  1. Hahaha, Venkys and Southgate are diametrically opposed.. Make it happen! haha
  2. Bring in a good manager on a 6 month deal and make the next few months exciting.. We've got plenty of pace, Carter and Trondstadt hopefully back soon.. I'd piss myself if went up and Derby went down.. In saying that, bring in a drab poor manager and we could could still get sucked into the quagmire- it's not inconceivable..
  3. Someone just gave a great shout out on Radio Lancashire!
  4. I do hope Derby go down- never liked them! Let's see who we bring in now..
  5. Sorry, I really like Eustace. This situation stings and I don't want him to go.. It's painful seeing what the club has been reduced to.. Had a tough week and this is the cherry. If JE decides to leave I can't blame him. Quality manager and comes across a nice chap..
  6. I'd be absolutely heart broken if that occured... I don't think I'd be able to watch football again..
  7. Signing players from Plymouth when we needed bodies for a play-off push.. Exactly why Eustace wants out.. Could have been O'Brien or an emerging talent from league one or two.. I don't dislike Forshaw, but he is not what we needed..
  8. Ever since Venkys have taken us over we've been in decline. We were once a model of how to run a club.. Look at us now.. Until we're rid of them I think we're realistically hoping for a miracle and even then it doesn't fix anything really..
  9. Oh I agree, whole-heartedly. Venkys need to fuck off. However, it looks very unlikely, and in the short-term we have a decent chance of play-off's. Whether Eustace stays or doesn't the issues that plague the club aren't going anywhere. So let's just try pulling off a miracle. As you said, the contract situation and short-term thinking is disastrous and will eventually, you would think, lead to us being relegated...
  10. The issue is the ownership imo. However, they're going nowhere. We are in a very decent position. Someone like Edwards, Warnock et.al, might just be able to pull off a miracle.. Venkys out!
  11. A list of work managers Joachim Lowe or Xavi for me... Just saw Stevie Gerrard on that list and my blood ran cold- please god no!
  12. Kargbo looks quality.. Glad he's tied down to a long term contract.. Buckley looked better having pace to ping it to.. Given Beck, Travis, Pears, Brittain all sat it out I see a lot to be positive about.. If Eustace decides to sod off bring in a warnock or Cooper on a 6 months contract... Could be an interesting end to the season .
  13. He didn't strike me as having an attitude. Rather, he was a wide man without pace, that could finish.. I think Siggy would have been better off playing centrally in a midfield three roaming a little bit..
  14. Too slow .. Perhaps would have been better playing centrally...
  15. Aldi do a lovely coffee stout! Not something to drink pint after pint of, but one or two is lovely!
  16. What's your tipple, Gav?
  17. Aldi do some belting reds.. Not a massive fan of Malbecs, but this one is really nice, full bodied and only £7.99 doesn't break the bank- solid 7.5./10. The funky label takes it up to an 8.. Another belter is this 'Bastid', I buy red's based off label- doe's it look interesting and price- not too expensive, not too cheap.. Bordeaux, £9.99, bought it because it was sounded like bastard- thought it would amuse the wife, but it didn't.. However, went down a treat, very nice 8/10- worth a dabble... Looking forward to scanning through this thread.. Any other Aldi red wine lovers in here?
  18. Ahhh, didn't see this, can mods just move it across?
  19. Thought I'd start a thread for any of us red wine connoisseurs.. It's funny how our palate changes over the years. I used to hate red wine. Now, it's the only thing I tolerate. Beer makes me so ill. Red wine also gives me a totally different 'tipsy' or 'drunk' feeling, perhaps that's just me? Anyway. Myself and the wife have had a dabble at quite a few different ones.. I grew quite fond of the 'Reprobates' one- not the one with mugshots on but they've stopped that unfortunately. Please bare in mind I am not an expert- I like some better than others and have developed a bit of a taste- but I just buy based off how interesting the bottle is and cost- cool looking bottle, not too cheap, not ridiculously expensive- we will have a dabble. A refined method of scouting. So, without further a-do We had a do at this one it's a Bordeaux, bought it because it's called "Bastide" and I thought it was amusing- wife didn't agree. Very nice. 7/10 Currently supping this Malbec, very funky label, full bodied and highly drinkable 8/10 for me- obviously taste is highly subjective so won't try and describe that subjective experience- but at £7.99 or something it's worth a dabble in my opinion. I don't know the lingo with wine, but would love to see what you guys enjoy a tipple of and what others think of my 'taste' .. Take care,
  20. So Ribiero is a permanent? I was confused with that one!
  21. Madness that next season, we're going to have to re-consider Kargbo's contract again- even if he does sign it, I doubt it's going to be on the same terms.. Really sloppy, short-sighted business..
  22. A Brereton-esque turn around in performances but hell of a lot quicker.. Whilst his finishing leaves a bit to be desired, he's an absolute power-house, great in the air, strong on the deck and really good feet for a big man.. The more I watch him, the more I think we've got a decent player.. Get those contracts sorted out- Travis, Trondstadt and Brittain are priorities. The Kargbo contract is ludicrous- he's going to need a new one at the end of next season, and, judging from his 5 minute cameo (yes, I like to jump the gun) he's going to be a right handful... Looking forward to seeing Denny boy and Kargbo either side Gueye.. Sit deep and smash teams on the break.. I think we could get fairly close to the play-off's if we can keep everyone fit. However, Trondstadt has left a Sonny shaped hole in the midfield. I really would have preffered not to have signed Forshaw and took gamble on a young lad from league one or two, but 'hey-ho'.. Off for a poo, happy Thursday you beautiful people!
  23. What a turgid performance.. Hedges and Dolan really poor.. Cantwell did nothing when he came on either.. Other than that, 6/10 for the rest- no spark. Really like the look of AK47, very quick- will benefit us massively on the counter-attack..
