  1. Their keeper is better than ours too - not saying much i know.
  2. This is it for me - yes he has been pretty awful this season tbh. but he starts, then is dropped and not seen for a few matches, then picked again in another position. his best form came from consistent selection and he loooked great. Give him a run till the end of the season and then make a decision. He does flatter to deceive but there is a player there.
  3. it matters cos your captain should be someone who is one of the first names on the teamsheet (if not the first). Gives him another ready made excuse to slot Benno in somewhere.
  4. Dont like their fans (especially over the Dack injury) and dont like their manager (after what he was saying in L1). That said, I wouldnt wish this happening to any club and I include Burnley in that.
  5. We would have lost if Lenihan was playing anyway. First child, come on...who doesnt want to be there? Do you think he would be totally focused on the game anyway? First kid is a big deal. As someone mentioned above, it almost seems like they planned for this baby so that it would not interrupt his football but along came a pandemic - so cannot hold anything against him.
  6. All magnificent players playing with other magnificent players. Our players are not good enough to make that system work. he has tried it with Dack numerous times, Holtby now and while they are both good players, the rest of the team does not have the nous to play it. Would love to see Liverpool, Barca or Man City pull it off with SG and BB on the wings.
  7. I think the time is up for TM but i really do not buy into this topping up his pension and does not want to get promoted. He would no doubt be given a much better contract if he were to get us promoted. He would be able to dine out on that promotion for years with the Venkies, the first manager in a dozen(?) to get us back there. They wouldnt be sacking him for years after that even if we were relegated. He would also have that promotion on his cv and could easily land another gig. I highly doubt he doesnt want promotion. For me, it is just that he is a limited manager that always struggles against the poorer teams in the league that come with a gameplan. He overthinks things to the extent that he confuses the fans, players and even himself i suspect. Then there is the two duds he wasted all our cash on, the strikers on the wing crap, defenders are coming, finding anywhere to get Benno in the team and the negligence of our defense. For me, these are the reasons he has to go...
  8. Just the beginning, expect we will see quite a few clubs going under.
  9. He has looked decent in the last two games and I really hope he kicks on now. At least he is starting to resemble something of a footballer. Previously he would fall over alot, miscontrol the ball, and played like the kid that always got picked last in PE. Seeing him with a bit of confidence (and you need to have confidence to get a barnet like that) and taking on players has given me some hope that we may have a player afterall. Long way to go though - we need the performances of the last two games consistently and some goals on top.
  10. 1-3 AA with two and one for Holby Walton throws into the net for theirs.
  11. Good post. I would take Mitrovic for the 12 mil we spent on BB and DG in a heartbeat.
  12. You have never rated Nyambe so not surprise to see this. You were once championing Bennett over him, which is insane when you look at them both now. One is a player that has shown that if you play him he gets better and develops, the other just dives in and gives away penalties and freekicks- he gives fist pumps to the fans though, so all is forgiven.
  13. sounds like you want him sold. I have been a strong Nyambe fan over the years, even when many others were on his back. Do think his development stalled for a bit under certain managers but he has always come across a bit differently to most modern day footballers. Seems a nice kid who while a little shy, has the attributes needed to be a top quality fullback. This season alone, i feel he has come on leaps and bounds. Still does not quite have the end product but is becoming a big asset to the team. If he can sort out his end product, we have a serious player on our hands.
  14. Far from inspiring. Never played higher than League 1. Number two perhaps.
  15. Pretty even. Holtby, BB and Nyambe with some good moments. Tough to break down are Wigan but it only takes one good chance. I am more concerned about the other end where we are making some mistakes.
  16. Some really smart plays from Holby and Nyambe showing what we missed.
  17. Probably right, mine was more a hopeful lineup than one I think we will see.
  18. yeah or this with Rothwell having a go at that False 9 malarky. Walton Nyambe Adarabioyo Lenihan Downing Bennet Travis Holtby Gallagher Rothwell Brereton
  19. My thoughts exactly. There is not much pace in that side apart from him.
  20. I dunno, we need someone in there that has a bit of pace and can take people on.
  21. TM been reading the boards again, Smallwood on the bench. I know it wont be true but kinda hoping Downing at LB and Bennett playing just about anywhere else...clutching at straws.
  22. He is 26 now too, not a young up and coming player anymore. By now we should be seeing close to the final product - which as it stands is not that great. Difficult to imagine he can get much better from here on in. If he cannot nail down a permanent spot in the championship by now, he unlikely ever will - League 1 is his level. We didnt bring in Cunnigham not to start, so it would seem that TM does not see Bell as the longterm answer either.
  23. Yup, Pontus Jansson seems to have shored up their defense no end (with a little help from a certain GK).
  24. If the table was ordered by GD alone, we are top 6 by a few goals. Really think Brentford could make the top two, they have the best GD in the league +34 (8 and 10 more than WBA and Leeds respectively). Pretty impressive.
