  1. Absolute horror show from the referee there!! Sick to death of it, every week there's something.
  2. Given the yellows we've received how is that not a yellow on Pickering?!!
  3. That's all stemmed from the foul on Markanday. I detest the refs in the Champioship!!
  4. How the fuck is THAT not a foul on Markanday?! Ref's a disgrace!!!!!
  5. I must be watching a different player, he's worked hard, held up the ball, got a few shots off and linked play up well. Done more in 30 mins than Ennis and Leonard to suggest he's got something to him...
  6. I see four glaring weaknesses in our current squad- centre halves not being one of them.. Goalkeeper: Bring back Kaminski- how many times did the save us at the start of last season? Our XG was terrible yet we were pushing top of the league for ages... Loan in an experienced no1 to steady our defence and tutor the younger keepers.. Lack of pace: Absolutely no pace in the side. One paced is an understatement. As a counterattacking side it's vital to have players that can stretch the game a bit. I can't think of one. Could do with two Khadra types. No striker, no focal point, it's embarrassing. Got to be addressed. Centre midfield is woefully short, we need a Rothwell replacement. If we addressed those issues in January, the GK and lack of pace especially I think we'd look a good side.
  7. I said this against Watford, what I'd give for a Khadra, even a Rothwell- we're so predictable and lack any kind of dynamism/flair. Needs addressing!
  8. Leonard doesn't have the attributes to play as a lone striker. He's neither fast, strong or good in the air. Perhaps he'd be better suited to playing off a big man like Gallagher in a front two. As it stands though I personally feel like he offers nothing. You'd be made up playing against him as a centre half. This might seem like an attack on Leonard- it's not, I just don't think his skill-set is suited to the role he's being asked to play and our style of play. He'd be better going out on loan. I'd prefer to see Ennis or Telalovic given a go. We're really lacking a Rothwell and a Khadra too. We've absolutely no creativity or pacy out-let. Decimated by injuries and lack of investment.
  9. What a bad move for Buckley.. I can see him slipping through the leagues after this.. He's just not athletic enough. Coasts through games. Shame. Can anyone see him coming back in Jan and getting in ahead of Trondstadt, JRC, Travis, Wharton.. Think the lads really got his work cut out now..
  10. I think Brittain, Carter, Wharton, Hyam are all very good defenders. I think they're lacking protection and a good goalkeeper behind them. You can't carry a lazy Wharton and a poor keeper, you're bound to leak goals. I'd be dropping both if we had more options. Wahlsted and Tronsdadt deserve a go in my opinion. Wharton needs a rocket!
  11. I thought Pears could have done better with all four goals.. Surely the new lad gets a chance now. That's the difference between us now and last season. If you cast your mind back Kaminski was pulling off world class saves left, right and centre. This meant we picked up a lot of wins we arguably didn't deserve. Pears just isn't as good as Kaminski. Shots I feel would be bread and butter for Kaminski are flying into the net now. His positioning and decision making is also questionable at times. He's a solid option off the bench but isn't a number 1 for a team that wants (?) play-offs... Adam Wharton needs a rocket up his arse. He looks like he's running in quick sand. No urgency what-so-ever. He is also so sloppy on the ball. I am not at all convinced by him. I recall a young David Dunn coming through with his swash-buckling style of play- aggressive, urgency, skill and hardwork- Adam, at the moment seems to lack in all these attributes. Too slow, too sloppy. I'd be happy to sell him in January if a decent offer comes in. Still, lots of positives, Brittain looks better with every game- in fact the defence in general looks good imo despite the goals against.. Carter is an absolutely tremendous prospect, has everything in his game to go and play at the very top. Some player we have there. Travis, great too, happy he plays for us and not someone else. I don't know what's happened to Dolan but with him not signing his contract and his current level of performance I'd be happy to get a few million for him in Jan. Shame, but he can sod off he doesn't want to be here. Thought Markanday was fairly industrious- didn't waste the ball, but didn't create an awful lot either. I'd like to see him trying to impact the game a bit higher up the pitch. Gutted for Hedges- he makes a big difference when he plays. I'd be tempted to start with something like this.. GK: Wahlsted DL: Pickering DR: Brittain DC: Carter DC: Hyam MC: Travis MC: JRC MC: Szmodic LF: Siggurdson CF: Telalolovic RF: Markanday/Gilsenen Szmodic being industrious in centre mid, full backs pushing on
  12. I don't think it's that Leo ain't trusted, it's that Pears has earned the shirt last season- it's his to lose. you could drop him after one bad game but it'd kill moral. If Tronsdadt has come in and JDT thinks what we already have is better then that speaks volumes about our academy. Moran I thought was really wasteful in possesion and a weak link. However, it's early doors. So many positives, shit result but we move on- exciting season ahead.
  13. You must be joking?? We've battered Sunderland and could, probably should, have been 3/4-0 inside 24 mins. If you arc back to last season we don't play for a draw, we play entertaining football and shoot for 3 points. I see so many positives from today, excited for the season. My one concern is the lack of a striker to put that ball in the net, however I think that'll take care of itself as the team evolves. (Mainly) Great performance with an undeserved result. Ipswich won't be able to handle us. Today luck was against us. That won't happen every gane.
  14. Fucking hell- really? I was juts looking at free transfers on TransferMarkt!! That'll explain that then.
  15. Santi Mina, 27 year old striker, 181cm tall, market value peaked at 30 euros a few years ago. Careers stalled a bit.. Surely someone like this is worth a pop?
  16. Gally has to start, build his confidence. He's our main man now. I think he's going to have a great season, needs tying down to another couple of years, going to be a real asset. First Arma, then Breo, I'm convinced he'll benefit from being the main man.
  17. I think JRC is more suited to a marauding role in the middle of the park personally.
  18. Exactly! It's hard to watch at times but it does set the scene for our counter-attacks..
  19. The most convincing of wins, but a win is a win. Last season we made a habit out of that so long may it continue. I felt Dolans decision making was poor, one moment sticks out where he shot from a silly angle whilst Hedges was screaming for i unmarked inside him. I also felt Wharton wanted too much time on the ball. He needs a rocket up his arse sometimes- I think he plays best when he doesn't have time to pick a pass. Equally he played some lovely stuff, could have had two assists and he is still a kid, very talented just wish he'd play with more urgency and drive. Markanday allegedly has a great feet- I think his confidence is shot to shit at the moment so we're not seeing that. However his workrate and tenacity is excellent and merits a place around the first 11, hopefully as time passes he'll gain more confidence. Back four good, Carter goes from strength to strength- got everything that lad. Think he'll be more of a player than Phillips ever will. Destined for a good career! Travis was outstanding in my opinion along with Szmodic, great tenacity from both. Leonard took the goal very well but looked a bit nervous at times- I'd perserve, I think he's going to be a cracking player- offers much more than Vale. I think we're light in centre mid and up-top. If this is addressed, a creative driving force and a big man that can hold up the ball we'll cause teams a lot of problems.
  20. Well organised, hard-working, unspectacular side with a good defence. Could have a reasonable season with a couple of good additions...
