'individual penalty' save got them to the final? Brentford conceded two goals, conceding the first is not necessarily why they lost is it? They lost the match 2-1, hence the team failed. The 'team' lost, you could blame their strikers for not scoring prior to Fulham going ahead or their midfield for not stopping Cairney and Reed from controlling it or their manager for not being bold enough. When a GK makes a mistake it can lead to a goal but it is the TEAMS contribution throughout the entire match the determines the result.
  17. So he didnt lose them the final on his own either? You cannot use the defense to play down his heroics and then lay the blame solely on him for them not getting promoted. Edit: Really leaving it here now. Too much to do.
  18. Have you ever thought it might be you Joe? I did ask you to look at the way you speak to people the other day in your last rant. You think your opinion is the be all and end all and cannot stomach people disagreeing. Anyway, will leave it there as busy at work and do not fancy another few hours of back and forth.
  19. No, they wouldnt have been in the final if not for him.
  20. Ironically, Brentford that is renowned for going the analytical route and arguably getting ahead from it, signed the 'shit' Raya.
  21. It's quite clear he wanted to go after being hung out in the press time and again by our manager. I see Nyambe going a similar way. It just isn't the way to deal with things. Raya's horrific facial injury seems to be forgotten but I am sure any keeper would suffer a loss of confidence after something like that - wearing that mask you would be in two minds half the time whether to go for a ball. I am not saying the lad was faultless as we all know he wasn't by a long stretch but there is huge potential there. His errors this season for Brentford have reduced, his distribution is now one of his strengths and he has worldie saves in his locker. At the end of the day, if we had replaced him with a keeper of similar or better quality, it wouldn't be talked about half as much as it is. It is the fact we downgraded and used the money to buy another dud striker to play on the wing.
  22. Name a better keeper we had than Raya in the last 10 years. Yes, he is prone to the odd gaff but it is clear he has come on leaps and bounds at Brentford and what did we get out of it? 3 million and a contender for our worst keeper in the last 10 years - who luckily, was not ours permanently. Brentford would not even have been in the final had it not been for Raya, so to lump it solely on him is far-fetched, to say the least. As for Brentford, they are inching closer each year, so I expect them to be among the frontrunners for automatics next season. Benrahma will probably be off as their major sale and they will no doubt unearth another gem to replace him.
