  1. And I am not against the idea either, its kinda the point of having an academy. The issue is if you are pushing players through too quickly in the hope of hitting the jackpot - where is Henley now? We know where Lowe is...how were these two ever considered good enough for a PL side?
  2. Not sure myself but either way, out of the three, he is probably the only one that you could class a success, somewhat. Not quite PL quality though.
  3. He captained England Under 21's you know..... Just goes to show that the model here has always been to try and sell off the youngsters after adding value to them....Problem with Lowe is that he could never increase in value. I guess it all started with Phil Jones, they thought, 'wow, this is a moneymaker, who else we got coming through'. Thats why we had the likes of Hanley, Henley and Lowe pushed into the team before they were anywhere near ready...a big reason why we went down.
  4. Yeah rules are rules - admin = points deduction. If they appeal, it opens a whole can of worms.
  5. Cant be doing with this thread, have enough trouble working out my age.
  6. You could tell he had been practiscing and couldnt wait to do that knee slide/corner flag punch celebration.
  7. Somebdy has even changed the wiki page for Travis to say that he plays for Coventry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Travis
  8. Travis to Coventry lol, why not take Arma too!!!
  9. Yeah Martinez at Arsenal I would be all over. Been loaned to the championship before and shone. Rather get him permanently tho.
  10. So we give up striving for a better manager just because we missed our chance with Warnock? Stick with TM and sure, we will probably bumble along for a little while and become a regular mid-table Championship club but with our debt, there has to be more urgency. The whole nice guy ethos is reflected via our manager and our team and it is to the detriment of results. Be a good pro, kiss ass a bit, get to training early and leave late and you are are nailed on to start despite ability or form. I just feel that TM is not the man to take us up a notch...his teams generally have a soft underbelly. We need winners, not pros happy to be where they are and to plod along (ala Bennett, Mugrew, Evans, Smallwood). We need hungry players that aspire to playing in the PL, not happy to sit on a nice contract at a mid-table CHamps club. I think we have some youth coming through that will help with this but I think there are plenty of managers out there that could do a better job with them.
  11. Arma has finally shown that he can score a good amount of goals at this level. Centrally too, so you would imagine that he will have suitors. Not sure how he and Dack would work in a similar way to Dack and DG up front though. Dacks injury helped him because he would usually be wide.
  12. Yeah Rothwell getting the goal was optimistic at best. I guess it was on target tho but that looked more like an attempted clearance rather than a deflection. Happy for him tho
  13. Exactly, Raya has a howler in him as do most keepers his age, yet he also has the ability to regularly pull off worldie saves - something that Walton doesnt. I stand by my opinion that we would ave been better off keeping Raya instead of selling him to cough up for SG. Mistakes get ironed out the older you get and Brentford know this. Raya could go on to have a good PL career now.
  14. No complaints, all players that will be here next season. Plenty of youth on the bench too.
  15. He wasnt that good for us, decent player but I would hardly say he was a popular former player. Most put him forward due to the work done in the academy.
  16. 3 times the GK Walton is and will probably be playing PL footie next season. Brentfords recruitment is widely lauded, so surely they know something that we dont and thought the 3 mil was a snip for the potential that is now showing through under proper coaching.
  17. No, that is his current job. I asked about his last job. You are judging Keane on his previous job - so surely you would have said we shouldnt touch TM judging on his performance at his last couple of clubs?
