  1. We will only be paying 5m if he shows he is worth it in the championship. If he’s not, we don’t pay it. I don’t know why this is so hard to understand.
  2. A winger with pace, a striker and a left back. That’s where my expectations are at.
  3. Hirst isn’t who I was hoping for but I am glad to see us sign a striker. On the positive side it’s a loan with an option to buy so no risk for us. Portsmouth fans seem to rate him very highly and he sounds like a great partner for Dack to play off.
  4. Personally not bothered about SVDB. Would be nice to have him as he is a quality player but I also believe Carter is ready for the championship and would like to see him get his chance. My hopes for the rest of window would be: Out: Diaz (15m), Butterworth (loan/perm) In: Birkimevic (5m), Styles (2m), bowler (3m)
  5. oh fairs - Sharpe originally said it was 4. Yes that is a little odd
  6. 2 attacking signings if Diaz goes. Really hope we make plays for Bowler and Birkimevic
  7. 4 year deal no? mentioned in Sharpes article about Hyam signing
  8. sounds like SVDB is also set to be wrapped up. 2 very very good signings there
  9. I agree with this. VanHecke is impossible to turn down tho
  10. He’s been rumoured for a while hasn’t he so could be a good shout. Not one I want personally tho
  11. 100%. I’ve seen enough of JDT too suggest we’ve got a goodun. People are expecting too much too quickly.
  12. We’re not getting promoted this season, while obviously would be nice, it has never been the ambition this season. Us fans need to see the bigger picture. We’re going through a rebuild while also blooding through some extremely talented youngsters into the squad. Next season is where the pressure will be on to make a serious playoff push - however this season it’s about JDT applying his style of play, integrating extremely talented players such as Wharton, Phillips, Garrett into the squad, while giving him 3 Windows to bring the squad to where he wants it to be. Only next season can we truly judge how Broughton and JDT have truly done. I would happily take a midtable finish this season aslong as a clear identity is established throughout the season with the right players developing.
  13. Isn’t this the first game he’s missed?
  14. I wasn’t really away of Hyam when I heard the rumours yday however having looked into it, seems to be an incredible bit of business for 1.5m! Statistically up there with the best in the championship both physically and in possession, never injured and experienced (but crucially yet to enter his prime as a CB). The Szmodics deal doesn’t convince me, however Brittain and Morton seem quality from what I’ve seen and I imagine Hyam will fit into the same bracket. If Phillips signs a new deal and we’re able to get a quality attacking addition, 2 if Diaz leaves, then I’m happy with our window. Though wished we had got eveything done earlier. There’s no need for 2 CBs IMO.
  15. 100% a desperation signing. I was so positive as couple fo weeks ago but losing faith. lots of reports that Hyam is on his way to. Coventry sources saying bid has been accepted
  16. Caulker’s contract has been terminated today. This isn’t a signing that I would be happy with
  17. Too much speculation around Diaz - would be tempted to leave him out. Having said that our options for the left doesn’t look great…
  18. To be honest I would be more than happy with 1 CB coming in this summer. Aslong as that player is of quality. Some people may laugh at that considering where we are currently at, however with Carter and Wharton set to return and Phillips set to sign a new contract then I don’t really see it as a problem position for us. LB is actually my biggest area of concern. Pickering has lost his confidence and is no where near the player he was 9 months ago. Why we haven’t firmed up our interest in Styles is beyond me.
  19. Kaminski Brittain Carter/Phillips Ayala Pickering Travis Morton Markandy Dack Diaz Gally Has to be the team IMO. Hoping Carter is fit to take Phillips out the firing line but I also don’t fee he has looked out of place. The only thing I would say is that between him and Ayala and Phillips they are too safe in the passing - it’s all sideways. They need to be abit more ambitious and be prepared to be more progressive, skip a man and get the pass right. Oniell sacked doesn’t change anything - Stoke are there for the taking. Get the win and our start to the season looks exceptional again.
  20. As a london based rover fan I’m buzzing with that…
